  • Samantha died when she heard this song...

  • this is probably her best song!... not bad at all !

  • Get real. You are cool Yoko. In the art world you were fantastic before meeting a teeny bopper. Sorry. Love me do when she's doing cut piece, please. Thanks for taking a little boy and making him a pillar. Fluxus is so important. That you melded is a gift that you shared.

  • Great song!

  • Love it <3

  • Is that Linda Mccartney with Yoko at 3:14 ?

  • One of my favorite songs of hers. Glad she's still putting music out there, but I like the original versions better than the modern remixes.

  • this is great.one of the best Yoko ever did. .........but for the record...The Beatles set the standard for us all unless your deaf

  • I always loved AIU and this is one of my favorites. I like the version on Yes I'm a Witch, but this one takes the cake. I think AIU is one of the very best r & r albums of the 1970s and is remarkably little known and underrated.

I also think when people criticize her looks that people don't seem to criticize Bob Dylan, e.g., for HIS looks and it proves the point of much of her work.

  • cool chick ? I'm really gonna barf ! Fugly is actually being nice.

  • Yoko Ono is fugly.

Most Japanese women are very pretty, attractive

  • @cheeriosinabowl that is a stereotipical thing to say..that's one..secondly..beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. I find her very attractive.

  • @AbagOfonions

    .... whatever.

  • she has very different music to most artists,

i still dont get her screaming though,

  • thats one of the best songs I have heard by her, she has terribly outrailed tunes sometimes but also many times she hits the nail in incredible ways - shes always a surprise and still interesting today

  • ONE OF MY YOKO ''FAVES''...JOHN'S PLAYING IS STELLAR,AS IS THE REST OF THE SESSON PLAYERS...WONDERFUL RECORDING,''GREAT MIX''!!!THIS IS '72!!!

  • Yoko wrote this song after an evening party at Jerry Rubin. John had drunk and made love with another woman.

  • @misterfabdu93

Idiot, the song is about an abortion she had (pre-John) in the '60s. Where in the world did you get the idea that the song came out of that party?

  • @8angst8 Mr. Fabu is right. It is about the affair that John had at that party and all the party goers were able to hear them in the other room. Look it up if you do not believe it.

  • @8angst8 you are right

  • @misterfabdu93 WHAT?

  • aiu is an absolute classic

  • aiu is an absolute classic

  • One of my favorites by her..

  • Great song...but why this shortened version?

  • I.... like it! Wish Yoko did more stuff like this instead of the screaming she's famous for.

  • @MarieNC2 You should listen to all of this album, it really is a revelation.

  • NO TO MI SIE PODOBA ;)

  • this is the voice of el diablo be warry listeners your fate is sealed

  • how was this song inspired

  • This is a great song! Love the guitar solo.

  • yoko..is..a..moñkey..jojoj

  • this woman is one of the unsung geniuses of the music industry...with out her john would of been nothing after the Beatles

  • misterfabdu93 Thank you so much for uploading. Could you upload extension 33 from Season of Glass? That would be such a great gift. I have always loved Yoko.

Thank you. Peace and love to all.

  • This is shit. Her voice is just awful.

  • If this is shit, why are you here?

Why do people seek out opportunities to be nasty?

    Nobody's pushing anything on you.

  • @insaneforstuff254 - I don't understand that, either. If people don't like something, they should stay away from certain videos. But no, they have to be obnoxious.

  • Am I the only person that can visualise Mrs. Swan from MadTV singing instead of Yoko? "Yeah, she............singa like a crap, yes!"

  • I was at the Oakland show too, loved hearing this one. Except for the cavernous sound of the Fox, the show was too good. 77 and still rocking!

  • Performed last night by Sean, Yoko & company in Oakland, Ca. It's one of the highlights of my life to FINALLY see this performed live. GO YOKO!

  • This is on a compilation album, from the big ONO BOX set. She usually does this in concert as well as well. I saw her do it in SF in the 80s. A whole US tour was planned, then cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. It was in SF and NYC only. Cool Chick, Baby..

  • thank you for this

others are ignorant when the post comments on DONT WORRY KYOKO & WHY

  • yea this double lp was brilliant..and it still is today..and what about the band ELEPHANTS MEMORY doing the backing..wow!

  • @MPC1919 + Jojoseahorse:

ahahaha; she looks japanese, because she IS. how ignorant - do you really not realize that east asian (not "oriental") people can come in a variety of appearances, which would include (slightly) wavy hair?

LOL @ the "she looks American Indian" and "Inuit/Eskimo" comments, though. not even close.

  • Excuse me? My comment was not reflective of MY opinion; it is what I read that she had to put up with from her peers and some members of her own family when she was growing up. If anyone is "ignorant" it was them. She has a beautiful, unique look :)

  • Well, then they are ignorant. I think we can both agree that she is an amazing artist, regardless of everything else.

  • @mondotrasho yeah I do realize that asian people come in "a variety of appearances" (lol) hence my OPINIONS about her looking like other backrounds as well. I never said she does NOT look Japanese...LOL at your stupid comments back , fool.

  • @MPC1919:

Yeah, okay, "she looks Inuit/Eskimo" - I'm a 'fool'. Thank you for sharing your familiarity with/indepth knowledge of 'Inuit' looks (i.e. epicanthic folds and black hair), though. Hahaha, sheltered qallunaat.

  • @mondotrasho ..I said "and at other times she looks Inuit/Eskimo..". ..referring to an angle a photo was taken, lighting, etc..

I do not claim to have an in- depth knowledge of Inuit looks, but apparently you do, I apologize.

Thinking about it ....with all the hideous, derogatory comments entered on YouTube about Yoko, having a negative discussion about innocent comments/ opinions on her facial features seems kinda stupid. So peace out, hope everyone enjoys this song, it's one of Yoko's best!

  • BRIGHT AS CRYSTAL

  • Her voice sounds so pretty in this song. :)

  • Thanks for posting this fantastic song from Yoko Ono. One of many brilliant tracks from her Universe Album. It is well worth the purchase! I bought it when it came out in the seventies and I never tire of this Album. It is current today as it was in the Seventies.

  • YOU R A COLL CHICK BABY NICE SONG ]#

  • she has an especially beautiful profile. I always thought Yoko looks like a mixture of many races. At times she looks Mexican and at other times Middle Eastern and at other times Inuit/Eskimo..she is very exotic looking that is for sure

  • Interesting observation MPC. My mother thought she looked American Indian. She actually has a Russian ancestor on her father's side, and was apparently ostracised when growing up because she looked slightly less than Oriental, especially her wavy hair. I think she is just beautiful :)

  • ...or maybe she looks Japanese...

  • i know, seriously.

  • God she is sooooooo sexy in this song.... Listen to that voice;;;;;; its pure SEX!!!!!!!

  • The picture at 3:14 is a picture I haven't seen before of Linda and Yoko. :)

    I love Yoko Ono<333

  • I absolutely love Yoko Ono, although I don't know if I agree that she was a musical genius. I do believe she was ahead of her time when it came to visual, provocative artwork. Although, her musical ventures seem to be highly borne of the influence of her husband.

This song has hints of Johns style, the progression of the notes, and the melody.

No dis to Yoko. Love her work!

  • I love that photo of her and Linda - I think they are both pregnant there. Talking of babies, one of my daughters is named after this song :)

  • She is so "dark" and lovely!~ I'm diggin' it!

  • Yoko was SOOO maligned, so vilified and only her most "out there" songs were highlighted in order to further degrade her - I LOVE Yoko and I think she is truly a musical genius as a friend of mine once said - "I loved John Lennon, but Yoko was his musical superior in so many ways" John knew that but most other people didn't.

  • True.

  • oh´oh and that song are my fav. from her. <3

  • This is one of my favorites by her..very poignant.

  • This Album is the greatest album and her Pyramid Album is very good also. Fly has some gems too. I played this a thousand times when it came out. I like Cat Man, the Kite Song, Yang Yang is awesome. Next to Neil Young's uncommercial gems, Yoko has written some fantastic songs and pieces of artististry with intense emotion and intellect. This Album should have went to Number One in my opinion.

  • THANK YOU for posting these lovely Y.O. songs! Love the picture videos, too.

  • I'm glad someone is posting some of Yoko's work I have been curious to hear these albums..I have plastic ono band her first primal scream album, but like so many artists I respect and have an interest in..I can't afford to buy their records or cds because all my money goes to basic stuff..I really recommend her book of instructions "grapefruit" I think that book opens the door to many artistic possibilities!

  • Very underated talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @depechemodehome Just because she doesn't sound that bad here doesn't mean she has talent. lol

  • Wow! Finally a Yoko song without any hateful comments! She's great :]

  • I love this track - I bought the album when I was in college in the early Eighties (it was very hard to track down) and so much of it captured my own feelings of sadness and anguish at that time. I heard that she wrote this song about an affair John had while they were married; you can feel the pain in her lyrics and voice. I am more at peace with myself now, and hope she is too :) Glad to see someone is posting her solo work on here - thanks!

  • Porcupine Tree remixed this in 2003 and gave it a psychedelic, spaced out feeling. I recommend it!

  • their version is not psychedelic or spaced-out in the slightest.

    it's acoustic...and fairly nice.

  • It's slightly trippy and psychedelic, even though it's semi-acoustic and melancholy.

  • yes, ivy compton - 'midsummer new york' knocked me out when I first heard it - i've been through many of them and she captured them for me with that song! Also Feeling the Space, beautiful.

  • Yoko's songs always had the greatest music.

  • Yoko did not just make it on her beautiful looks!!!! She had talent also. GREAT talent - NOT just a pretty face!!!

  • Well its nice to see that I am not the only one who thinks she is pretty! She has really beautiful eyes :)

  • Agreed, Jojoseahorse. Thumbs up from me.

  • Oh - an unquestionable masterpiece. I've loved this song since I first heard it (on first release). Devastating emotional breakdown stuff. Powerful as hell. More Yoko please. (How about She Gets Down on Her Knees? Extraordinary.) Go Yoko!

  • cool

  • Thank you so much for posting. I have always felt that AIU was one of the very best rock albums in the entire decade of the '70s. Now if someone would just post "Catman" my life will be complete.

  • Approximately Infinite Universe is such a powerful album. "Death of Samantha" is among many great tunes on this amazing double album.

  • "Death Of Samantha" is one of my favourite song of "Approximately Infinite Universe" but I prefer the version of "Yes, I'm A Witch". But this 1972's version is so great too, I'm loving it!!

  • serious

  • By the way i don't think the Beatles ever reached the standard of APPROXIMATELY INFINITE UNIVERSE - in emotional power, lyrics, or originality. This is the real SGT PEPPER and this song shows why.

  • Are you serious or just jocking?

  • It's a legitimate opinion.

  • I agree in a way, outofthebag. But it's possible to be excited and inspired and moved by both Yoko and the Beatles. Thing is, Yoko has been so unfairly trashed over the years, and her superb musical talents have gone woefully unappreciated. (Though that's changed some over the years as people got over the stupid "She broke up the Beatles!" thing.) Fly and Approximately Infinite Universe are knockouts, as is Season of Glass. People need to open their minds on this one.

  • @ivycompton You hit the nail on the head. Some of the comments frankly should be banned - although I am in favour of free speech. I just don't understand why people hate her so much. I only discovered her music recently and it has been a revelation - so many of the artists and bands I love are reflected in Yoko's music - from Can to Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

  • Thank you very much my dear friends Landrew and mondobay for all the comments that you leashes on my vidéos of Yoko. I'm happy of knowing that you appreciate them. My wish is to make discover Yoko with our songs. And it's always a pleasure for me of making these vidéos. Yoko is a wonderful woman and an admirable pacifist. She was often criticized too and our songs didn't deserve to sink in the anonymity.

I LOVE YOU YOKO AND FOREVER FOR PEACE AROUND THE WORLD!!!!

  • Thxs this is one of my fave Yoko songs great lyrics great voice and music a classic !!!!

  • You still are a cool chick, Yoko. A.I.U. is a great starter album for those who havent heard Mrs.' L before. John really gave his all on this album. Thanx Misterfab!
