This is Very nice, though I would appreciate if you allow the listener to know who the performer is...let's give credit where credit is due..shall we?
there must be a mutual artistic approach of debussy and schumann, both captured the moonlight like noone else ... just listen to the first measures of mondnacht and clair de lune...
Nice !! the chello playing the melody ! Always is great to feel Schuman's lyrics, melody and harmony to a complete listening of the work.. but your chello was so dramatic ! .. wonderfull ! it feels like the lyrics are not necessary..
The music performance is obviously far superior to the movie, but anyway I like the movie too; it's slighty slowed down, isn't it? this gives a sense of remembrance and of search of the lost time in my opinion (I don't know if I'm writing a sheer banality). Just out of curiosity, is the place Trieste by chance?
You have very good eyes, the movie is slowed down (the lengths didn't fit, but when I saw the result I liked it for the reason you write). I agree, the music is better, but this has a simple explanation. I have practiced music for more then 50 years (very limited due to my job ..). The movie is by no means planned, I made it from a train ride along the Italian cost (probably "cinque terra"). The nature was so fantastic that I heard "Mondnacht" in me ...
Yes, I have read in your profile you have always been practising music-in the other clip of yours it's so evident.I thought of Trieste because there is a sort of "Castello di Duino" at the beginning of the movie, and because the movie in general made me think of Rilke. Maybe you are a true decadent who happended to be a limpid Bachian mathematician too (I'm joking, sorry). I'll wait for the movie of your next Italian trip, maybe from Trieste to Venezia. Best regards from Italy, Antonio.
@matze1947 The music and film work perfectly together. :) Makes me want to travel to Italy and the music is just beautiful! The combination creates stirrings of nostalgia.
Based on solely how you played the piece and not how hard it is... I rate your video on an establshed 1 to 5 scale a :5 visit my youtube page for GREAT VIDEOS

...simplemente me gusto mucho!!!

Is this related to the german poem Mondnacht by Joseph Freiherr Von Eichendorff
Es war als haett' der himmel
Die Erde Still geküsst
Dass Sie im blütenschimmer
von ihm nun traumen müsst . . . etc.
clairbear1234 2 years ago 5
Yes it is, originally it is a song by Schumann on this Eichendorff song.

Well done. I think this film matches the music very well; both have a very strong serene/peaceful feel to them. Disregard what everyone else says.
