  • lol at the people who took this video seriously. really, guys? REALLY?

  • you all know this video isn't for real right?

  • @bluesmann8 - No, many people actually believe stuff like this. I used to go to a church where they taught baseless doctrines about tithing exactly like this every Sunday morning. This video is a part of the new prosperity gospel movement and the false "seed faith" doctrine. There is absolutely no Scriptures that support tithing for the New Testament believer.

  • galatians 3 23 Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24 So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ[h] that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

there it is, clear as a bell

  • I don't claim to know everything but this one thing I do know-You cannot be Redeemed from the Curse of the Law and still cursed by not keeping the law because one would cancel out the other. Since Galatians 3:13-14 was the last verses written I'd have to say the Malachi 3:7-8 curse is voided!

If not why are you not keepng the Sabbath Frid.eve. till Sat at sunset)?

Adultery was a capital offense with death by stoning. A lot of Christians would be dead. Thank God for His daily Grace!

  • So there's a admission price to get into heaven?

  • Romans 8:32 Since God did not spare His own Son but gave him up for us all surely He will also with Him (Jesus) FREELY GIVE US ALL THINGS.

33 Who can bring a charge against the Lord's elect?.....

I support giving but not paying. Jesus already did the paying.

You cannot find 1 verse after he died that he commanded keeping the tithe law!

Matt:23:23 was before he died and fulfilled the law!

Jesus said: Paid in full. Notice He did Not say on thCross partially paid & partially finished!

  • Colossians 2 :14 "by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

Galatians 2:16 " yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified"

Gal.3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

  • wtf? really? saying no to blessings? haha. go read the bible. I live by grace not by law.

  • LOL

  • What kind of commercial is this. Is this a skit from SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. I cannot believe that this church is basically saying that if you do not give them money you are not welcome there.

  • Strange they nailed the commandments to their cross.

But the tithing law fall off it.

  • b.s,

  • more donuts for you more cushing for the priest!!!!

  • The Bible also says that those who received the Tithe were:

Levites and Priests, the poor, widows, orphans, and aliens. It was meant to feed those who could not provide for themselves.

In fact, only a tenth of the tithe (1%) went to the Storehouse, contrary to contemporary Christian teaching.

Nor is it the first tenth. Lev 27:32 says that the tenth animal that passed under the rod was holy to the LORD. Those who had less than 10 did not Tithe. And only those who had crops or herds tithed.

  • Dude seemed pretty pissed about those donuts.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, the Bible commands that once a year the Hebrews use their tithes to have a hell of a party, and to use these holy tithes to buy strong drink! Or whatever they lust for! "Then shalt thou turn it into money... And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice" Deuteronomy 14 22-26
  • a offering and a tithe is two different things. There is no tithe under christ, its giving. What a stupid vid! coffee and danish anyone? lol! this had to be a parody. bowling? What about the poor ,sick and the hungry? Every strike and spare you get , you've done it unto me.

sounds like scripture to me. "not"

  • @bluesmann8 it is a parody.

  • @shellygrrl you'd be supprised how many churches are like that in the vid.. faith is nothing to joke about. many will be lost, nothing funny there!

  • @bluesmann8 i know many churches are like that. and yeah, it's wrong. (mine is one of those that pushes tithing.)

i disagree -- to a point -- that "faith is nothing to joke about." sometimes, IMO, one needs to laugh at themselves. churchianity's methods can be absolutely ridiculous. satire is a way to bring them to light.

i also disagree that "many will be lost". many will be separated from god for the eons (mistranslated "eternal"), but they'll be brought back. (see parable of the lost sheep)

  • @bluesmann8 the beatings, the meat being ripped from his body, the spit in his face. hair being pulled out., not to funny imo. also said that it is hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom. even the poorest of the poor here in the U.S. is considered rich to most of the world boy! we take a lot for granted don't we?

  • And you have people in the pews with holes in their shoes, and struggle to feed their families. Shame on you!!! Tithing was for the jews, was always given as food. The people need the word not fancy stuff. A rich building that has people shopping second hands stores while the church is fat is an abomination. Woe unto scribes and pharisees. Woe unto you, that take from the poor, and place a yoke upon their knecks, the judgment of God will not be merciful, repent and give back to the poor...

  • This is great, subtle satire....I think ;-)

That being said, if redeemed by the Law, give by the Law. If redeemed by Grace, give by Grace.

  • New Testament Store House = Pastor's Wallet

  • What in the world??? LOL

  • LMAO

  • Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

  • Mat 4:4 It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

    Okey,for who?...for your pastor?..

  • I did'nt realise that I had to EAT DOGHNUTS.

  • So glad to have found you!! I LOVE RAGAMUFFINS!!!

  • and how do you suppoase that money will come about?

GOD WILL WORK IN HIS PEOPLE. duhness.

those doughnuts are not for you.

  • if god needs money, then he should just make some that shouldn't be to much of a problem for him.

oh and if the church needs money then just pray to god in jesus's name that's one shure way to get it.

because jesus says.... I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my

name, and I will do it.

  • what a crap church ,tithing is not in the new testament , and Jesus never paid tithe or temple tax ,, have a bit of faith instead of screwing the congregation , its people like you who give Christianity a bad name

  • Did you read the description?

    Category: Comedy

    So no donuts for you!

  • sorry , but the donut illustration IS used in churches and by a few preachers ive heard !

Usually along the line of you have 10 donuts and you give God one , because he made all the donuts , but 9 holy donuts are worth more than 10 regular e.c.t so any way donuts now ring alarm bells

    sorry

  • I'm sorry to hear that (so many) people distort the Word like that.

  • This is a GOOD DOZE of condemnation.

  • the korean churches i've been to offer free lunch whether we tithe or not. if yr church is a mega church where the pastors ride bmw and mercedes, plz dont be so stingy with donuts and coffee.

  • is this a parody?

  • For whomever marked this s'pam...exactly how is this s'pam?

And...I thought Jesus came to fulfill the law. How did this exactly change? Remember Ananias and Sapphira....

  • Read Acts chapter 4, to see how the early Church was funded. It wasn't by the Tithe. They didn't give 10%. NONE of the Apostles taught ANYONE to Tithe.

Jesus mentioned the Tithe only twice, and it was to those still under Law. And even then, He did not say "well done". He called them "hypocrites". Read Luke 18: 11-14 and Matthew 23:23

The only other time the Tithe is mentioned in the New Testament is in Hebrews 7, where Abraham gave to Melchizedek a tenth of the PLUNDER.

  • why not use my tithe and buy my own donuts??... and i could actually share with a friend or two

  • Here's my question...where does it say in the New Testament that the believers gave 10% of all of their possessions to Paul, Silas, Timothy, John, Peter, etc???

Anyone? I seem to recall Paul thanking the believers for helping him along the way, and giving when there was a NEED, not merely a compulsory 10% of everything going to Paul! People gave freely, and there was clear cut evidence to see how the resources are being used. But bowling alleys, coffee shops, private jets, and rolls royces?

  • Jacob never paid tithes but he made a vow to God Gen. 28:20-22

does not ask for money but fruit and vegtables and meat. Deut. 12:6-7).

levites were the only ones were worthy to take T AND Offerings and the tithes were for the poor...not church building and getting more members to take money from them.Leviticus 27:30-33

GIVE WHAT YOU HAVE, NOT WHAT YOU DONT HAVE.(II Cor. 8:10-12, The Living Bible).

    II Chronicles 31:5, 6, 12

So study the scriptures before you judge me.The old law is gone.

  • That's Right!

  • Besides. Jesus didn't tell the rich young ruler to sell what he had and give the money to him and his disciples. He said give it all to the poor. That's the problem in church now. We're not taking care of the poor. we just want the latest technology in the church. Don't you realize how easy it would be to invite people to church to get their needs met. Wake up man. You need to sell that coffee shop and your bowling alley and meet the needs of the poor. You're obviously too rich.

  • I agree!

  • This is absolute foolishness. The new testament does not give instruction on tithing. Tithing is an old testament commandment and it never involved money. it involved food, cattle, & crops. that's why God said he would rebuke the devour, he was talking about the pests that eat and destroy crops. Whenever the church in the new testament gave, the leaders distributed what was given to the people so that nobody had lack. It wasn't just money. Too many preachers today are focused on money.

  • @Touchblevins Wow, this video flew right over your head, huh?

  • I'm glad I don't go to that church!

  • as long as the tithe is given with understanding, it will bless the giver. But a warning to the church. and specailly the mega churches. Do not base your church by the tithe. I know a church that's collapsing because all the rich people in the church is moving out to another church.

  • Todays tithing practise cannot be validated by the bible.Makes on wonder where it come from. devon

  • This is a terrible video. So the congregation (not th church-the body of Christ of course) decides who should get what based on tithing?

If this is not as legalistic as the concept Pharisees had about tithing, what else is it? Jesus when multiplied bread and fish did not ask for tithing. He just gave!

  • I have left my testimony on tithing on my channel

  • i'll give god money when god holds HIS hand out.

  • Reminds me of a joke where a Priest, a Minister, and a Rabbi talk about what they do with their collections.

The first says he draws a circle on the ground, throw the money in the air, and gives to charity everything that lands inside. What lands outside is his salary.

The second says he draws a circle and throws the money in the air too. But he gives whatever lands outside the circle, and keeps for himself what lands inside.

The third says he does the same, but whatever God wants, he keeps.

  • Short and sick- the donuts are not for you.

Too holey for non tithers are they?

So, do non tithers get a muffin for givin nuffin?

Or do you just starve their heathen...?

Thought tithes were gathered so they could be distributed to the poor and widows- isn't that what Stephen the guy who gets stoned to death was doing, distibuting?

    Donuts. Indeed.

  • Very interesting, google 9/11 Truth! Find out what the mainstream media has been keeping from us. Hope to see you at a 9/11 Truth event!

  • Tithe also pays for electric bills, rent, property taxes, phone bill, salaries, supplies, and many other things besides doughnuts. lol

  • Sadly, this was never the intent for the tithe, which was used to feed the people. If a specific assembly cannot have the building without manipulating the members to parting with 10% of their income, they should use their homes instead.

  • That's just what they did in the New Testament. They met in people's homes, and focused on following God, not on getting money to build buildings.

  • Funny!, but true.

It's so said, the mega church is nothing more than a religous mall. You can have it your way and be amused all at the same time.

  • Amen! LOL!

  • well!!!! LOL!!!!!!

  • LOL!!!

  • They should show this before every offering at every church LOL!

  • lol! This is a joke right? A parody or something?...

  • A sure pimp preaching pimpology.

  • I think I used to go to that church!! LOL

  • I almost got kinda upset, before I realized that this was a joke!

    *whew*

  • !LOL!

  • !lol! big screen tv's & doughnuts

  • WHAT!!!

  • Tithe is a law commandment Hb (7:5). The law is ended (2º Co 3:14; Gl 3:23-25; Hb 7:11-12).

Who practices law commandments has fell from Christ's grace (Gl 5:4).

  • Tithing began 400 years before the law was even givin. Abraham paid tithes to Melkezedek. You just dont want to do what THE WORD SAYS

  • The law of circumcision was given 400+ yrs before the Mosaic law as well, do you practice circumcision?

  • "The latest in video technology. A comfortable, modern building with stadium seating. And a bowling alley for the youth group." And he considers running a church today expensive?

Not really...just leave out the bowling alleys, latest video technologies, and stadium seatings. And some wonder how would church bills/expenses get paid without our "tithes."

  • Just pray that these guys will see the light of the Spring Feasts of the Lord so they have a understanding of these twisted teachings. I was a faithful tither for years and years and I gave cheerfully, joyously, and abundantly right up till the day I went bankrupt. I felt inside something was wrong and after seeking Gods wisdom I see where there are many errors in this teaching. But some people believe it and all will understand after the fulfillment of Zechariah 8:23. So let them teach!!!!

  • Tithing is today's church is a FALSE TEACHING designed to fleece the flock of God.

Anyone who continue in the tithe lie been bewitched by false teachers and greedy minister who care more about your money than your soul.

Jesus never commanded Pastors to receive money tithes, nor did he or his followers give tithes or taught people to tithe.

Open your eye's people, tithing today is a SCAM.

The store house was in Jerusalem, not the USA.

Tithing was a law that carried a Curse.

    WAKE UP!!!!!!

  • Check out some videos on my channel that deal with the subject of tithing, you'll be blessed.

Don't be deceived by false teachers in sheeps clothing trying to persuade you into tithing money.

Tithing was about food, grains, livestock, fruits and vegetation, NOT MONEY.

No where in the bible did God decree that tithing is a system used to finance/fund churches in the USA or a system on how to get money blessings.

  • The Bible says that where your treasure is there your heart will be also. The purpose of tithing is to free yourself from the spirit of mammon and to exercise faith in God, what it really comes down to is... do you trust God to provide for you? And it is common for men to put their money in the thing that they love. God gives us wealth for a reason.

  • " The purpose of tithing is to free yourself from the spirit of mammon and to exercise faith in God"

You a liar and you'll give account for adding to God's word.

You've been deceived by a false teacher. What you said 100% FALSE.

You religious people love to twist scripture. LOL

If you really believe and trust God to provide for you, then quit your job and live by faith. LOL

Stop the nonsense, you're talking to a Man of God who know the scriptures.

Want the truth, go to my channel.

  • Whoa there! Lets not get into name calling.

I haven't called you any names so plz lets be civil. I have only stated the understanding that i have come to of the scriptures from what i have read.

  • And i haven't added to God's word does it not say, that a man cannot serve two masters? ie. speaking about God and mammon (one translation of mammon is wealth or money). By giving to God and supporting His work in church planting and such. And Jesus Christ when rebuking the phrasisees, said they were right to tithe so Jesus Christ endorsed tithing Himself.

  • C'mon bro your getting abit silly now, quit my job? I realise that your joking but still.

And anyway The Bible says in Timothy that the man that doesn't work shouldn't eat. And your job is i believe the avenue for God to bless you (i mean you in the general sense). And why is it nonsense? Because it differs from your view?

  • The store house was the place where the people got fed spiritually and for us the New Testament church it is our church that is the storehouse.

Jesus did endorse tithing, He said to the pharisees that they should tithe.

Tithing predates the law, carried on through it and carries on now (as it should). We ought to tithe (sorry if you don't like that). But it is right.

  • Tithing is a principle of honouring God, not a law!!! And to those who do honour God it carries a blessing not a curse. It has enabled the fellowship that i'm part of to plant churches in something like 136 countries. Which might not have been possible if people hadn't given, all the precious souls that makeup these congregations might not have had their lives impacted if people hadn't given.

  • Jesus did not endorse tithing. You are taking that out of context. The pharisees WERE required to tithe, they were Jews. Jesus fulfilled tithing when he fulfilled the law.

The store house was not the place where the Jews were spiritually fed, it was a store house.

Tithing predates the law, so does circumcision. Both of these were incorporated into the law and fulfilled with Christ's death.

Tithing has not enabled anything for your fellowship - giving has. No one is saying not to give.

  • Face the truth, most IDIOTS give thousands to the church every year. This allows TV preachers to have millions, and private jets. It allows local pastors a free ride in luxury. If you ask them for a penny ONCE to help keep your lights on, they faint, then refuse you. My family gave thousands when we were idiots!!! What do we Christians get for the millions we give every week? DONUTS, AND AN ENVOLOPE ASKING FOR MORE MONEY!!!! NOT FUNNY, BUT TRUE!!!

    JUST ME

  • Giving to the church it's not about the money, It's about showing your faith in God. We live in a world that base success on money and material things, and sometimes people who believe in God forget that God is our provider, and by tithing and fasting, your showing your faith in God. It doesn't matter if the church uses the money foolishly, God will deal with them. Just pray and ask God and God will lead you to the right church.

  • God did NOT invent the tithe for donuts, or for pastors, or TV preachers. It was to feed the priest, and the hungry. Money was never tithable in the first place. People read your bible, it will set you free. Give to the poor when you can afford to in Jesus name. That is what God really wants. Let satan keep his bowling allies, and donuts!!! God wants our HEART, not our money. However, yes if you can afford to help the poor, God does expect it.

    JUST ME

  • Ok here is the FINAL WORD on this subject. Tithing is NOT commanded by God to the church and NEVER WAS!!! If these TV preachers or local pastors truly believed the doctrine of give to get money from God. Tell me, WHY DONT THEY JUST TAKE THERE MILLIONS EVERY WEEK AND GIVE IT TO GOD? Wouldnt God then have to give it back from 10 to 100 fold? This is what they all teach. So why dont they live it??? They are greedy LIARS after money This is part 1.....

    JUST ME

  • The new testament says in the end days PREACHERS would make up great stories/LIES to STEAL YOUR MONEY. The bible also says, turn away from anyone who teaches that GAIN/MONEY is Godliness. They say God wants you to be wealthy. They teach if you are poor then your spiritual life is in bad condition. Yes they do tell crazy stories every day before the offering plate is passed. Stories like, I gave $1000 to this preacher, and God gave me a $100.000 car from a stranger..... This is part 2

    JUST ME

  • How about PLANT A SEED, and ask God to save your loved ones soul? That is selling salvation, pure and simple! I regurly

hear preachers say, plant a seed/money for your loved ones healing! WHAT ABOUT THE BIBLE, WHERE IT SAYS, "FREELY" YOU HAVE RECIEVED IT, FREELY GIVE IT! I am a Christian who believes the bible.Everything God gives is FREE to us, JESUS PAID THE PRICE,Did Jesus die to build bowling allys? As he said, they only followed him because he fed them, hint donuts.

    JUST ME

  • "Today's ministers want us to tithe like Israelites yet they refuse to live like Levites" - unknown

  • tithing is incorrect and misleading, check my video on "true giving" and you will find freedom! not legalism....take care!

  • What these wolves in sheep's clothing won't teach about the tithing they love so much is that God commanded the tither to eat the tithe, to throw a big party with it and buy whatever his heart desired with it.

Read it yourself in Deut. 14.

If you can read plain English then it becomes apparent that the modern custom of tithing isn't found anywhere in scripture, but it is useful to those who would make merchandise of the saints of God.

  • I liked the part about the coffee not for me. Where do they come up with this s_ _ t!!!

  • Tithing was Old T. income tax. Its not for the Church. 2 Corinthians 9:7 niv

"Each man should give what HE HAS DECIDED in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

That is saying we should give... But, not as a set tax.

  • If less than a penny was 10% or more of her income, she's fine. If it's less, then she'll go to Hell with all of you, cheap believers who can only ask of God but never give to His Holy Plan for this earth. Let's conquer the world for Jesus!!!

  • You must tithe or you'll go to Hell! Jesus hates cheap believers!

  • Where did Jesus say or Paul or any of the apostles say that your gonna go to hell for not taking $50 out of your $500 check from work to give???????

  • The Bible is the word of God. Jesus was one with God, therefore, God himself. The Old Testament mandates tithing. Give the money or you'll go to Hell!!!

  • So if I give more than 10% of what i earn Im going to go to hell?? If I get as stated in my ealier post $500 from my job or business and give $70 or $100 from that. Does that mean im going to hell cause I didnt give $50 lol no one is saying dont give nothing. read the book of Galatians, read 2 Corinthians 9

  • If you give more than 10%, then that's generous of you. But if you give less, you'll go to Hell!!!

  • My friend, God chooses who goes to hell. You have no right to say that people who do not tithe go to hell, if you want, please support it with God's own words (i.e. Him saying it) but try to not do it yourself.

  • Only leviets can except tithes and offerings wich there is noboday that has traced the family tree or prove they are a levite its in the bible and also we have been forgiving of all debts and taxes in the new testament and we are to give from our hearts but tithing is in the old testament and they didnt tithe money rubies or diamonds they tithes burnt offerings and food.

  • Tithing is not for Christians. Tithing was the tax system in the old covenant to provide for the levitical Priesthood. The Tithe was ONLY food. As Believers we are in the new covenant. We are no more under the Law of Tithing, instead we are under the Grace of Giving. See 2. Cor 8&9.

  • Tithing is not what Christ is about. Tithing is a way for men to make money. Maybe a buck. Who cares about donuts. THe money goes to pay for the rich minister's fancy sports cars and holidays.

I never tithe to a minister. Tithe by giving to help the poor and needy, for this is what Christ did.

  • Yeah, that was kind of the point of the video...?

  • wonderful vid...I agree 100%

  • Strawman. I would not visit an institutional church of any sort for doughnuts, coffee, stadium seating, the audio-visual equipment, or any other such materialistic item.

  • Church is when Christ and his people come together. Period.

Any size, even 2 or 3 "in his name" (his nature, character, spirit) will do.

Live generously as a way of life, and take the journey of life with other believers seeking after his Heart.

It's all there in the Word.

  • And we're all in "full-time" ministry under God.

Paul was the essential Christian teacher of the New Testament church... and he had a day job as a tent maker to pay his living expenses.

No does it anywhere say anything about presenting a message to the same group of people, in the same place, at the same time, each and every week.

Neither Jesus, his disciples nor the apostle Paul do this or tell us to, so why is all this considered essential today?

  • The temple of the holy Spirit in the New Testament is the believers hearts, and their is no longer a special building with a special staff. The New Testament emphasizes the priesthood of all believers and the body of Christ as a whole sharing with "one another."

There is no tithe in the New Testament or the Church of the bible.

No building is called for, so no bills that need to be payed.

  • Giving and sharing are the things the New Testament emphasizes. In the old testament the Isrealite's government was a theocracy and religious, therefore the tithe was their equavilent of a tax. It also went to pay the priests in the temple.

That's the Old Covenant. With the New Covenenat, Jesus died on the cross and now God's presence is no longer limited to a special place in a physical location (the temple).

  • i at first couldn't tell if they were joking if they were for real at first. but then i went to the website and found out that they were being sarcastic. That is funny. I laughed no matter what my initial thoughts were.

  • I agree that tithing 10% is not what God wants. He wants everything, just like the widow who gave everything she had. Look at the story of the rich young ruler. Notice Jesus did NOT say "sell everything you have, TITHE, give to the poor, and follow me". Ummm...

  • Is this serious? it seems like a joke, hard to tell these days with the fundies and all

  • I prefer MY video on tithing...I'd post it as a response, but I'm guessing they won't allow it. LOL

  • LOL! You can keep the donuts. Tithing is not a compulsion, and those who teach otherwise will have to answer for fleecing Christians.
