  • If your gun shoots 5.56 shoot them.

  • If your selling old parts i will buy.

  • I have had the same problem with steel casings too.

  • I use a generous amount of weaponshield since i got mine, no troubles yet. Around 800 thru it so far of federal xm193bk

  • I just made a new video about carbon deposits on the bolt tail, and carrier group. Once I addressed these areas I have not had a malfunction yet. I have not had any live rounds fail to seat. Thank you for your comment.

  • Never any trouble with Wolf, and have shot 1 thousand of it. Brown bear failed after 20 rds and tula fail once on me too. Mine was different in that the live round failed to fully seat then was stuck. Did the same removal as you,, but nervous with live round. Started using Gunzilla and haven't had any more problems with the Tula. I'm sure any quality lub/cleaner will do. The chamber gums up fast the the Tula I think. It's very dirty,, but so is Wolf. That's my experience. Love the Stag

  • I ordered all of the accessories from Aim surplus.com. The hand guard is a carbine length, and that is $30 with free shipping. I use aim surplus for just about everything. I have since added a eotech I may do a review on that.

  • @ralphomeroy I like your set up where did your order those magpul accessories from? Also as far as the hand grip I noticed that Magpul offers them in three sizes (carbine length, mid length, and rifle length) I'm assuming you have the rifle length correct?

  • Thanks not a sticker that is molded in the stock.

  • You had it for a year but you still have the sticker on the stock?

  • I used the wolf ammo when I first fired my riffle, just make sure you clean your riffle very well. I use a lot of PMC ammo now with out any problems. You are really going to enjoy your Stag. Good luck

  • i just bought a model one yesterday, haven't picked it up yet due to the cool down law, but i was looking at the WPA ammo. i've heard they are better than the old black box wolf. but i am kind of afraid to use that ammo to break the rifle in but 109 bucks including shipping. it's a steal at the price, no pun intended.

  • The tula ammo is not laquered, it is a plastic dipping procedure. The reason the tula jams is because it tends to have a little thicker rim and the extractor has troubles latching onto and letting go of it sometimes.

  • Your TULA and Wolf ammo are likely made in the same place. Wolf is a distributor, not a manufacturer. They are both Russian steel cased rounds so it is possible that they are the same ammo

  • For lubing your AR, Mil-tech is by the superior lubricant. This has been used in the Army since I retired in 2009. I used this lubricant religiously when I was deployed to Iraq and NEVER had any issues with my M-4. I have fired only 60 rounds out of my Stag AR-15 Model 1 and used the Tul-ammo with steel casings I had no problems, however, I didn't fire alot of rounds. I grouped and zeroed with only 9 rounds of Winchester ammo(iron sights, 25 meter tgt), great ammo!

  • @z71cowboydj Thank you for your comment...I will try the Mil-tech. I am always willing to try different products. I do like the CLP, I have been using that for sometime.

  • @ralphpomeroy

CLP is a great lubricant for your weapon, the Mil-tech is even better! Especially after you have cleaned it! Don't forget to use it semi-liberally before you fire too! Good luck!

  • as far as cleaning it..get a blackhawk ar/m4 cleaning kit. it should come with clp. that is what i use on my model 1 and my m4 when i qualify with my unit. clean it really good use a bore snake on your bore and should be good to go...now as far as that clp i only use it when i shoot....put a little on the bolt and rack it a few times to get it lubed up...when i clean..just use my weapons cleaning it and winchester break free...or cheap barbersol shaving cream..it works

  • Thank you...I use CLP to clean all my firearms, I was trying everything. I do find CLP to work the best. I never used a bore snake. May be I will try one. What do you use to get into the chamber to clean it? I pretty much stopped using the steel cased ammo, and have not had a malfunction yet. Thank you for your advise and comments...this is how we all learn.

  • thank you....I figured as much. The wolf started to do it too, but I cleaned the chamber very well. and the last time I went shooting I had no problems. I shot about 100 rounds.

  • its the ammo the tulla is a lacquer coted steel case so when the gun heats up its gums up and the case will stick.

  • hey, nice video. im picking this exact model on saturday, and i have a few questions.

1.) How is the accuracy on the iron sights on this weapon at about 200 yrds?

2.) What were your groupings like.

3.) and lastly, about how much cleaning is required for this weapon.

and if your head about the revised improved battlesight zero, you should check it out.

    GOOGLE:

Revised Improved Battlesight Zero and click on the ar15.com link

thanks for the video btw, would like to hear from you.

  • @kpoloboy Thank you for your comment. Well there is no place close to me were I can shoot 200yrds. I do most of my shooting at 50yrds, but I have shot it at 100yrds. Grouping at 50yrds are within 6 inches no problem, and at a 100yrds they are all in the target. I do not get a lot of long distance shooting in. I can hold my own but I am no pro. As far as cleaning, well I take everything apart and clean it all, so it takes me about a hour. The more you stay on it the fast it will be.

  • @ralphpomeroy

okay thanks. and theres no range around you for 200 yards? thats a bummer. you do target shooting or you just shoot at the range? well anyways, forgot to say, you have a very nice looking rifle. simplicity is sexy these days.

  • @kpoloboy Mostly target shoot. I do like to keep it simple, and light weight as possible. Good luck with your new stag I think you will be very happy with it.
