This young lady is Shelley Bruce, the second actress to play Annie on Broadway. She originated the role of Kate, then took over as Annie after Andrea McArdle left. I think this was probably around 1978 or so. Sarah Jessica Parker took over the role in 1979 after Shelley left.
If I remember correctly from seeing this on UCP's website, because Leonard Goldensen was the head of ABC AND the co-founder of UCP, this show basically was a telethon run on ABC Stations (with notable exceptions like WOR / WWOR 9 in NY of course.) My question - did it ever run on WABC in New York, or was it on WOR (WWOR) from day one?
