Yes, thank you for posting this sonata. I have been studying the score with the intention of playing it in the future and now it makes sense; some of the themes were vague on paper (to me; I am a student).

A wonderfully romantic yet very strong and powerful performance!!! Pianist Sviridov is just great. Too bad we do not hear him often in concert, but his CDs speak for themselves. Thank you for posting and sharing the art of this great musician.

Yes very lyrical i find that everyone on youtube playing the first minute of this piece (which is one of my favorite passionate parts) just quickly run thru showing might and strength without the melodic/lyrical sense of its side...which is sad because this piece is beautiful.

Cannot disagree with comments above. GREAT PERFORMANCE !!! I like the control of the pianist, and at the same time he is very emotional. Great balance of the two.

AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!! Please listen to ALL three movements in a row. Then you get the whole idea if his about this sonata. Sviridov is very well-suited for Rachmaninov. Thanks for posting.
