He was concerned that a grounded helicopter, which was set to turn on, was going to decapitate him, and wouldn't do the scene until someone explained to him that it was "very unlikely.......but possible!"

It sounds like he really was. Maybe like a long day of shooting, or it's around 3-4 in the morning. They work at least 14-15 hours a day. Were they rehearsing at the time or was this a real scene and the D.O.P. actually walked in front of the camera? In any case he's been taking some pointers from Vincent D'Onfrio (sp?), another spoiled actor, and both fo them need to chill. Yeah they're both great but it also counts how you act in real life.

I sympathise with Mr. Bale, he has a point, but the only reason to go that long over it is if the photographer guy was overtly projecting an unresponsive or dismissive reaction to the complaint in the first place, which may have happened if he was as catatonically in his own world as Mr. Bale was hoping to be in his.
