  • nice dude u r awesome i built a little canon on school but i can't find black powder or gun cotton kan u please help me? ps what can I use as projectile ? thanks for effort

  • @hgfjtdjhtd687369876 I use FFF blackpowder for both my cannon and Kentucky long rifle that I purchase at a local gun shop. I wrap the powder in tin foil shape it like a egg ram down the barrel, pierce the tinfoild with a punch at the touch hole and slide my fuse into it. For the cotton or "patch" I use either muzzle loader patches or cut and oil cotton cloth. For projectiles I have a mold I made or sometimes we shoot corn kernals at targets like you would in a shotgun match

  • sweet canon man

  • nice video... nice craftsmanship ... thats funny all you need is some binding ... yeah we just tied this ole pipe onto this ole stump ... rofls

beutiful ... i'd be proud to have that thing sitting next to my front porch ... must of took months to hand build all the parts from scratch ... thanks for posting real neat stuff ... i can just picture the thousands charging at each other with nothing but one round ball in the chamber and a sword ... holy crap they musta been seriously drunk ... amazing

  • nice workshop!

  • By the the time the cannon fires the war would be over.

  • Get real.

I got a 3bore [1-5/32in.] machine steel 9in. long I load with 500grains of ffg and hide behind a tree to fire.

    IT'S LOUD!

    Your just too safety, Dave...

Don't get hurt but the greatest risk in life is not taking one.

    HAVE FUN!

  • omg u where firing a cannon on 9/11 (same year) so when u where shooting that cannon a plane was going into the side of the wtc

  • looks very authentic..good job

  • @jasperwasd never intended to make history, just tried to re-create some of it, and Thank you on good job.

  • designing a cannon is one of those things that seems like it would be hard when in reality its really easy and straightforward. All you basically need is a metal tube, fuse, wheel, and some binding/filling material.

  • @harshLesson Actually there is a bit more to it than you think. Check out a site call cannonmania they have info on wall thickness, breech pressure ect

  • love the music.....im biased i guess :)

  • u should have made on september 11 '01

  • I like the rims on that Cannon!

  • ahaha 5:07 september 11

  • Beautiful work of art. Very pretty. I was quite impressed w/ the fine finish and realism of it all and the report didn't sound half bad. Well done.

  • win

  • Gentlemen, I love! ... the Bagpipe music with the cannon.

    It is beautiful and inspiring.

    I have 4-5 Bagpipe C.D.'s being 'a Hamilton'.

    And I am a mastermarksman.

All I need is a cannon!

    God bless. J. Knife 'vonmessermaker'

  • wow Really good work but how calls the song?

  • how calls this sound?

  • Introduction was awsome funny.. Heheh lol

  • I Like It! I Definatly Need One!

  • Awesome, dude!

  • Thank you !!

  • Very very nice job. That is an incredible piece of work and I'm sure you had alot of fun building it. Will you be selling any cannons by any chance something smaller like the Ardesa black powder cannon from

    Cruisader77

  • Thank you !!!!!! I'm almost finished putting my new shop together and firing up the lathe so I'll deffinately be building soon again.

  • What a beauty, Great job building, to make something so beautiful, yet so powerful, what an honor, Great job, I bet you have that sitting in the back yard for decoration, Congrats on your making, looks great.

Wish you the best of luck in your later pyrotechnic creations.

  • Thank you ! and actually it lives in the house LOL when I built that I used a friend of mines metal lathe, but this summer I purchased my own lathe, 1950 Craftsman metal lathe in mint condition so as soon as my new shop is finished i'll post some video of all the new goodies !

  • RAWRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. msg me!!!!!!!!!! :O)

    LOL what!! X.x Wv

  • the last 1 sounded like a 20 calibar

  • Shoulda known you would like blowing crap up.

    Karen :P

  • lol FIRE IN THE HOLE

  • ive got a stone late 16th centuary grapshot round.

  • the date is 9/11

  • I wish i could make of of those

  • very nice!!! how did you make the barrel?

  • The barrel, and the trunions, I made on a horizontal metal lathe, (at bout 1:05 in the vid you can see the steel an pine block I started with)after the barrel an trunions were turned, I used a verticle mill to mill the center spots in the barrel where the trunions would set in place, and tig welded them in. The barrel straps were also done on a vertical mill from solid steel stock.

  • nice stuff! any clue on the velocity the projectile has on the muzzle?

  • No sorry I do not, I shoot a .75 lead ball at 200 grains of FFP black powder. Beyond that I have never tried to calulate the velocity.

  • i built a homemade cannon as well, it is .50 cal and 40 inches long fired with 56 grains of BP and a marble it is surprisingly accurate at 25 yards and with a cast lead ball it wet straight thru a 2x4

look for the musket barrel test number 2 video on my page.

  • Thank you, I checked out your video also, any idea what the wall thickness of your barrel is?

  • A1 top shelf.

  • Thank you very much, hopefully soon I am able to build the limber to go along with the cannon.

  • really nice great job. i have 4 small cannons but not as nice as yours. again great job

    Barry

  • Thank you, I checked out your vid, nice looking cannon.

  • The most patriotic and coolest home made proyect Id ever seen...

Shit,I feeled nostalgic with the music as the cannon fired,I almost shout"take that, red coats bastards!"

  • LoL thank you, I must say your comment is one of the best ive had too, thanks again.

  • dude thats freaking awsome!!!

  • Thanks !!

  • wish i had a metal lathe still, you would think they would be too heavy for burglars to haul off but mine apparently wasnt.

  • how did you build the cannon

    i want one to

  • That's a really beautiful gun you made, I'm impressed.

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • Good!...wanna see a homemade gun ...watch: "Mosquete Casero (homemade musquet)"

  • Very good job! Congratulations! And thanks !

  • Thank you, I may post some more video soon, been trying to edit some more. Thanks again.

  • that thing is awesome!!! is it legal owning something like that? how do u make a more simple homemade 1?

  • Wow im impressed this is marvellous how did you create of course you explain in the video but i mean the equipment the metal cannon where did it come from and there is a thing i dont understand what do you mean by grain?

  • Thank you,The barrel and trunions I turned and bored out on a metal lathe. You can see the original piece of cold roll steel before any work to it sitting on a piece of pine that I used to make the dummy carriage near the begining of the video. As for "grains" grains is the term used for the amount of blackpowder used when loading it for firing. I'd be glad to answer any more questions for you, just drop me a line.

  • Fine craftsmanship! Love the music!!

  • Thank you, it was awesome to build, and still to this day the red oak carriage just gleams when I polish it.

  • lol couldve been better music and i liked the vid

  • Thank you !!!

  • Great job on the cannon.

  • Nice cannon mate. If the world goes to war, you'll be prepared.

  • looks really real !
