  • hahaha de raw footage is better^^ im amateur and i know: keep skin colors. you didn't. your a biger noob.

  • lol THE RAW FOOTAGE LOOKS WAY BETTER hahaha ! :P

  • I think our monitor is not color corrected ........ or you are not very good at color correcting.

  • hmm in my opinion, your "color correction" doesnt make it any better than the original footage. More important than making it look like a film is making it look GOOD.

  • Skin tones look good on the left and WAY too blue on the right. Do some secondary color correction on the people and still keep the primary blue if you must.

  • Decrease brightness, take away some colors. And how do you call it, correction? Not even realistic

  • raw better

  • if anything, for the subject you are portraying in this, i'd have stuck with the non colour corrected footage. You have turned what looks like a good colour balance, slightly lacking contrast as standard, into a bleached out unrealistic outcome. why would you turn a warm country fayre type event into a battle scene from Braveheart?

  • i don't like color correction at 0:07

    Whites are overexposed

  • that asia gay with bf 0:10 tells his white bf come and take me...i am much more sexier

  • Colour correction looks, well... shit. For an effective and good colour correction, ALL you need to use is curves and a bit of colour grading. Nothing else.

  • @Jack9488 well said !!!

  • @Jack9488 i disagree

  • Nothing looks like film but films. Digital videos with colour corrections are some what close but lack the crispiness, the contrast and grains that films have. I used to have a 5D Mark II and it was nice but gave it up, going back to film cameras.

  • actually looks better before the color correction.

  • whats up with the annoying music?

  • Weak to delete my comment because i don't like your color correction (facepalm).

  • @GrodiPutin ur right. actually it was better before the color correction process!

  • If you want to create a zombie-like twilight movie--- so maybe yes.

  • This is more like color reduction or desaturation than correction. The raw is actually pretty darn good to begin with. 'Less is more' when correcting imo.

  • I like raw footage more..

  • Looks like a drop in saturation, increase in contrast and sharpness.

  • This wasn't that good.. You have over-edited your footage, makes it wierd

  • I'm not sure what you all think colour correcting is but that wasn't it... that's colour grading, completely different thing.

  • looks really stupid. Looks like u wanna make this simple footage a superhero movie.. Lol.. looks stupid.

  • wow im actually surprised how much detail you can gain by color correcting . very nice

  • Raw footage looks far better than the so-called color corrected

  • I swear, what is it with today and people loving de-saturation, it's so hideous to look at, that and every film these days being in shades of either teal or orange. It's color people!!!! If you want monochromatic, go to black and white!!!! and btw, of course the raw footage looks much much better.

  • slit toning the shadows for photography, specifically fashion and alternative portraits etc is acceptable, but with film it just looks lame!

  • @PoesKlap133 *Split toning

  • @GrodiPutin I agree, color "correction" is a load of shit, I have yet to see a single color correction video that isn't oversaturated, or fucking pink. The original almost ALWAYS looks better. Usually just messing with the contrast/light levels works fine. But... what the fuck do I know?

  • All depends on the mood your trying to create.

  • that looks horrible and unrealistic man

  • the colour corrected version looks shite. looks like a cunt decided to change the original colours into some pathetic zombie style. its this style of talentless film making that is beyond pathetic. people who do this are pathetic and have no intelligence.

  • Color corrected made people look like zombies.

  • You guys have something against color?

  • i think the title of right footage is wrong..it should be "color shitted fotage"

  • @GrodiPutin amen to that, bro.

  • On the left: People. On the right: The walking dead.

  • what's your opinion Nikon D7000 or Canon 5D (7D for cheaper version)

  • bad correction. on planet earth, reality looks like... left side. right side sugests nightmares, apocaliptic visions, troubled minds, drug induced reality, morning after heawy drink, etc.

  • bad. looks bad. on planet earth reality looks different. except in troubled minds...

  • WtF!!... I like the Raw Footage..

  • This sounds like me when I am trying to come up with a song and I can't.

  • original is batter...

    hah

  • My question is, what program do you use for the color correction?

  • @reticulan5 I think the reason they color corrected the way they did was to give it an older look, cause if you check out that one guy's shirt it looks renaissance-ish, like a medieval kind of thing lol

  • Where's the correction, the left side looks much better.

  • Why does people color corrected their footage to make them uglier. I don't get it.

  • sorry but raw looks way better.

  • All, I have 100s of home videos shoot with HV40 and 7d. 7d mov files looks great when I play in computer but when I use pinnacle stdio burn DVD...I loose so much quality ....even with full quality....

Same time, if I download Hv40 footage through firewire into mpg files and convert DVD look better....some thing missing ...please help....

  • Color correction is not always about natural skin tones, sometimes a cast is needed/necessary for dramatic reasons. However, in an average test with people I'd apply some skin tone rescue.

  • raw looks better. your skintones are out of the chart :)

  • "After" looks very unnatural.

  • "Corrected" is the wrong word for the awful crap this is

  • when it was midevel filming, the color correction looked better. but the modern time filming looked better without

  • adobe lightroom is very powerful and very quick. Can't do the in depth editing of photoshop / CS4 but ...

  • @GrodiPutin like harry potter.

  • i like the color corrected version.... looks more like a movie.

  • New blog about filming, editing and DSLR video:

    fenchel-janisch[dot]com

  • @FenchelJanisch your color correction seem a little gery instead of black do people like the dry grey look. i may need to go that way can someone message me telling me or respond to my reply here i need to know.

  • @sourcekings i can help you, whats your problem?

  • @TheFullHDtube take a look at some of my videos and tell me what im doing wrong how far off am i im going to look at some of your videos!

  • Go cross-eyed it looks 3d !!

    Awsome video btw :)

  • @MrJakeBush Although color "correction" is subjective, I do also have the same opinion as Mr. jakeBush. Maybe the user's purpose of this video is to demonstrate their color correction technique more than considering the esthetic side.

  • I agree with MrJakeBush. If you were trying to be cinematic, what happened to the green tones usually seen in movies? The Canon 7D tends to shoot with a bit more contrast than the Nikon D7000 and I can understand desaturating or flattening contrast slightly, but this "color correction" was awful.

  • Was that done with the three way color corrector with a litlle drop in saturation?

  • @rneu0324

Actually it's a little bit more then just that but it would take to long to write it here...

  • @FenchelJanisch really?, you dont have enough room to explain a little more about this desaturated, blue contrast look you got here? come on dude?

  • I need your Advice about editing programms ...which the best and also easy to use ?
