You can easily just remove the power shots if you hate them that bad.

I got a bad history with this game... I transferred my characters to the N64, but then my Data got deleted randomly on the GBC game. So now I can't import or export anything because the N64 recognizes it as a different game! And the Girls on the N64 suck D:. But there's not much I can do about it now... Nice videos, dude.

About those Power Shots from Mario Power Tennis, I'd recommend using lob shots to buy yourself enough time to recover from the opponent's Power Shots, though sometimes, when some characters use Power Shots, they leave themselves open as they, ironically, need to recover from their own Power Shots. (Yoshi and Diddy Kong are good examples of characters with Power Shots that incapacitate their users.)

Also, I'm not sure if Shagg ever mentioned it, but if you just hold down the A or B buttons instead of repeatedly mashing them, you'll get a weaker top spin or slice, albeit with greater control in angling. Try those out if you're playing up close to the net (which I'd not recommend being at in the 1st place unless you have a Doubles partner that'll take care of whatever shots the opponent lobs over your head to the back of your side of the court).
