But from what I saw & heard it's pretty Clear that Ms. Mariah HIT those notes as she did in the "recorded album" what you seem to be asking is for her to "sound" exactly like the album she recorded, effects of backing vocals & all. It's live, sometimes that means the artist may have to improvise to connect what otherwise is different or missing from the "original" song recording it's NOT American Idol Karaoke.

You can tell she was SO nervous at the beginning, but then she gained control and was awesome. Her stage presence still needed work but her voice was already ridiculous.

I was there when this happened behind stage. I was a young kid. She sounded great and I could hear her so clearly there. I was thinking there is Mariah, she is going to be as big as Whitney Houston one day and yes indeed she is...yes indeed. Inspiration from the heavens in the form of a goddess. Spectacular Vocal insturment. Great showmanship, and great on the eyes. Refreshing. Glad to see her finally settling down a bit and starting a family with that handsome Nick. Another legend on the way...

I remember this. She was soooo green, with no stage presence, whatsoever. And that damn strap!!! But I still loved her. You couldn't help but root for this young girl (she was going on 21). Such a lady. And a great voice. She had nothing on Whitney, but the whistle note and writing skills. Her mother taught her well.
