  • If You Own Russian Pointe Shoes Or Ever Heard Of Them You Would Know She Didn't Break Them In Because The Best Method To Breaking In Russian Pointes Is To Do Point Work Itself. They Tell You That

  • MY POINTES KILLED MY FEET WHEN I FURST GOT THEM !!!!!

  • It makes me really happy to see a 20year old on pointe and you just started last year. I'm 16 and I always thought it was too late for me but now I know it isnt

  • yeah they definitely need to be breaken in....

  • wow! your shoes don't go through demi-pointe well... you probably should've gotten a flexible shank or something (:

  • Your 20!!!! I'm ten and I'm sewing my first pair tonight !! But I guess I understand if you haven't been dancing for a while. And don't say that I shouldn't be on pointe because I have been dancing for eight years and my legs and feet are more than muscular

  • ello! :) i L-O-V-E your shoes!!!! i have watched your other videos and i do believe that your improving! keep up the awesomeness! :D

  • I don't know whether its just me or whether you're cheating your turnout, especially at 3:15 ....

  • Really great on going over your box for your first pair of pointes!

  • @Theleocat13 they were her second pair.

  • such beautiful feet!!! but i must say your hopping up onto your box which is no bueno, work through your feet and keep your turn out, but you have great arches

  • they look really good ^_^ nice work <3

  • A lot of people are asking how to get en pointe faster. Honestly, it's age. If you're in you're mid to late teens, you will build strength faster than preteen and early teen girls and. Also, by the time you hit your mid teens your feet are pretty much done growing and you don't have to worry as much about nerve damage to growth. Naturally having a little more coordination too helps.

  • Could someone take a look at my vid ? I just got russian Lumina's and i'd like some advice :-)

  • @cops055 i was thinking of getting lumina's. how are you finding them? and are they as white as they look online? Xx

  • @MissMansonThe2nd No they dont look as white and i really like them :-) The best pointe shoes i ever had

  • their are beautifuul *-* congrats

  • I took ballet when I was younger than came back and joined a ballet academy and I'm starting pointe after a year of ballet with them:]

  • It's hard to beleive you've only been on pointe for 4 months! I've been on pointe since I was nine, after having to take three ballet courses the year before! I teach a pre-pointe class and some of the girls don't even look that good after an entire year! Keep up the good work :)

  • Google ways to stretch your arch and bend your shoes. to break them in and make them more comfortable and make your feet look nice and bendy(: but you have to be able to stretch over your box. now that you can stay stabilized on the top of the box of your shoe, you can work on pushing over(: but you have to stretch the top of your arch daily, and bend your shoes daily(:

  • make sure to turn out a bit more :)

  • i have a year n a hlf years of ballet experience . so this summer for the month of july im going on pointe . Is this a good idea ?

  • @nissayallbettakno it depends what your teacher says

  • how the hell did you get to pointe sooo fast????

  • what type of shoes do you think would be good for SUPER narrow and short feet, i've been on pointe for 9 months and right now i have blotch aspirations and they're almost dead so PLEASE HELP MEEEEE

  • ahh so your someone who sews their elastic on the inside. I do too! im the only one at my studio who does it, because all the other girls complain that the thread gives them blisters. wusses. lol jk they arent wusses they just arent as cool as me

  • Aww... I <3 ur POiNtES!! XDD

  • i've been dancing for almost two years now and i'm 14. i can not wait to get my pointe shoes!!! i'm just so excited :) i want to get russians.

  • work on your turnout

  • nice feet!

  • Damn, I want your instructor. I'm probably not getting to point for another year and a half. >>

  • those are pretty, but they look very stiff! i know they're new and all but still lol. anyway they look nice on your feet and good luck with your dancing! i wish any of the russians looked good on my feet bc i think they're very pretty, but unfortunately they look awful hahaa. oh well, my favorites are the suffolk solos. yours are so pretty tho (: have fun!

  • omg hold old were you when you start :)

  • Wow! Those DO look great on your feet! Nice work!!

  • wait.. is that a toe ring or something on your toe?

  • Those are stunning shoes!

  • guau que bonitos son las puntas nunca había visto unos iguales

  • They are beautiful shoes!! Russian Pointes are soo NICE! and You are doing great for dancing only for a little over a year! Great Job! Keep at it and Dance<3

  • Darling, you're more than fine. Your legs have that proper defined muscle tone to them--yes, I can tell from here. Your calves especially. You've got damned fine arches. Yeah, they're pretty.

I see you're not using music. You want to really be one with the dance, play the music while you do the ballet. Be one with it.

You're doing fine. Keep it up. It just means you're a l ballerina. I look at you, I see a professional ballerina.

--Unconditional Love From A Fellow Dancer, Dane Youssef

  • beautiful well done

  • you need to break them i think before you put them on becuase your feet are not going over the shoes:) x

  • u get right up on the flat of your shoes which is very important, what i like to when i get new pointe shoes is bend them wherer they hit the arch of my feet , i find this really helps, keep up the good work

  • they look beautiful on your feet. i like to double knot my drawstrings them snip them off so I don't have to deal with them at all in the future. just make sure it's a double know. I've ruined 2 pairs of ballet shoes because the elastic came untied XD

  • just a thought. i noticed that the drawstrings were sticking out a lot. the russian pointes come in two styles, u cut (drawstrings) and v cut (without drawstrings). go to your local dancewear store and try ordering them in a v cut. it's much less annoying.

  • 1st are they even broken in and if they're not u still look good

  • haha we had the exact opposite thing! my russians (first pair) weren't working out for me. then i got grishko 2007's and they're a lot better. good for you! not many people start en pointe at 20!

BY THE WAY---PLEASE WATCH MY POINTE VIDEO! RATE AND COMMENT :)

  • wow it sounds like you're going to break that oven your'e holding onto. you shouldn't be gripping the support or barre that much. and you need to learn to turn out from the hips...

  • Beautiful shoes and feet, they look great on you! But pull those drawstrings tighter, I see gaps! Tie them then tuck. Pull, tie, tuck!

  • very pretty shoe. you still with russian pointe?

  • you've only been dancing for a year and u already have pointe shoes?? wow impressive

  • i dont know if its because ur a good dancer or what but i think they are really good

  • can someone please tell me how you get on pointe so fast??? i want to learn ballet soon and my goal is 2 years then pointe at the most... hopefully

  • @ciel2468 It all depends how strong you are.

  • @ciel2468 thats a good goal!!! its not good to rush to get on pointe.. you have to be strong enough and have good technique. you have to find a good dance studio then take lots of classes and work on your flexibility and core strength!!

  • @ciel2468 There is no "fast track" to pointe if you have a good teacher. You will be put on pointe when your teacher feels you are ready. Some people have the strength and technique faster then others. The idea is to work hard and then when you are ready you will be on pointe.

  • @ciel2468 ive been doing ballet for 8 years (started when i was 5, im now 13) and i havent even gotten soft blocks yet. im still in flats, and i might have to wait 2 more years till i get them !! :( it can take very long, so don't get your hopes extremely high. good luck and keep dancing!! (or start, LOL!)

  • @ciel2468 it takes different amounts of time for everyone. usually you've had at least three years of training but it can be longer or shorter depending on the person. my friend was 16 and had done it for nine years before she went up. i started when i was 12 and was strong enough about 6 months later because i have good feet and had done swimming before and had really strong legs. just talk to your teacher. if he/she is any good he/she will help you find a way to achieve your goals.

  • @ciel2468 YEAH RIGHT. You can NOT be en pointe in 2 years. I got en pointe my 4th year and I went through 3 levels in one year. All i can say is do as many classes as u can... not only ballet, but lyrical and contemperary.

  • @ciel2468 not possible

  • @ciel2468 Well, I wish you the best of luck, but nobody on youtube can tell that, only your teacher can tell you :D Good Luck!!

  • @ciel2468 This is my first year of ballet and on my second week of class they said they wanted me on pointe, I have been on pointe for 2months now and I'm doing good for just starting they said. Just talk to your teacher about it, My school has a class just for people starting on pointe.

  • @ciel2468 I did ballet for about eight months before starting pointe. If you're an adult, it's much easier to go en pointe because your feet don't grow anymore and you're likely to have stronger feet. Good luck! How is ballet going for you?

  • @ciel2468 Ballet is a difficult art. You need to be willing to put in the dedication and work to be given the privilege of going en pointe.

  • what r those toepads called?

  • @dancergirl981 Those are Ouch Pouches by Bunheads. I have them. If you don't like a lot padding but still want comfort they're good.

  • your ribbons are way too long. same with your drawstring.

  • wow if you can get on pointe iin over 1 year than there still is hope for me :P

i'm 20 too and i just started ballet a little year ago.

and im hoping i can get on pointe within the next 5 years:D

and i can really see improvement compared to your first pointe try:D

  • Grishko's are terrible choices for a first pair of pointe shoes becuase they are too stiff unless you have very strong ankles wich most people just going into pointe really dont you really are suppose to start out with capezios

  • LOL at Lydia610's comment

  • those look good on your feet!!

  • Is this your first time ever doing pointe or are you just restarting after a break? Either way, you were doing really well! I would just say that especially with new shoes, it's best to start with just releves for a day or two of practicing until they're more broken in and that will make it easier to get over your box completely.

  • wow they look beautiful on your feet. i think they suit you really well. nice arches. (:

    gawjus!

  • PRETTY!! just try to like rol through your feet and push over you box!! amazing getting on piinte in like a year!! sam thing happened to me i started dance / balllet and after a year i like progressed to quickly i got on pointe! hah nice job!(:

  • turn out turn out turn out love. otherwise, this is an improvement from the grisko videos. however, i still think it looks like you need more training.

  • make sure u roll through ur feet when ur rise up to pointe, other than that they look hot:)

  • when tying your pointe shoes or any ballet shoes for that matter you need to cross the outside ribbon over the inside to increase arch suport

  • turn out like crazy. It'll look awesome then

  • make sure you always flex your foot when tie the ribbons

  • wow these shoes look like they fit you really well :)

  • i wouldnt call your arches high necessarily but you have good feet

  • tie the drawstrings...

  • im about to go on if my xrays r good (and grades too) then ill see if thise r good for my feet because i have high arches

  • u need to learn how to tie then right!

  • 3:15- 3:23

i know russians are hard to roll through pointe since theyre no designed to, but make sure when you go up on pointe that ur not rolling back through your pinky toes and then forward (sickling) its very bad for your ankles and a bad habit to start. But other than that great job! And i really do like those on your feet they look good. Just break them in more ;)

  • i have the RUBINS too.

i just got them last week.

    i love em.

i dont have the 'best arch' but these pointes make em look better.

hope you like em as much as i do!

  • i took ballet for 5 years and ive only been en pointe 4 about a yr now. . . .i would sugest you get a really solid foundation in classical ballet b4 trying to go en pointe

  • I have Russian Rubies too!! They look good on your feet. I have found them slightly hard to break in. It might be personal opinon. I have been dancing for threeish years and have decided to go en pointe. Keep up the great work!

  • I think that you before using the new grhiskos owe first smollarle it also accepts my friendship I use the Russian point shoes

  • i love those shoes they are so pretty and they look like they fit comfortably on your feet [:

  • Comment removed

  • WOAH! elastics....

  • watch lisahowell2's video on breaking in your pointe shoes, i think it would help you. they look good, but since they aren't broken in, they have not conformed to your arch...

  • beautiful shoes

  • They look a little bit long. There seems to be a lot of extra material around your heel. Make sure you're really rolling through demi pointe. It's hard in Jewel collection shoes, because they don't come in a "flex" shank, which is meant for rolling through demi pointe, but keep working on it :)

  • your pointes look great on your feet

  • hy im 17 n iv never done ballet, but i can do demi pointe with no shoes ( without dropping my arches), n i was wondering if i could still start ballet n get on to pointes within a year??

  • no, ive been doing ballet for about 8 1/2 years and i ve been on pointe for about a month

  • pretty =]

  • Absolutely pretty!!

  • I Love Those Pointe Shoes!

  • make sure you work through the shoe, don't jump onto pointe. good job tho! the shoes are so pretty. (:

  • i think they are looking good, but you need to work on more plés and to flex your shanks. also, work on going up straight because you're looking like youre a little twisted.

  • speaking on being a "a little old" I'm 50 and just getting started! My goel is to get up on pointe as soon as i am strong enough to pull up and keep my balance.

  • @Lydia610 awesome!!

  • @Lydia610 You go Lydia! I wish my mom or grandma would do that!

I'm sure you are very active! Well you go girl keep up the good work!

  • @Lydia610 Good LUCK!!

  • you need to break your pointe shoes in that way it will be easier to roll up onto pointe and it will also be safer that way

  • you need to break your pointe shoes in its easier to roll up that way im professional

  • im 16 and i have been on pointe since i was 10 by the way your really good but arent u a little old to be starting pointe

  • a little old? are you kidding? there's no age limit for ballet. you can start at whatever age and make it en pointe if you try hard enough. im 16 and im going to start ballet soon.

  • wow they fit you amazinglyy and you have a wonderful arch

it's really good that your 20 but you still want to learn pointe it gives hope to all the late starters to show that it is possible

  • non bisogna mai stringere le punte

    ti potresti fare male

  • veryy nicee!

they look great on your feet, and you're getting over the box well already

    what shank did you get?

i have these shoes and got the harder ones (FM)

  • haha I love how something was banging around on your eshapes.

anyway they look lovely on you. I agree, pre arched is amazing! You don't have to break the shank to wear them and you can still get over.

  • if ur feet look fantastic now... i imagine wat they'll look like when they're completely broken in!!! btw wat kind of padding do u use???

    xxxninoullaxxx

  • looked like ouch pouches

  • whoa it looks like those are gonna be killer to break in

  • Russians look like that but they've got a really soft box, so it doesn't actually take that long

  • they fit your feet beautifully!

  • OME!!!

Im Starting In March. Im 11 right now but In December I will be 12.

    i have a question:

I have a narrow heel and tapperd toe. What Pointe Shoes should i get ????

    PLZZZZZZZZZZ COmment back. . .

PS THEY LoOOOOOOK AMAZING ON YOU :D

  • Dont worry, the people at the dance store with asses your feet and they will, with your help, decide which pair is the best for your feet. :)

  • I have the same problem, get Russian Pointe Entradas if they fit. They're perfect for that type of heel and I LOVE them

  • GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice improvement since your first video. When you are going up on point from a side view around 3:17, it looks like you are rolling your ankle out and putting weight on the outside of your foot. Try to roll over the ball of your foot instead. It will also help strengthen your arch!

  • I love RPs, they're so pretty <3. My most recent pair (3rd pair) are RPs as well... Polettes :) They look really nice on you! Beautiful!!

  • your shoes are still new so your arches are not really looking so high. but they fit you very well.

  • holy moly girlfriend! u got some beautiful arches! im 12 and i got those same pair two days ago. considering they are pre arched they are EXTREMELY easy to break in! u probly know how to break them in by now and this trick is a "classic" i guess you could say. loook up "how to break in pointe shoes" on youtube and click on the one with a girl in a purple leotard. this really helped me to allow my feet to look beautiful just like yours! a little breakin' in and those babies will be dinomite!

  • i agree they do look great on your feet and you can tell that you have high arches because when you stand you arch is off thwe floor although it may be because the shoes dont fit right

  • if you were listening she said they were pre arched.

  • sorry but if you ask me, im not seeing the high arches :\

  • "which is great for people with high arches, like me." I'm sorry, hun, but your arches is not high.

But how is the durability of the russians? I am killing pointeshoes in a couple of weeks, and I need some that lasts.

  • when you tuck in your ribbons, tuck them in on top so that the knot isn't showing. professional companies will charge fee's if you have knots showing.

  • Hi ive been dancing for 11 years and been on pointe for 5 your feet look pretty, the only thing i would say is that your dancing on the outside of your shoe focus on ur big toe then itll be great

  • These look MUCH MUCH better! they fit your feet! ( I mean the style, not size) And you can actually arch your foot in these!

  • Very good tying skills! :D They look very good not even broken in very much! I can't wait to see how pretty they look broken in!

  • OMG I love russian pointes! I have entradas. They're absolutley gorgeous and the people there fit you so well. Yours look very nice. :)

  • wear some socks! so bad for your feet if you don't

  • actually.. ur not supposed to wear socks.. DUH. only padding or gel pads... and your tights.. thats it.

  • It all depends on what works for your feet.

Point being that you shouldn't just go without anything because it is bad for your feet if you don't.

I personally don't like Gel pads because they bulk up my shoe and it's uncomfortable. So i use animal wool.

    It really all depends.

  • yeah but its not smart to wear socks becuase you're not supposed to be allowed to use them because the dress code in ballet must be strict. no socks... in my academy we're not even allowed to use the gel pads.. we can use a special padding like paper or something else.. so yeah our feet are mostly screwed up.

  • Yeaaah. For schools that aren't all ballet like mine its ok to do it for practicing. obviously you're not gonna wear socks on the stage... and oucch. sounds sore.

  • you're so gay... too bad we're dating...

  • you are way better now than before on ur past videos

  • holy crappp only a year of dancing???? im so jelouss. i have to wait a LONG LONG time before i go on pointe

  • i started this year and am already en pointe :) it all depends on ankle strengh

  • me too!!

  • Wow, You're really good. I hope to someday be able to dance in pointe shoes. :) Keep up the good work!

  • i had russians for a while. yours look nice on you. mine were fine, i just have a hard time with the gradations of shanks in this brand: mediums are too hard for me, and soft os too soft, that kind of thing. i went back to gaynors after almost three years and am loving my pointe classes so much more now that im not struggling with my shoes.

  • wow you went from the 2007's to the Rubins?? O.o the 2007's are tapered and the rubins have a wide platform.

that aside these look great on your feet XD but before dancing in them (even a little) you should really bend the shank to conform to your arch.

  • when you tie your pointe shoes you should kneel up and tie your ribbons while your leaning forward on your leg because otherwise the ribbon is more likely to loosen as you dance :-)

  • Hey! Umm.. I want to get pointe shoes but my parents sais im silly to even ask, but they said they would get me a pair anyways. I have really wide feet with a high arch. I dont know what pair to get, so please tell me what brand would be best for my feet. Thank you soo much!

    `Rosalie.

  • do you even take ballet? doesn't sound like you do. getting pointe shoes untrained is a very bad idea, you could break your ankle. ballet students don't go en pointe until their instructor allows them to when they are strong enough and have a good enough technique.

    think about your own safety.

  • she just said she takes ballet; why would she lie? Don't acuse people of things that you don't know about.

  • flyingwind66's comment was aimed at someone who commented 4 months ago..

  • muy second pair of pointe shoes were russians as well....they are very nice hard shoes

  • they look nice on ur feet but two of my friends have had them and one of my friends pair was dead ofter three classes so they tend not to last a long time if u r on for more then 1 hour a class or more

  • how long a shoe lasts is different for each person. your friend might have killed them quickly but for another they might last way longer.

  • I have this same pair of pointe shoes and I love them!! They last a long time which is nice. They look really good on your feet and for just starting a few months ago you're doing really good

  • Thanks! I really like them, too. I love the way they look on my feet! Thanks for the comment!

  • Very beautiful. They look great on your feet.

  • Wow they are soooo beautiful. Unfortunately we don't have chance to get them here in Austria :(

  • Gorgeous! I've never tried Russians (I use Grishko) but I've always thought they were so pretty. Is there a reason why your ribbons are sewn so far back? It might be a lot more supportive for you if they were sewn closer to the middle seam of the shoe to hug it to your arch. (IMHO) But I think they look fantastic on you...happy dancing!

  • That is just the way that the lady at the dance store sews them on. They hadn't really bothered me. Thanks!

  • Great video! I like them on your feet too! I'm thinking about getting Russians for my next pair also... =)

The demi pointe looks really hard on those! Did you get the kind that is hard all the way across the shank, or the kind that has little cut outs in the shank for the demi pointe?

You're getting up on your boxes well for a brand new pair of shoes, keep up the good work! =)

  • I am not sure actually. I haven't broken them in at all, that's why they look so hard.
