Without meaning to be rude, I think it's mostly because you're not communicating clearly from a dog's POV. There are a few words among what you're saying to them that they might recognise, but the tone is inconsistent and confusing, it'd be like if a Chinese friend came in now and started asking me to do something, mostly in Chinese with a few words I get -I'd look at them just like the dogs are looking at you. Try "Communicating with your dog" by Baer. They're gorgeous, I'm sure you love them.

@kesterratcliff1 Not to be ruudee...but this guy raised those dogs so those dogs are used to the way he communicates with them. Dogs are like children. Also, I'm a Siberian Husky parent myself and I can confirm that they are stubborn dogs. It's also something they're known for being.

My mum's dog is husky lab cross, he's exactly like this! Its like he looks at you with total disregard, but if you say 'do you want to go for a walk' or 'wheres your bone' then he suddenly understands and is your best pal! Their no stupid! lol! :D

Quite fluffy for Aussie huskies, must have only been a few generations here. Mine's really not fluffy, ancestry been here a while now. (yeah I'm Aussie too). Kenai doesn't like doing what he's told until he smells the treat in your hand

I gotta tell you these dogs are so brilliant. Mine is only 4 months old, and he wants to play all the time. But he can be so stubborn sometimes, it doesn't last long since I've made sure to give him at least 10 minutes of obedience training everyday.

But when it's not his day he just won't listen. I love him though, he has such a distinct character. And they are very friendly. At least that's his most dominant trait, his friendliness.

O god, Husky's are soooo stuborn. But gotta love'em. They really have a mind and character of there own, but they all are stuborn.

I remember when we tried to get my first husky to come in for the night. He was curled up on the deck and we were ready for bed. After calling and trying to get him to come in for several minutes he finally stood up, turned his back to us and laid back down...I finally got the message and let him sleep outside.
