I knew Gary back when his wife died. He played me this song in the back of his bus and asked what I thought about it. I was floored. Gary is a great guy and his wife back then was a fun thoughtful person to know.

I only recently got to know of Gary Allan and I have found myself listening to his music everyday ..... I truly think that he is underrated in the music industry.... all his music seem to have so much emotion poured into them and I believe that everyone can relate to a tleast one of his songs. I have to admit this song doesn't make much sense to me. "Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride" What does that mean? To me it just sounds like a trick of language. If you see life AS the ride, in other words there's no difference between "life" and "ride" (and I don't see why there should be), then it makes no sense to say one is beautiful and one isn't.
I used to think people were so pathetic pouring thier hearts out on these comment blocks. But I miss them right now and its too late to talk to anyone. My mom died may of this year of Alcoholism. Ironically, she would listen to this song thinking about my dad, her husband of 20+ years; who died 5 years earlier. @seth77783 , I felt the same about the comments, but my boyfriend died of suicide, just recently and I am 5 months pregnant, I wanted to give up because he was my true love and just couldnt find a way to live without him, but when I found out I was pregnant by him it gave me a reason to keep going

Okay, I haven't listened to country in years, and I got nostalgic and started looking up the songs I loved when I was young. Then this guy started appearing in the side bar... He's just amazing. @7megacowgirl i had to sell mine a few months ago, i rescued her on Chirstmas. she was a walking skeleton but i knew i could get her in shape. she had no training. in march when i sold her, she had been trained to lunge, and she was gettin used to haven a saddle on her back and a halter on her face. she had put on close to 400 lbs when i sold her. on the day i sold her i climbed on her and rode her to the mans trailer and cried my eyes out. life aint always beautiful but its a beautiful ride :)

this song hits home for me. When I was 13 years old I had my hip reconstructed, I was called a cripple because I limped, laughed at and mocked. It hasn't been easy for me, but I thank god every day I am alive and can walk today. I have to admit this song doesn't make much sense to me. "Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride" What does that mean? To me it just sounds like a trick of language. If you see life AS the ride, in other words there's no difference between "life" and "ride" (and I don't see why there should be), then it makes no sense to say one is beautiful and one isn't.

Ironically, she would listen to this song thinking about my dad, her husband of 20+ years; who died 5 years earlier. She wasn't herself after she started drinking..tried to drown her sorrow but that doesn't work..and now we no longer have her. She never got to see the grands finish growing up or my grands..her great grands at all. My grand daughter looks JUST like her an she's missing that. And now, I am noone's little girl. @7megacowgirl i had to sell mine a few months ago, i rescued her on Chirstmas. she was a walking skeleton but i knew i could get her in shape. she had no training. in march when i sold her, she had been trained to lunge, and she was gettin used to haven a saddle on her back and a halter on her face. she had put on close to 400 lbs when i sold her. on the day i sold her i climbed on her and rode her to the mans trailer and cried my eyes out. life aint always beautiful but its a beautiful ride :)

this song hits home for me. When I was 13 years old I had my hip reconstructed, I was called a cripple because I limped, laughed at and mocked. It hasn't been easy for me, but I thank god every day I am alive and can walk today. If it doesn't kill you it will only make u stronger..remember that no what u are going through there is always a tomorrow and things will get better.

@irishmc85 My twin brother had a near identical experience. when we were 15 he had a totoal hip resurfacing and kids did all the same things. and it was very tough. glad you shared the story god bless!
