Must say ya the 300 I6 was a solid engine, trannys in late 80's-early 90's in the fords (autos) were not that great, gm defiantly had that over ford at the time. Must say the chev 305 and the ford 302 were both crap. chevs were famous for intake gaskets we know, but some would say for every 1 chev with an intake bad there's a thousand fords with bad vaccum lines. they both had thier goods and bads neither are as good as they used to be.
