I agree, Spec. I am from the old school. So many of the comments on this song and the put-down of the artist, come from the internet. @RexHesch im a gordon lightfoot fan from teh word go. there was a pardoy a while back under misheard lyrics, it was called ghost of gay porn. i chiuckled, as im sure mr lightfoot did. too. but can no longer find it. i have had most of my lightfoot videos threatened with copyright infringement, but ive got them back under fair use law

thomasj157 had an absolutely fabulous set of Gordon Lightfoot videos on youtube but I believe they were threatened with copyright infringement and removed them. They were very well done videos with the best recorded version of the song. It was their goal to put up every song that he ever wrote. Infuriating and tragic.

I really dig almost every song Gord has written - but this one is strangely in my top five - just saw him in SC - first time since 1981! He's still got it - mesmorized for 2 hours in Row 4. The minstral was on, Bobbie Magee was there - the liquor tasted good.........
