  • Even the name of the character is genius. Norman... House.

  • It would have been so easy for me, as an American, to have never heard of Peter Cook. Not a pleasant thought!

  • Zero dislikes for Peter Cook :)

  • I watched it Mr Futter

  • comedy doesnt get funnier than this ! classic

  • Peter cook, comedy genius

  • funnies. thing. ever

  • satiracal genius. forgot how good his episode was.

  • To be honest, I find these appearances on Clive Anderson much funnier than anythng I've seen of his earlier work.

I don't think that many people are capable of the imaginative dryness of this kind of sketch.

'and if the biscuit is satisfactory, I allow another 4 million to go by'. 'Yes, an experience like that.. in fact that experience'.

  • I agree with zooney1 however Clive Anderson is extremely quick witted and needs to be right on the ball, u notice Clive simply uses keywords to prompt Peter but it looks so natural utter brilliance Peter can Ad lib and still bring it into the plan

  • 'It;s upside down'....is to die for.

  • Clive Andersen's attempts at humour and wit appear utterly childish and banal respectively in contrast to the astonishingly brilliant Peter Cook. Peter was in a different league to everyone else.

  • Too good. Simply too good. "That was the one that took me"

  • Did the audience know Peter Cook will be the guest for the whole show. Must have been an awesome surprise.

  • Towards the end of his life, the great and irreplaceable Peter Cook regained his mojo as one of the greatest gods of comedy on this show.

  • haha found a metal detector with a metal detector

  • Peter Cook : Legend

  • Does anyone know how much of this was improvised?

  • @Pippin76 - Knowing Peter Cook probably all of it - You could not better him at all, he was the master !

  • Like I said in the post about the footy Manager, I heard this man couldn't tune out. And his best wit came out when he was pissed around Soho. His wit not captured on media and instead floating up there has probably stopped aliens invading.

  • oh sweet mercy I cant watch this on a full stomach the man is too funny for this tedious world

  • The funniest and cleverest man ever in comedy!!!

    Thanks for posting

  • @1specialoffer I agree!

  • Absolute genius - Peter Cook has had an unrivalled influence on satire and humour in the UK - he is sorely missed - Private Eye will never be the same again!

  • @TennysonShallott11 an eye for knitwear to.

  • Brilliant

  • ."...My job is to test biscuits....." it's sort of Monty Phython...

  • A real entertainer.......!

  • why isnt there a Peter Cook Appreciation Page on Facebook. (just wonderin' et al!)

  • Because Facebook is shit and for 12 year olds? I've been a PC fan since about 1985 (when I were a lad)

  • All about a man who went to a well known furniture store but thought he got abducted instead! Brilliant!

  • Genius

  • me?
