I know that he is far removed from the Rastafari community in the area that he lives and to me it reflects in his music. His music gives me the impression of a lone one trying to capitalize on "feel-good"

I don't like any of his music much

JD voice sounds monotone and lacking musicality

and the music feels forced, like the musicians are somehow lacking cohesion and inspiration

the lyrical content also is uninteresting and if I didn't know better, feels almost parody-like in some instances.

Even with lyrical references "Rastafari" and Selassie, JD's whole package is to me jokey and childish with very low-impact; just the thing for people who think reggae is about fun and the beach
