Yes, nicotine is not a good drug, but neither is caffeine or alcohol (both of which are extremely addictive), so what are we going to do....ban everything that isn't good for you? Except that e-cigarettes are not marketed toward people who don't already smoke. Find me ONE instance where they have been. The government is trying to shut down e-cig sales entirely. The tobacco companies currently have no vested interest in e-cigs and would surely like their sales shut down as well (until they have their own version), and e-cigs have nothing to do with the Big Pharma either. The gov't wants them gone because they DON'T make money off of them.

tantepie, you've tried the electronic cigarette and you've determined that they are still dangerous based on what? Did you have some sort of health issues that arose suddenly after trying them? No? That's what I thought.

Of course inhaling anything but the cleanest of air (which, in hospitals, is cleaned using propylene glycol--the main ingredient in e-cigarette liquid) is not 100% safe, but that doesn't mean e-cigs aren't 1000% safer than cigarettes. I don't want to quit. I want e-cigs.

tantepie. there is no 'smoke' involved in smokestik. The "e-cigarettes" you tried were likely made in China, which have been found to harbor harmful chemicals. Smokestik, however, is made in the United States, and is composed of three things: nicotine, water, and Propylene glycol (ruled safe for consumption by the FDA) I wish you luck on quiting. I, however, am about to enjoy nicotine without worry.

Every day I'm told the same damn spiel. "You shouldn't smoke", "stop smoking", "it's bad for you", "you're killing yourself" and any variation of "you're weak, i'm not" and "i'm smart, you're stupid". Please, just shut the hell up. If being berated by nonsmokers actually did anything, there WOULDN'T BE ANY SMOKERS

I have smoked for 35 years and never been able to quit easily. I made it months, but to no avail always ended up back to cigs because of the behaviour pattern.

This has been a saviour for me, I do not know what I would have done without it. I probably would have been another statistic. I feel great and no longer cough, I started jogging again and even lost 20 lbs of weight. This has been the best device I could have ever wanted.

So, cigarettes contain 4000 carcinogens - any chance you could tell us how many of those are natural and found in everyday items such as salads, drinking water and vegetables? Any chance you could tell us how many of them are human?

You didn't explain this in your address for obvious, marketing reasons.

The truth doesn't hurt though and it is well-known amongst smokers, even if the anti-smoking lobbies think people are brain-dead. They are wrong and are falling on hard times

Stop making all smokers, myself included, sound like idiots by saying crap like that. I've never met a smoker who wouldn't admit that they knew cigarettes ultimately are harmful. Every current-smoker I've ever known has tried to quit and failed. How hard they tried, how much risk they are at and how much they care varies, but they all knew that inhaling smoke all day long is bad for you.

Oooh - very touchy. Yes, I smoke, but I don't inhale smoke all day long. I don't know any smoker that does.

I've only met a few smokers that wanted to quit - their choice. I've met a lot who are being made to feel 'denormalised' because they smoke though. Guess what - the ones who chose to quit did so quit, because they wanted to quit. They didn't need plastic toys as a substitue, neither did they need NRT.

If you want to quit smoking you will do. If you don't then you won't.

For those watching this video who don't smoke (like myself) you can still help to make a change by taking the time to tell friends and loved ones about electronic cigarettes, especially if they smoke. Electronic cigarettes drastically reduce the risk associated with nicotine intake; adopting safer practices will save lives and grief.
