  • One of my favorite screenplays ever. Noone deserved that Oscar more than Sorkin. Noone!

  • The Social Network should have won for best picture

  • Great speech, totally deserved.

  • You NEVER play the music on Aaron Sorkin.

  • Honestly one of the best Screenplays in recent history.

  • Im know im the only one who thinks so and im fine with that but i thought the social network was a highly overrated film and that this screenplay was disgustingly unfaithful to the material on which it was based and basically completely irrelevant to the actual events

  • Lets all talk about Alien 3 and how it wasn't as bad as we're all supposed to think.

  • Aaron Sorkin is one of those few people who you can tell, just by the way he talks, that he's a phenomenal screenwriter Most deserved Oscar win that year.

  • hehehe aaron sarkin for the shoshal netwark

  • The Social Network and Toy Story 3 has great Screenplay.

  • I would've jumped through the ceiling if Toy Story 3 won.

  • He just blew his cover.

  • @PandaApproved Not that it matters. I would love for someone to actually try to get him to write a movie for free.

  • @HovaNirvana What does that mean? (just confused no anger)

  • such a boss.

  • First award and nomination......... that is just so incredibly wrong!

  • 1:57 wouldn't you love to know who that random girl is thats standing in the distance over Sorkins right shoulder?

  • It's so sweet he mentions their guinea pig! I love my guinea pigs so much! They are my babies! <3<3<3 This is the cutest speech ever! ;)

  • G.O.A.T.?

  • @stefanrozman He's in the pantheon, that much is definite. I'd say Chayefsky is GOAT. But Sorkin is on his ass.

  • how is toy story 3 an adpated screenplay? A movie can have characterss based on previuos films but not the story. And that's essentailly what the screenplay is about....story.

  • @marneebox Borat was the same way- it was nominated in 2006 for Adapted Screenplay "based on characters created by Sacha Baron Cohen."

  • and he just keeps talking through the push-off music, about his daughter's guinea pig, and that is why i love this man

  • Love you Anne, but never host again. Thanks.

  • Chayefsky's" Network" screenplay deserves more than a few measly golf claps.

  • No one has the right to start the music on Aaron Sorkin.

  • Easily the best screenplay and the best film of 2010 in general.

  • You know you're the shit if you beat the masters of writing screenplays, Joel and Ethan Coen.

  • @FroshtySeanyBoy i would say aaron sorkin is a master in his own right. a few good men, the american president, and the west wing were all masterpieces.

  • No credit to Ben Mezrich? For writing the book.... which the movie was based on?

  • @msane4XX He did credit Mezrich in the very beginning... did you miss it?

  • Interesting that he thanks Paddy Cheyefsky. Definitely see Cheyefsky influence in most things he writes.

  • beautiful. just, beautiful.

  • The Social Network was the best movie of 2010, and, possibly, the decade. My favorite line of dialogue from The Social Network, "B-as in for-BARELY ANYTHING THERE. False Advertisement."

  • Comment removed

  • What's with Javier bardem's hideous accent? It makes me appreciate his performance in No Country for Old Men more

  • @Ganonlink1991 *Awesome accent...

  • What stumps me is how it didn't at least win best director. Fincher was a huge part of why the film was so incredible. The King's Speech was great, don't get me wrong, but it didn't deserve to win best picture for sure. It was generic, predictable, excellent performances notwithstanding.

  • What a great speech! Truly deserving of the award indeed!

  • believe it or not, the reason they cut to Penelope Cruz is because they didn't want to show Josh and Javier kissing... even though it was a joke on their part.

  • His screenplay for Social Network is one of the best in the past 30 years. Every line of dialogue is a perfect blend of weight and elegance. I'd kill to write as good as Sorkin.

  • WAIT HOLD ON HOLD ON! Why is toy story 3 an adapted screenplay. i mean they had to come up with a whole new plot. So if you come with a sequel thats considered adapted? i mean this isnt based off a book with sequels. i dont get it

Oh and great job Sorkin, very witty dialogue

  • @royals1985brett I think it was because Toy Story 3 was written by different writers than the previous two films, and that they used those other writers' characters in their own screenplay.

  • Anne Hathaway please have a liason with me!

  • @360GamerHere Its called "Hand Covers Bruise" by Trent Reznor from "The Social Network" soundtrack

  • he deserved an entire standing ovation! such a bad audience..

  • that was a really good speech

  • @Micklol If you win an academy award for best screenplay, you better write a good speech.

  • that dialogue was superb. He did an AMAZING job.

  • They shouldn't have played him off like that; It's the lame and unnecessary montages that they should play off from now on.

  • FINALLY! Already took them long enough to give Mr. Sorkin a nomination as well. Best award of the night for sure. If only David could've won as well.

  • that script was as sharp as a razor blade

  • Totally deserved it. Thumbs up if you thought David Fincher should have won too!

  • The Social Network was totes my favorite film this year. It didn't win as many Oscars as I had hoped, but it at least won this.

  • @xxxPWNAGEFTDUBZxxx and two others

  • Anne Hathaway was absolutely stunning at the Oscars this year. And the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better host.

  • @thelupoistheman1 I really didn't understand why people blame James Franco for this show sucking, or even that he was a crappy host. This year was one of the worst award shows I've ever seen. Not really a fan of award shows in general, but this was something special. Every aspect of it was just so poorly executed. Honestly, James Fraco was less annoying than Anne Hathaway, not even saying she was a crappy host or that it's her fault that the Oscars sucked this year. Most award shows suck, anyway

  • Aaron Sorkin is a brilliant writer, his work in The Social Network is incredible, I have never heard such good dialogues. This movie is a complete masterpiece.

  • His daughter's guinea pig disliked this

  • He's a douche, but he's good at what he does.

  • I guess Anton Chigurh and Llewelyn Moss are friends now.

  • @Hemloch

That's exactly what I thought. lol. After seeing No country for old men, it's weird to see those 2 guys together.

  • @Hemloch LOL. yeah i thought it was cool they put these two together

  • @Hemloch No they aren't. This is no country for fictional men :P

  • Great speech but he got something wrong, Paddy Chayefsky won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar.

  • @Troboughbo He mentioned it later in his speech douchebag.

  • @Troboughbo he won both

  • @Troboughbo he clarified that though. watch it again

  • Very deserving (thought the Coens were deserving too).

  • ... Original and Adapted Screenplay Oscars weren't given out until the 13th Academy Awards ceremony.

  • @Silverwire100 Screw you, your videos suck, your boring and your points are invalid, and now you're just pandering for views.

  • Great nod to Paddy Chayefsky and the masterpiece "Network" (1976) Both brilliant films!!!

  • this shows why he won best adapted screenplay even his acceptance speech was written well.

  • Extremely well deserved. Fincher should have won best director as well, but that's pretty obvious.

  • I think this is the only award of the night everybody can peacefully agree on. Very well deserved - the screenplay was flawless, not a single word was unnecessary.

  • true grit was totally robbed

  • true grit was totally robbed

  • @AmericanGraffiti1962

not really. I've seen true grit, and they changed a lot of stuff from the book

  • The movie "Network" Aaron Sorkin mentions - I really hope that put some spotlight into the classic so that the production company can sell DVD's of the film. I have been looking for the DVD (Australia) everywhere but can't find it!!!

ALSO: Loved the Social Network! Such a flawless screenplay!

  • Mr. Aaron Sorkin is a master.

  • I'm not surprised that he won, but I am surprised that it was his first nomination. He's written some great films, including The American President, A Few Good Men, and Charlie Wilson's War. Not to mention his work on The West Wing.

  • The way he speaks is very similar to the writing, and I'm not talking about vocabulary.

  • Mr. Sorkin deserved it, such a good speech :)

I don't understand why do they start to play the music in the background during this speech, but they don't do it during a horrible speech as Melissa Leo's one...>:/

  • best screenplay in YEARS.

  • Bardem: "Aaron Sorkin - The SHOSHAL Network!" --- Epic

  • Love the triumphant music at the end!

  • Bardem and Brolin looked like a gay couple about to get married.

Clearly, there was no competition here, though I thought the Coens' screenplay was just as brilliant (as always).

  • No doubt, The Kings Speech was a really great movie. But The Social Network should have won the whole thing. It's the Citizen Kane of this generation, maybe that's why it lost.

  • Truly nice of him to end his speech with "Guinea Pig"

    So cute!!! :)

I love my guinea pigs so much!!! <3

  • The presenter's look tacky.

  • I read the book first and saw it, it did the book justice.

  • Great! Out of all the nominations and oscars The Social Network won and should've won this was the most deserved of them all. Dare say the most deserved oscar of the ceremony! :)

  • The most Deserving award of the entire night. He's as good at writing screenplay's as he is at writing acceptance speeches =D

  • Yay

  • most deserved oscar of the night.
