We spent our life savings to build a new home with Lennar and they built it on a former military bombing range. (search Pinecastle Jeep Bomb Range in Orlando, Florida.) Thousands of pounds of shrapnel and unexploded ordinance was pulled from the ground. The military actually had to come in for months to handle the detonations. Our home plummeted in value and Lennar walked away with our money. They are the most unethical builder you will ever come across.
CAUTION! CAUTION! CAUTION! , Regardless of Lennar's slick advertising, never trust them as your builder. They built my home, along with hundreds of other homes on a former military bomb range in Orlando, Florida. (Pinecastle Jeep Bomb Range) When we asked for them to buy the home back they outright refused They have no morals or business ethics. We invested our life savings in this home, and now it is worth a fraction of what we paid Lennar. Don't trust this builder! Look elsewhere!
I bought a Lennar home and couldn't be happier with it! The price was cheap but the quality and attention to detail was outstanding. I thought buying a home would be a huge pain, but Lennar did a good job making it pretty painless.
Well at least we had our home more than a week before troubles started showing up. They blamed the deformity of the foundation on water retention, even though we were on a drought. To their credit, they did take initial steps to solve what they thought was the problem...regrading, french drains, etc. However, since then it's been a fight to even get them to admit the foundation is still moving, and repairs have been half-assed. Meeting with Lennar rep next week to discuss the situtation.
