If you never had a medium-rare steak you wouldn't crave for it. But unfortunately we live in a world where people are taught to eat and like the taste of murdered animals. But wait! There is an option for those of us who were raised with meat in our diets. There are vegan imitations of meat, tastes almost the same (but just as good or even better IMO). We can adopt to new foods and learn to like it, we did adopt to meat so why not adopt to something that doesn't require killing? :)

I'm vegan because the look, smell of meat stinks-it disgusts me to no end pieces of road kill in pretty packages - the blood, guts, gore SICKEN me. I don't see how anybody can eat animal flesh. Milk stinks-it turns my stomach because it comes from cow titties which often has diarrhea on the titties and mixed with the milk and eggs are runny like human snot. In fact the chemical composition of egg whites and HUMAN SNOT ARE IDENTICAL which is why it has a salty taste. Now you know why I'm vegan.

@Skeletonwitharaygun I've eaten all kinds of meat without seasoning. Yes it is nice. If you cook belly pork and get crackling its nice. Lamb tastes nice without seasoning (but I like mint sauce with it too), chicken is nice on its own. Bacon unsmoked, again, very nice.

why can't the world have both? We are omnivors, menaing we basically have a choice in what we can eat and yes we can just eat vegetables. The argument is to choose Veg over meat? but what if I perefere both? I make vegetrian dishes for myself and enjoy them, but also enjoy meat.

Plus all vegetrianism isn't good. An alternative to Gelatin in foods is a plam oil that trees are cut down for. This had a direct effect on endanagered animals such as orangotans.

@nightmareprince44 palm oil and gelatin have no connection. gelatin is a thickener that holds food in an amorphous like state , palm oil is just an oil!! the alternative you are looking for is probably agar , a sea vegetable that has a similar effect to gelatin but doesnt melt in your mouth as much

Venus Fly Traps, some tropical ferns will interact rather quickly. if there is a nerve, no matter how crude, there is a thought. Any green thumber can tell you that plants grow better when treated kindly and spoken to. Plants are alive, and self aware..just ask one...but don't expect a direct answer. Circle of life, everything eats another. I eat steak and my plants love me for it.

On a more serious note, be vegan and save more plants. By eating meat you will contribute to more plants getting killed. It takes far more plants to produce meat than by eating the plants directly. Not only plants, but even rainforest areas. If you eat plants you have more control of what plants you are eating, and from where it comes from too.

Captain Kirk was not a vegan, this came later. From TNG onwards, they have replicators, and therefore eat only artificial food. I remember one episode (but not the title, sorry) when another species asked for meat to eat, and Captain Picard said: "We don't eat animals any more, we replicate our food."

I assume you're asking because you're concerned with protein. I'm a vegan and into bodybuilding and I avoid soy and typically don't eat nuts, yet I still make the same muscle gains as I did when I was an omnivore. All food on this planet, except oils, contain protein. Knowing this, it'd be pretty damn hard to be deficient in it.
