In a demonstration like on the video, it does look quite ridiculous and the purpose of these specific techniques are not designed to work like that every time. Its just different options you have in a fight, and any of the techniques you see in this vid might be used in any order, in any variation. The Buj is not the only art to have demonstrations either.

@Arteanor To answer your question: no, I'm not. I'm a student of the Buj which has some ninjutsu in it, plus I do what some people call "neo-ninja" training - basically its special forces stealth and sparring, using modern technology. So I'd say that's about as close to full-blown ninjutsu training you can get, especially when combining with Buj.

Buj members I've spoken with that are experts on Jap's history. Lots of people who do Koryu also accept Hatsumi. Some don't, but enough for me do.

I do stealth walking, night-time camo, tag-team sentry removal, shurikenjutsu, team tactics, and sensory confusion - all learned by my first teacher from training personally with Stephan Hayes when he came back to America - back when Hatsumi really TAUGHT ninjutsu instead of just taijutsu. @Arteanor I have seen that video, the title intruiged me. I had been hearing two sides of the story - "Takamatsu made it all up from kids games!" VS "No he didn't!", so I wanted to hear Deans opinion. First off, I've seen lots of people claim that they read in the Bugei Ryuha Daijiten that it was fake, so he does have a point. How do you know he was refering specifically and only to you? Also, I have heard both sides of the story, and I dont' see how a kid could make up those complex kata.

@Arteanor I have been following antony cummins now and If i'm not mistaken, there is no doubt that Hatsumi and Takamatsu trained ninjutsu, The argument is about their lineage. They can't show proof of lineage however it is proven that there is True Ninjutsu in their teachings, just not a whole ninja curriculum.

his translation's of the shinobi manuals are second to none, except the original japanese (which i have to go over with the dictionary)

he also makes no claims beyond the SCOPE of ninjutsu as put forth in those manuals. hatsumi does, by claiming taijutsu is connected to ninja.

Man flipping out of a throw seems very unlikely to me outside of a demonstration. To many variables to take into account. i wouldn't try it. Very interesting though I've never hear of bujinkan before is it ninjusu or something?

It's a system which incorporates 9 different schools in its teachings. I suppose you could call it Ninjutsu but the official name (unless it's changed) is Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

This is not the "Commercialized"(Meaning adapted for a broader audience) Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, but the actual Ninpo of old (This is Togakure Ryu, if I'm not mistaken) wich is more of a dedication of your life to the way, wich most westerners is not willing to commit to.

This clip is from a "Trailer" by Soke Hatsumi made in the 70's, I think before there even was a "Bujinkan" as such (I might be wrong, this info is from the top of my head, not an accurate book or fact)
