Some people are mixed with a set of features that are predominantly european so they classify themselves as white even thou they might have a darker skin. In the case of Colombia or Costa Rica if you go to the coast there will be a lot of blacks, but in the highlands (where the majority live) very few are black.

Some people are mixed with a set of features that are predominantly european so they classify themselves as white even thou they might have a darker skin. I miss Brasil so much it was such a good time in my life, meeting so many people with nothing that were so happy, it really opened my eyes from my sheltered life in North America.

@kellyannabama I'm from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. As I said, in Brazil half is black. It all depends to where you went. Even inside the countries it varies a lot. In the case of Colombia or Costa Rica if you go to the coast there will be a lot of blacks, but in the highlands (where the majority live) very few are black.

The condition are awful, these people should respect the countries and invest in education for the children otherwise Brazil will end up like the US & UK with a broader divide. @ladylordess First the easy fact. If you are in the top 10% you earn about $115K per year. (IRS fact - not pulled from my ass by the way). So a raise in taxes won't affect you. And if that raise ever happens it only goes back to the pre-W Bush rate of 39.6% for the highest earners. Some how this country did fine economically when those rates were in place.
