I own that movie.. Gaspard did an excellent job at playing Hannibal. But it made me cry when Misha was killed by those men. I kept thinking that they are bad as Alfred Packer. I cried when she was being killed and when Hannibal was having those nightmares :(

There was many good ideas for the story but very little good writing in artistic sense. There is something in this video which makes one to watch it many times. Sorry for my broken english. Ps. I just read Brutal by Kevin Weeks. It was interesting story about guy whose later stages of life are so much like those of old Hannibal Lecter.

Imagine an older Hannibal Lecter in court. The judge asks if he has any excuse for his actions and he says in a calm quick voice "Yes, Nazis ate my sister." You have to admit if you were to say something like that to ur friends theyd start laughing.

Anyway, starvation and death weren't all he faced in his life. His house was the orphanage, for one thing. You think he had friends? I doubt it.
Well its certainly possible but i doubt it. I think his bid for cannibalism was revenge on the looters and after he killed all of them it developed into taste. And even so the roof had collapsed in the Winter of that region he couldnt survive their long with the stuff he had he would need to get out of their fast. And after he left he was found by the Russian Army who put him in the boarding school.
O and sure he didn't have any friends he couldnt even speak but he wasnt hated at least. Listen to the mood of the student next to Hannibal when he told the bully he was mute he wasn't making fun of him he was explaining it with what could either be acceptance or pity. The other students at least didn't hate him that alone would make it a lot easier.

Well thanks for clearing up COD but now that I know he was talking about Pot Watcher, the father is irrelavent. Student, Headmaster, I think he would have been similarly punished either way the only real diffrence it would've made is the "uniform" as you put it.
And if he was faking being mute I'm sure he would've opened up to his Aunt a lot sooner rather than wait a day or two.

If I were Hannibal, I would have done the same thing. I'm so glad he decided to kill instead of stay with his aunt. I almost cried when Mischa died.

I agree. Many of us would seek similar attempts at revenge. I think parents whos child has been murdered brutally, must feel a rage like Hannibal's.

Okay this is going to sound INCREDIBLY insensitive but it just popped into my head.
Imagine an older Hannibal Lecter in court. The judge asks if he has any excuse for his actions and he says in a calm quick voice "Yes, Nazis ate my sister." You have to admit if you were to say something like that to ur friends theyd start laughing.

Ok his sister was killed and cannibalized what more reason could he have? And what guy are you talking about? I don't remember anyone helping Hannibal before being killed by a bomb. You mean his dad? He died when a plane crashed it wasn't a bomb. And if you were talking about Pot Watcher he was one of the guys that killed Mishca he sure as hell didn't help.

Remember the looter who was hit over the head by a falling beam . . . I bet Hannibal lived off him for quite a while . . . I bet Hannibal ate well after the other looters fled.
Anyway, starvation and death weren't all he faced in his life. His house was the orphanage, for one thing. You think he had friends? I doubt it.

Well its certainly possible but i doubt it. I think his bid for cannibalism was revenge on the looters and after he killed all of them it developed into taste. And even so the roof had collapsed in the Winter of that region he couldnt survive their long with the stuff he had he would need to get out of their fast. And after he left he was found by the Russian Army who put him in the boarding school.

O and sure he didn't have any friends he couldnt even speak but he wasnt hated at least. Listen to the mood of the student next to Hannibal when he told the bully he was mute he wasn't making fun of him he was explaining it with what could either be acceptance or pity. The other students at least didn't hate him that alone would make it a lot easier.

sorry for interrupting this ... conversation, but first of all his dad died because he was shot in the back, watch him run to the kids closely you will see gunshots in his back appearing and second of all that wasn't a student that was one of the headmasters look at his uniform and the way he grabs Hannibal after he stabs the guy in the hand... besides he has a smerk on his face when he says he is a mute. also i think they made fun of him because he screamed at night

Well thanks for clearing up COD but now that I know he was talking about Pot Watcher, the father is irrelavent. Student, Headmaster, I think he would have been similarly punished either way the only real diffrence it would've made is the "uniform" as you put it.
And if he was faking being mute I'm sure he would've opened up to his Aunt a lot sooner rather than wait a day or two.
That is the reason they made fun of him (among other things)
