We truly don't have anything like this in America. You lose your sense of surrounding. It's as if you're sitting right in front of her, in her mirror, in that very room, listening to her share her stories. It really is captivating.
As a American I have to say that our "actors" are no where near as TALENTED as Ms. Lumley. She has a true gift. I don't know many people who could sit in front of a mirror talking to themselves and make the audience forget that they are watching a show/movie. The first time I watched this I couldn't get over how capturing it was and how real her emotion felt, as if she has really lived this.
