  • The novel this movie was based on is a good read, too.

  • Strange that they chose a king crimson song to play during the scene in which the cover art of "Animals" by pink Floyd can be seen.

  • So now America is using detention camps for its 'fugees'

but it's term of choice is the "illegals."

Journalism is dead on the main media outlets.

    Fear mongering and propaganda rule.

We live in a sick, inhuman world when we treat our fellow man like that.

Australia should also hang its head in shame for the way it treats its immigrants!

    On target, Cuarón. Enhorabuena.

An amazing film that cuts close to the bone.

  • Bet all the guys want Niagra to be around :L

  • When this didn't win an oscar, I lost all respect and faith for that award... and so did almost everyone.

  • I can't always get YouTube to work you guys. =/

  • Very similar to what is happening today!

  • Man, if this what the UK is in the movie, I can't imagine what America or China would be like in the movie

  • whats the song ?

  • @slfviirus

King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King

  • Children of Men is one of the most technically impressive films ever made, not to much mention it's a haunting, unbelievably realistic tale of mankind collapsing.

  • saw this on tv.

    this is a great movie.

    underrated.

can't wait until i have enough money to buy it

  • CLASH OF HEROES

    FULHAM VS LIVERPOOL.........

    YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!!

  • @manutdr8 hahahahaha

  • Robbed, this film was fucking robbed of the Oscars that it deserved, the Academy were blind fools for that move.

  • @InvisibleDiary you really think Oscars award the best movies?

  • just watching all these depresses me. What a masterful job.

  • Oh god these adverts are exactly like the commercials I see now.

  • Wave of the future.. Obama fans,....

  • @MrNewman24 Police state, people encouraged to report illegal immigrants, people in the streets begging God for mercy? Sounds more like a Republican wet dream.

  • @ccfc73 Republican wet dream was taking back the house today....

  • @MrNewman24 Why do you people post this crap in every video, on every article, on every random gardening blog, etc? Do you not understand the concept of topicality? Do you ever consider the fact that normal people like to have breaks from politics? You're the internet equivalent of that bum on the street corner with the "end is nigh" signs bothering everyone trying to get to work. You should discuss politics on a political forum where people will CARE.

  • @Kerberoz01 That's the wonderful thing about this country. Freedom of speech... I can voice my opinion anywhere at anytime i choose... Thanks for the ignorant advice you pseudo intellectual wannabe... I must have struck a nerve to prompt your response... Have a nice life....

  • @MrNewman24 what does freedom of speech have to do with being annoying on a privately-owned website? If I was the government trying to legally force you to shut up, it would actually be relevant. Freedom of speech doesn't protect you from criticism. You must be really annoying in real life. I bet you bring up politics in conversations about where to grab dinner.

  • @Kerberoz01 Hit me up when you move out of your mothers basement....Privately owned.. irrelevant... You are an ignorant....You wish you were the government trying to shut me up nazi douchebag.... I have succeeded in wasting precious moments of you dismal insignificant life by responding to my comments.... P.S. Have your mom change your diaper before you hit kindergarten loser ....

  • @MrNewman24 so you are full of shit ehhh? no one likes the stinky kid in kintergarden. or it might just be your style of ammo storage container?

  • @blackdragonwhitelion ??? your comment makes no sense....

  • This movie is simply a masterpiece. I love it.

  • all the best sci fi is just a reflection of what goes on in the present..this film is wicked just for the last 20 minutes

  • Totally amazing movie..love it so much...

  • I remember this film, government issued suicide kits... O.o

  • if this did happen for real it would probably be caused by the BP oil spill or Facebook radiation :P

  • Jerk King BIG since 2004. hmmmm

  • Very Orwellian film, yet so realistic! It is scary how close we are coming to this scenario!

  • Another great Movie by a Great Mexican Director it has eeire conections to whats going on in Arizona today

    Anti Immigrant sentiment

So Kubrik like and a great science fiction movie it makes movies like The Matrix seem like a cartoon comared to this in your face futuristic horror film

  • my favorite movie of all time... :o just finished watching it and i'm just amazed by it... a master piece truly amazing.

  • mrartificial Rocks !!!

  • The best part is that there's actually a product called Quietus now to cure ear-ringing. Every time I see a commercial for it I think of this movie and how dumb the marketing people who thought it up must be to have copied the name of a fictional suicide drug.

  • this song fits so well here

  • one of the best movies ive seen - period.

  • do you happen to know the name of the song ?

  • @turgore "The Court Of The Crimson King" by King Crimson.

  • Twentieth anniversary Macintosh at 1:54

  • That's 30 years old in this movies timeline. :p

  • I love the thought that went into the pet clothing ads. Who do you care for if there's no children? Your pets.

  • dude thats genious !

  • love a bit of King Crimson

  • lol, most of the situations in this clip are already a reality.

  • Comment removed

  • hold on, we're almost there

  • movie was really good

  • Wow, these are amazing! Thanks a lot for posting them :D

  • I never got how one child meant the solution to infertility. Surely they would need another child to be born (a boy), so that the future of humanity could be assured.

  • No The Awnser is mainly Key, They need to test her with a normal infertile woman, to understand what it is that makes her different

  • noo coz its the girls who are infertile in the movie, so any amount of men that were already living could 'procreate' with the new baby girl ( hopefully shes fertile..) or Kee, the mother, who is obviously fertile. (:

  • I wonder if Youtube exists? And everyone who uses it watches just to see videos of babies kittens and puppies... A lot of users are already doing that when there are too many of them now. Immagine this scenario.

  • You consider THAT utopia?? hahah...well then you will enjoy the coming years and the NWO. wow

  • NWO?

Geez, it seems more and more people are talking about it.

  • Terrifying and stunning all at once. Thank you SO much for posting.

  • this movie depressed the hell outta.

    this movie was ravishing.

  • An excellent vision of the future and what we will become if POLITICAL APATHY/CORRUPTION prevails...

    Many thanks for posting

  • The makers of this film went into so much detail. Even the idea that the adverts in the background would be base on animal clothing., Due to the fact the adults no longer have children to love and care for. Shame it never 1 the oscar.

  • @sammmyp i made adverts in my future films. by no means am i asking you to see it. but ud be supreised its very fun to do it

  • Only "Soylant Green" creates a more crushing scenario (that is also nearer to reality).

  • yeah soylent green depressed the hell out of me. there is a TAD bit of hope in that movie, but not much. with children of men, the ending kind of implies that the infertility crisis was solved and things got better, so it's more hopeful.

The tv movie Threads is probably the most depressing, hopeless prediction of the future I've ever seen. Either that or clockwork orange.

  • I thought the police with NFL helmets was funny.

  • After the news and videos of the G20 summit in Oakland PA do the police still seem funny in those helmets to you. I'm not being sarcastic & not insulting. It's just look what the heck just happened.

  • such detail in this movie. it's so immersive and convincing.

  • What song is this?

  • King Crimson - In the court of the Crimson King (1969).

    Great song, isn't it?

  • God we use to listen to this all the time and reading people asking what it is just makes me feel old but then even more fearful that wow how soon people forget things in history and move onto another major time in history that it also will be forgot. Look WWII WWI slowelly becoming a story in time not just history and even debated if it ever was a bad as it was told. Vietnam and Korea pearl harbor they happened. Really. So whats next. I wont be surprised.

  • lol . no censorship needed on tv ;)

  • :-P How much ironically dystopic can you get... :-)

  • the film portrays a dark and dingy future without kids perfectly, i loved the films way of getting the environment across....

  • This movie was brilliant, portraying our inhumanities eerily- accurately. oscar?

  • There's a newspaper article that can be seen in the film stating the Beckhams' celebrating an anniversary in London. Guess they will move back to England before the civil war breaks out in the U.S. lol.

  • Wow...they put alot of thought into this movie...

The Quietus suicide kits, The commercials for pet clothing (I guess alot of people got pets since they cant have kids), The Antidepressants, The Propaganda ads(note the LEGALS ONLY on the sports ad). Its a work of art.

    also, lol @ Niagra

  • @BrownsRtheBest I never understood what Quietus was...

  • @Rodolfsk8 It's the government's controlled version of suicide in a pill. In the book, they talk about how so many people would kill themselves in very messy and disturbing ways, publicly, that they wanted t control it and make it....well, not as messy.

  • @BrownsRtheBest An overlooked gem....Clive Owne is one of the best actors of our age!

  • did those commercials really come out in the movie?

  • I mean : Humanity is losing hope... No children = no future... So why not bask in plenty to take your mind off the everyday horror of the hopeless human world, which is in such contrast to the cheerful and optimiticly kitschy commercials ? Logical... Yet sad...

  • Banal commercials and paranoic goverment propaganda... A sad and tragi-comical combination. I hope the near future will not be like this... (And I don't mean the purely fantasy plot of absolute infertility from James's original novel, which is inprobable, but mind-challenging.)

  • now im sad.....again

  • This film is incredible.

  • thanx

  • what's the name of the song?

  • Court of the Crimson King, by, uh, King Crimson, haha. It's off their first album. Check them out, really good.
