u have to have a driving license to drive on a track? That sucks. Omg my chain is sooooooo fucking lose right now, hahahah. I'm totally destroying the sprockets.
I think every track day racer has had a cold tire crash. Freaking blows.
My biggest recommendation is take a truck/trailer to the trackday event. If you haven't ridden for a few weeks (a few hours a day) you can get pretty tired & sore riding all day @ a track. & riding home 50-100miles tired really increases ur chance of wrecking
@lifeisgood070 you need a driver's license for a open track days, e.i track day witch does not require you to have a racing license (witch is costs quite a bit annually)
There are lots of regulations and a much higher safety standard (witch costs money to meet) for race use of a track the for a track day, so it's much more affordable for us mortals to go to track days then race practice (even if you have a race license)
I wonder how many of these comments have been posted by people who have had the benefit of coaching from Andy, or at least, who are familiar with his record in motorcycle racing?
as much as i wanted to hear hes pearls of wisdom regarding track days all i could hear was a childs impression of a moterbike....blah blah blah errr!! blah err!!! blah blah err!!!.
Check brake pads, chain not too loose or tight, correct tyre pressure (and tyre tred), do 5 laps to warm up tyres, learn correct lines from instructors, learn braking markings and lastly have fun. Andy, did I err cover everything? (Sorry couldn't resist the last bit)!
age and speed have nothing to do with each other. Guy in vid is super smooth on road and track. grey bike is triumph 675 and it regularly goes round the outside of many a litre bike on track.
Noobinacan, if you had bothered to read the post b4 mine, you would have seen my comment was aimed at him saying `old people and bikes dont look cool`. I freely admit to having my arse kicked at a track recently by a henderson cup rider on a gixxer 750. But dont brag about what you cant do. Every trackday i have done this year, not ONE 600 got anywhere near me. Track knowledge is a wonderfull thing. But it will NEVER beat experience and talent.
@War10ck1004 He actually has a fairly good point there as driving slow and trying to get everything as smooth as possible will prepare you for going faster and faster and still feel as confident as you were when you were driving slow...it sound's like nonsense but actualy it's true. Dont't mean to sound like I know it all or something..just wanted to clear that out 'couse people tend to think that driving agressively from the beggining will get them the best lap time. (sory for my english)
Boring? At least he can be understood. Most of the people in these videos sound like they have a mouthful of mud. This is one of the better episodes from mumble cycle news.
hmm, sounds alright, I might bring my bike along to a track day after all. I thought I'd be in peoples way.

I love when people yap about their 1000cc bikes..paulocbx you'll get owned by a 600 around a track. Guaranteed!
specially when I know every bend, corner and surface of the track in my sleep.

HaHa you get your arse kick by 20 year olds with 250cc and 400cc bikes on a trackday over your litre bike.
You would learn more in one day on the track than you could in a year down the country lanes and its loads safer.
HahA are your knees still up for it :):):)

Don't depend on the service to tighten everything. Check your oil drain plug at least.
Slow now...fast later.
