Hi! So nice to hear from you :) You are so young, so your hands will indeed become more agile the more your practice. Regarding your question: a blocked chord, in this case a triad (3 note chord) only utilizes 3 fingers - in root position the chord is Left 531 and Right 135 because that is most comfortable for the trained hand - however the fingering is different for inversions. But arpeggios require seamless mobility spanning more notes, thus the other fingering. Love, Di
my hands and fingers are stocked and very hard to move. How i wish i could learn to play the piano through your piano lessons You are great and very excellent madam.
oops! I answered from the wrong channel *blushing*
Thank you, Violeta! I would love to teach you to play the piano. I hope some day I have enough time to upload the lessons I have in my head for the benefit of you and everyone who would love to learn!
Diane you are hands down the greatest every time i learn a lesson or exercise you take them to the next level i love your channel it is definitely the best love ya thank you and god bless and keep teaching the theory of music
@MillerMusicStudiosTV i just love this this so going to help me for my exam on friday coz i made up lyrics but dont know what to play on the piano thax sooooooooo much
If you would like to hear more chords please feel free to check out the other chord videos I have here, and soon I hope I can MAKE myself sit down and record some more piano lessons for you too! more more more!!!!!!!!!!! always more!! ;) That's why I love the piano! There is no limit! No way to get bored!
Try the Suzuki volume 1 book! Many teachers teach the entire book just the right hand - then the entire book just the left hand! then go back through the book hands together! but I do right hand alone of a piece, then left hand alone of that same piece, then hands together before moving on to the following piece! Does that make sense?
Dear Diane, Thank you so much for taking your valuable time helping me. I really don't know how to repay your kindness except working very hard with you instructiohal video in the hope that someday I can play some real music that pleases your ears and mine 2. Namaste!
Dear Diane, I enjoy playing argeggios in this video lesson. It reminds me of moonlight sonata. Please forgive my ignorance. There must be benefit of such practice. May I ask you to kindly shine some light about this on me. I've actually come back so many times to enjoy the last part of your video. .So entertaining. It makes me feel like a kid again. Thank for you valuable time.
A benefit of practicing arpeggios (like practicing scales, chords with their inversions, cadences, etc.) is so that when you encounter them in a composition you will understand what you are playing and it will be easier since you already mastered the patterns.
Dear Madam, I am just starting and am very very late at my stage. This is too good to be true. I thought I was dreaming You make me steps closer to reaching my life long passion. My search is over! It is here where you teaching is a pricelless gift, angel sings and the musicis havenly! Please keep it coming. To say I am gratful is an uuunderstatment!!!!

I guess....all in due time.
Yeah! Try playing several augmented chords in a row - if you know them all, like C Augmented, C# Augmented, D Augmented, E flat Augmented, E Augmented....etc.....it sounds like Frankenstein music! lol
I'm actually guitarist but those arpeggios sounds best on piano. You showed me that I have to learn playing piano too. That's great and I'm sure that I'll learn this. Can you tell me what should I do for the beginning? ;)
Every so often, please remind me that I need to teach a true beginner's course on my channel, ok? Once I begin that, you will know how to begin and proceed. I just need to start it....I want to write my own course that will be good for everyone - I've just been dragging my feet on the project - it will be a big one!
Hey Diane i just want to say god bless you. ive become a student of yours and this is so much fun! every lesson i thank god for you taking out the time to teach the less fortunate and one day i pray that i will be able to repay you for giving me the musical knowledge thank you.

BachScholar - your site is AWESOME!!! You truly are a scholar and a wonderful performer! Hi UFO! Yes, you are naturally gifted if you are getting around the keyboard with ease playing clear chords and all. Lots of people have to train their hands to get the strength in their joints :) The song at the end is the "Circus Music Duet" Part 4. You can find Parts 1, 2 & 3 with an explanation of the duet at the very end of Piano Lesson #1. Peace to you too!
Many thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.I live in a place without piano teachers and I really want to learn,so your videos are truly a Bless!

Hi Dianne,
Thanks for your video. It is a fun way of teaching. Hard but not boring.
After stopping piano lessons at age 7 i think my hand became so stiff.
Now I am 26, but after a few days my fingers have improved their muscle memory, and have become somehow agile again
I would like to ask, why in a block chord you use Left 531 Right 135
However in a arpeggio Left 542-1 and Right 123-5?
The 2 in a left hand somehow confused my brain and muscle memory as I always use 3 instead of 2.
Thanks

Im already 26 now. LOL!! anyhow thanks for your exercises. The arpeggios are really hard but it is helpful in my improvisation on my compositions.

This reminds me of suspense music on old hitchcock movies when you do the arpeggios hand over hand. Thanks another great lesson
