No me gusta dejar comentarios negativos...pero la verdad no me gusto nada....le falta la fuerza caracteriztica del flamenco. Es solo una coreografia muy pobre, sin alma y muy poca pasion(casi nada).

This is a classic dance and is about suppressed feelings and emotions. It is about aesthetics not display.

I would like to see her now and see how she has progressed in the past couple of years or so.

How can you tell from this video what the expression on her face is? It would be nice also, for those of us who do not know, to have some kind of info on the dance & what it signifies, as it seems to signify something. She dances in a very "muscular" way, very different from Maria Pages who is very elegant & intricate.

Sorry, but I must disagree. I have seen awesome, astounding flamenco dance by people who are not latin. It's much more individual than race. Or, like Manolete said, "one "feels" it[Flamenco], or not. But who believes to feel it, can also learn it."

@Cueetiejanara I agree, but "latin" usually means people from Latin American now, which would not include Spain. If you mean "latin" as in "Latin Europe" then that would also include France, Italy, Portugal, Romania etc., and flamenco isn't danced there lol...it's purely Andalusian, not evan really "spanish" since Spain has many different groups and music styles. :)

I have been a professional Flamenco dancer and teacher for years and I think this young lady has a load of potential. She has great line, poise, class and sass. She has done a very basic but involved routine with clean footwork which has left room for emotion. Well done chica...ignore the horrid people that say such crap...not all gypsies can dance, not all black people have rhythym, not all Jewish people are smart...as there are many non spanish people that can dance! Ole!

After all, the passion combined with technique is always above following the general outlines of any art.

Heh, well I didn't say she WAS a beginner right? Only that she MIGHT be, based on what I see of her technique, in which case it wouldn't be fair to flame her mistakes. Nor did I question her level of passion, as she's obviously enjoying herself. But you said it yourself, passion ought to be combined with a certain level of technique to complete the picture, and in my humble opinion she could use some more practice there. Just observing, still not flaming...

It's not that superb really, sorry to say. The footwork isn't complicated at all and she still manages to mess it up (notice 4:31 and 4:42 again), going completely out of tune with the music and trying to cover it up with her manton.

But hey, she might be a beginner so what right have we to flame her, right?

She's too slow with the footwork - a flamenco dancer would do 3-4 times more steps than she does. Also here obviously there is no passion, no drama. This lady is more preocupied in handling clumsily her scarf.

And, for crying out loud, SHE SHOULD NOT SMILE! There is no smiling in flamenco!

According to the info it's Cafe de Chinitas, but I don't recognize any of the melody used for Cafe de Chinitas.

The dancer coold at least try to look like a bailaora de cartel, as Cafe de chinitas is about a torero de cartel.
