  • the amp is nice, but you are right, the demos form him, even though hes a good guy, still, he uses them set up muddy and dull sounding with the same gat everytime, or similar setup gat. A nice vintage strat or JYM gat please. Expand the demos mate. We are all asking!

  • hahaha he stopped wearing the 1962 T-shirt :D

  • Yngwie has for decades now been endlessly vocal about his sworn loyalty to those early 70s metal panel 50 w non master volume marshall heads. Now a signature amp marketed on his name is a 100watt plexi type amp? And also get a demo with a humbucker guitar?

  • @mKreifeldt that is a humbucker guitar...

  • @mKreifeldt it's switchable to 50 watts... and a 1987 is just a 1959 with 50 watts... see nothing wrong here

  • At 7:55, this guy turns down the Power Attenuation Level, but retains the tone of his sound. It's exactly this I'm not able to pull off anymore..

Any clues to what may have happened to my head?

  • The great thing with this amp is that you can play at very low volumes, retaining your tone, by adjusting the Power Attenuation Level. That worked the first few hours, before it died twice.

Now, it doesn't work anymore. I turn it down to minimum (.1%) and it's as loud as it would be set to like 30-40%.

I know it's broken, but what do you guys think about it? Do you think my reseller can fix it or do you think that it has to be shipped back to Marshall for repair?

  • Hey guys.

Two days ago I bought a Marshall YJM100 and it worked fine for a few hours. But then, it just died. Twice. It just shut off by it's own and then restarted by it's own.

I was playing pretty loud since I wanted to test it out, but as midnight approached I wanted to keep playing but in a low volume. So I turned the Power Attenuation Level down to like .1% but to my surprise, that didn't work. At all..

  • Why can't I get an amp like that with a clean channel !!!!!!!!!! Any recommendations

  • I was interested in hearing how well the noise gate worked, but during the demo the guy kept turning the guitar volume down everytime he stopped playing. I would like to have heard him let the strings ring until the noise gate kicked in to hear it's effectiveness.

  • take that fender!!

  • All of the 1959 amps I've played don't have nearly as much gain as the 1987. The volume difference between 100 and 50 watts is small, but the gain difference is very noticable.

  • yngwie malmsteen is like an brazilian singer " Roberta Miranda"

  • legal!

  • play some malmsteen style, not this stupid shit... serious man.

  • @StiansNorskeNyheter Every one already knows how Malmsteen sound. Not every one who will buy this are Malmsteen fan-boy.

  • @StiansNorskeNyheter i was ognna say that... :P

  • What do both volumes do from a technical point of view?

what do the 4 inputs do?

  • @manubro1 research Marsall, shit every 1987 and 1959..oh were talking to someone that doesnt even know what an amp is ok thats the 1987-50 watt and the 1959 -100 watt, google marshall plexi for gods sake.

  • @manubro1 It has two non switchable channels, treble and bass. Each channel has two inputs, high and low gain, so one volume per channel. You can play through both channels by jumping them with a patch cable as you saw him do. This does not increase distortion, volume or gain. It simply lets you have both voicings available. You play with the volume knobs until you get the right blend of bass and treble. Most people just play through the treble channel, but jumping is a cool trick.

  • I think the 50 watt is better way to go more break up in the tubes

  • @akaboo69 this amp sounds awesome without the boost its got a nice fat bluesy tone with the boost on has a great metal tone sort of like a soldano sort of

  • I would have liked to have seen Yngwie demo this amp. I'm sure he would have loved to show what HIS amp is all about!

  • I saw this guy the other day, him and the band are so good.

  • yngwie would silly slap him if he saw using his amp to play taht shit xD

  • It's stupid to test an YJM amplifier without playing Malmsteen style!!

  • @davidalsace It's exactly what he did with the AFD100

  • wow amazing amp. you can really have a classic marshall tone and a good metal tone as well. besides you can play really quiet at home with it. amazing!

i wonder if the new zakk wylde head that is coming out will have the atenuator as well..

  • Ayhh" I can get all them tones from my ROCKTRON PIRAHNA!

  • I want one of these!!! Wow...An amp that you can just plug into that sounds like an old or saturated Marshall sound.

  • Chris George looks so stupid now, he dont look right with short hair haha

  • God I hate the SM57.

  • @TeleMA50c woot

  • Thank you George...you have old me this amp!! It better make it to my doorstep or I am going to actually be MAD

  • Yngwie Malmsteen 100 is not my cup of tea but one should admit that it's a great sounding amp with cool features like attenuation, a reverb circuit, self-biasing system and a boost circuit with a noise gate. I can't see any reason for it not to become the go-to all-around amp for any shredder out there. But it sounded best with the boost mode activated and the attenuation kind of suffocates the sound..

  • @Ningirsutyr fyi man, Santiago himself told me the circuit is a standard 1959slp early 70's model jsut with more features added around it, and all the features are true bypass except the noisegate.......as for the attenuator, AWESOME!

  • This is a great sounding amp. I like the built in attenuator feature, all loud ass tube amps should have that nowadays.

  • WHEN?!!! When will it be in US stores?!!

    HOW MUCH???!!?

The AFD100 hasn't even shown up yet!

  • the AFD100 is out n sold lol, if you had followed your the AFD100 website you qoulda seen that you had to tell your local music store to get it for you. I live in europe and i did that, and i've had mine for over 2 months now :)

  • @Vanquiza I know. The rest of the world has theirs. California regulations put a stop to US delivery. Last I hear, they were finally on their way over here, but I've contacted some guitar store chains & I was told that they don't know anything. That's OK for now because even though I really like the sound of the AFD100, I'd prefer to check out the YJM100 or the next line of JVMs with the changes that Santiago made for the ones that Satriani uses. They'd probably fit my style better.

  • @WayMoreGuitar Oh, yeah okay :) Well good luck with that then! I hope you make the right choice! This amp is killer aswell! :D

  • Been lucky enough to have a go on a demo model brought round by the account manager - boost mode aside, just as a plexi with the wattage attenuation all built in that properly works!!....allows you to tame the beast within for home, stage or studio. Can't wait til they finally ship.

  • @insidemarshall so the wattage knob is like a master volume ?

  • @superiansuper no it just drops the wattage of the amp

  • hi gays?? xD

  • Can you use the noise gate without the boost mode on?

  • Well but most 70´s guitarists i like use only the treble channel. And the amp is very bassy sounding through that. So jumpering the channels just gives it more low end wich there is plenty of already. Still i don´t claim that nobody jumper the channels. There are people doing that also. But in my opinion it´s not the most common. He could have at least done more with the treble channel only.

  • Chris' guitar is a muddy piece of crap. It seriously ruins every demo, imho.

  • Pity he plays mostly with jumpered channels. Isn´t the upper left, channel 1 high sensitivity input that most people use?

  • @MsEilert Not necessarily. Jumpering both channels allows you to blend the volume of each channel to give you more tonal options...

  • This demo isnt bad. His chops are fine but it would be way cooler to hear YJM play it himself like Slash and Kerry King did with their amps. Hint...hint....Even if you have somebody that kinda sounds like YJM would be cool.

  • @cfwilkins2003 watch?v=AK_xNQPxQ_4

    ;)

  • i think people are not going to wanna buy this amp with this horrible demo and tone i like rob chappers demo much better

how did this guy land this job is beyond me

    yjm rulessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • The sounds great. Nice job, marshall team...

  • Again, give us some videos of Yngwie with this amp. Sorry to say it, but we've all heard Chris and his pentatonic licks enough already.

  • all these product demos with chris george just make the amp sound too bassy and muddy

  • @herbert101

    Duncan JB's !!

  • Play Trilogy Suite!

  • It's a pity that al those great knobs are on the back....

  • @JoshuaSmits What are you talking about? It's what makes this amp so great. No way would I want to buy a Marshall that has loads of dials and switches on the front. This amp has the vintage look that just can't be bettered.

  • @yngwieisking

I have a JVM,,410H and i get almost every sound Marshall has created,,, all those bells n whistles come in handy if u use them properly !! :)

  • @JoshuaSmits

Thats the beauty of it,,,all that TONE with 6 Knobs as far as everyone else knows LOL..

  • Have to hear this in person...
