None taken. I will give props to The Saturdays because they obviously like and respect Depeche Mode enough to cover their song to score a hit, dare I say their highest charting one? They obviously have good taste in music and I don't think they share your appraisal of the quality of Depeche Mode's original; otherwise, they would not have covered it. : )

Chart postions mean nothing :) thats all marketing! the best groups are the ones that make their own music, grow a decent enough fanbase and carry on for many years to come :) I think the Sugababes have a chance! The video was done to the original demo. Then the management came to us and asked us to do a more current version, so we got the guitars out and the management have chosen this version for the single which is a few BPM faster so the video is being re-edited to fit this guitar version. The Wideboys

I dont want to sound negative but this version is no where near as good as the saturdays version that is on their site, the timing is all over the place, the feel is all wrong. The introduction of the guitars is good but the speed just doesnt feel right.

Its an ok version. Personally i love the saturdays, and to be fair there isnt really a lot they could have done to the song to make it their own. Also, because its for Comic relief, isn't it meant to be 'cheesy' and somewhat silly? It's just supposed to be a fun song to help raise money.

I think its pretty decent. :)
