  • Some people belive it started in Panama becuse it was there that Spanish reggae started but that wasn't Reggaeton. Reggaeton blends reggae and dancehall with Latin as well as hip hop beats. Reggaeton actually originated in Puerto Rico.

  • HEY YO TUTOR check out my reggea MIX

  • bla bla with the reggaeton starting in panama, so what? big ups ellaskins for this vid

  • I guess my legs are sawn of then!

  • It started in Panama, the Puerto Ricans perfected it!

  • Yeah it was first made in Panama but I think that the Puerto Ricans reached a more international state with their songs.

  • El General sings Spanish Dancehall. Vico-C used to sing Spanish Hip Hop. And before them there were many Latin Artists trying to rap in Spanish. You could see that on the song El Jardinero of Wilfrido Vargas.

  • This is because they moved to Panama to help building the Panama Canal, and we are talking back in the early 1900s. You would see that in Panama we used a lot of Spanglish wordslike guial (girl) buay (boy) man and so many that now Puerto Ricans used in their Reggaeton today.

  • Before el General and Vico-C there was Renato. He is from Panama. He started back on 1983. But Panamanians were singing Jamaican Dance-hall in Spanish. They took the Jamaican dancehall beat and used Spanish lyrics. Panama is probably one of the Latin countries that have the largest Jamaican and West Indian community. .

  • thanks man...your a awesome tutor.thanks for taking the time to show us your skills!

  • ... HEY DJ Tutorial HOW CAN I GET instrumentals FOR FREE ?//??

  • Reggae start in Jamaica, then Panama make the first Reggae in Spanish and then Puerto Rico converted to "Reggae-Ton". Their reggaeton sucks because "reggaeton" is not reggae, is an insult to the music. The real spanish reggae is from Panama!.

  • its reggae "tone"... we call it reggaeton because it has similar beats, bass and rythms of reggae... its nothing similar to panamas reggae man and u should know that.... our music is a whoooole other thing thats taking over little by little, so no matter what u say or how sucky u say it is, it is still spreading and names are apprearing everywhere... just ask Daddy Yankee and Wisin and Yandel... theyve been everywhere, even to panama sweeping your people over their own music...bam

  • it started as Spanish Reggae around 1989 on the streets not going to the media , and Yes! it started in Panama! not Puerto Rico!!

thn in 1993 the general " el general " appear then it started growing ... thats when puertoricans wanted to make a new beat when they add a diff beat n they call it Reggaeton..

  • @dazicariojc mexico blew up regaeton ...thnx you mexico VIVA MEXICO !

  • @dazicariojc don't forget that reggeaton pioneer was Vico C that sang a hip hop song in spanish on a radio contest in puerto rico

  • @dazicariojc

exactly so listen to what you said your self Reggaeton was not panama reggae is what panama did and reggae came from jamaica meaning Puerto Rico Created the reggaeton so it started in Puerto Rico

  • REGGAETON STARTED IN PANAMA like it or not. i myself dont like it.lol but yeah admit pendejos de mierda. goole it!!!

  • @alfonso704

panama did reggae and reggae is jamaican so panama copy jamaica in reggae now Reggaeton came from Puerto Rico google it huele bicho

  • Not too sure where it started but I do know the first succesful (at least in N.Y.C.) spanish reggae joints were by el general and I believe he is from Panama... The whole Reggaeton sceen blew up shortly after that. And YES I am Puerto Rican

  • wow...this guy got it on point. started as reggae, then the boricuas took it from there and collaborated it with salsa, n latino hiphop. not made in PANAMA, cmon now. thats why 90% reggaeton artists are boricuas. geez...

  • panama started it with the reggae you dumbass with the jamica instrumental and the jamica records were 33 rpm and the pamana speed it up to 45 rpm while that the puerto ricans were doing hip-hop in spanish that was underground

  • hey its very interesting !!!

    :D thnkx

  • @FlowDeBarrio2004 yes..... watch the Choosen Few El Documental

  • @djsuave93 orry to let you down but thats not true lol

  • @djsuave93 Sorry**

  • @woonky17 it actually did, it popularized in puerto rico and puerto ricans are much better at it

  • @djsuave93 maybe because they made it famous after el genral didnt get heard no more

  • The "accent" is the start of the bar, any bar. Listen for the "accent", the "hit" at the start of the new bar.

  • But this teacher have found the Great VICO C (Luis Armando Lozada Cruz) the gratest MC ever in PR, a singer like Hector "La Voz" Lavoe or Ismael "Maelo" Rivera (masters of popular music in Puerto Rico). People who have a message. KEEP THE GOOD WORK MAESTRO!

  • crissus88 i agree with you, it is original from Puerto Rico and this guy in this video is a great teacher and have a great ear for music. To be honest REGETON have a lot of low live garbage beats and MCs, amost every DJ here in PR have a computer with Fruity Loops and a Drunk Guy shouting nonsenses.

  • damn Jonathan!!! You never fail in amazing me in how you break something down that can be complicated to hard to instruct to someone!!! CheerS!

  • Nice movie people can lern much of it but i already emailed u can u make it now with hardcore music thats a bit a whole bit harder to count:P do you got some easy manner for hardcore music?

    Thanx

  • Loose translation,

The reggaeton born in puerto rico is more or less 16 years, when groups emerging and thriving mixed with reggae rap, some representatives are originating vico c, hector and tito, ivy queen, and other more, they began amostrarse nightclubs as on the Noise, is the true story, Panama, and in any case basis, but what is known as reggaeton national definitively in puerto rico.

  • Did this guy just try and teach people how to count to 4?

  • sadly, i think a lot of people who try to get into doing music don't know the importance of tempo, rhythm, and staying within those boundaries. so i think it's good he's reinforcing the importance of counting. and i think he went over a bit more than that.

this comment sounds contemptuous, but it's not o_o

  • it originated in panama.

  • no it didn't lol it was puerto rico and dominican republic

  • yea actually it did.

and im not sayinq this because im panamanian but because people need to realize that puerto ricans took it from us and changed what it is suppose to be.

its suppose to be reggae songs sung in spanish.

  • first off im mexican and i could care less where it came from, but i know for a fact that it came from either puerto rico or the dominican republic

  • yeah and i know for a fact that chicanorap came from guatemala or argentina.. everybody knows reggaeton originated in panama.. back then it wus raggamuffin.. then pr's took it and developed it to what we call reggaeton now...

  • True, Reggaeton started as reggae sung in spanish...PR took it, made it evolved...the PuertoRican genre is called Urban now even though it's still called reggaeton by us because we witnessed the evolution in a slow pattern, and kept calling any change reggaeton.

  • (5)*****

  • He "J" just to let people know reggaeton ranges from 93 bpm to 97 bpm.

  • sounds bit like rap to me

  • nice

  • first veiw and first commo!!
