  • freedom is life !

  • @uhokstupid so the earth and everything in it is the home to every homeless I see on the street too right? Lol you try it

  • @SNAKES600 it depends how they call for place where they live, and if it was their own decision i think

  • @Corkitalian the dude basically became homeless.

  • @SNAKES600 no he didnt. his home was the earth and everything it has to offer.

  • who i was before.. i cannot recall

  • 29 people didnt survive the wild

  • @agooch7890 Christopher didn't either :S

  • This dude just needed a vacation he shouldve just gone camping or something lol

  • @SNAKES600 Extreme Freedom.... No money.... Nothing..... That's what camping offers??

What a move; it is filled with literature, poetry, and the best part: its music. Truly a masterpiece; thanks for reminding me

  • my favorite movie of all time....

  • Esta pelicula es simplemente NOTABLE.........

  • Cried my eyes out, when i saw Christopher McCandless last selfmade photo at the end of the movie. Searching for freedom, but finding death....

  • This song moves me....the movie motivates me...

  • @Murdilizer I get exactly the same feeling, I always want to go out and travel the world. :)

  • @FunkinJam Then just do it, but make sure you bring enough granola bars, twigs and berries, cause u dont want to eat a potato root look alike!!! I'm in Northern California right at the moment, bout to go back to Los Angeles... RIP Alex Supertramp

  • beautiful song for a beautiful movie

  • Everytime I hear this song, everytime I see this movie, I want to go away.

  • @LoserBirdie A fellow wanderer

  • sickest song ever

  • Alexander Supertramp forerver changes the way i think about this life

  • "Into the wild" is one of the greatest films ever! The story, the music, the pictures, the feelings, it is poetry. Thank you for this video.

  • @sigurosa I enjoyed the film, until he broke the wall (with audience), when he stared at the camera and made a face (whilst eating his apple...and talking to it).

  • let me feel I'm falling, i am falling, safely to the ground ...eddie vedder is epicness

  • i want to do this tonight...

  • Ahhhhh Strong Life ... amazing musical representation of that.

    Big up mr Vedder

Big up Sean Penn for this splendid movie.

  • Amazing.

  • THIS IS WHAT I CALL MUSIC!!

  • just...so....lovely.

  • THUMBS UP for a life truly LIVED, not spent loving money/themselves!

(also please check out my McCandless-inspired poetry channel!) :)

  • i weep for the ones who don't know Life like this man did.

please live in love and follow your dreams :)

(also please check out my McCandless-inspired Poetry on my Channel!)

  • this music IS the human Spirit. period.

THUMBS UP if y'all agree :)

  • this song chokes me up and makes me feel really sad in that bitter sweet way life can kick you to the curb, but makes you appreciate the better times

  • great video, I like how you spliced the scene where chris say himself in that rich people bar as a clean shaved consumer I applaud your effort

  • just a great movie and great music!

  • replay replay replay

  • what program did you use

  • Watched this movie again today, hadnt seen it in about a year so i thought id watch it again and see what i could get out of it hee =)

SHOW!!

  • Beautiful. Love this movie and soundtrack. Eddie Vedder has quite a way with lyrics. My father-in-law died last Sunday, we play "Just breathe" in honor of him but any song from "Into the Wild" would be suitable in rememberance of his life and/or death.

  • I've got this line....

  • @JMRJ1000 got this life

  • @JMRJ1000 its i got this life

  • @JMRJ1000 its i got this life

  • "Have no fear"

There are no better first lyrics to any song.

It sounds depressing, but I hope this song will be played at my funeral. :)

  • Check out my tutorial on how to play this song!

  • this video is brilliant!!

  • awesome..

  • only one comment - I miss the scene with mooses (Hirsch crying over the beauty). I think, this is the best scene. anyway, I love this video - together with this music.

  • well done - thank you.

I have seen this movie twice (yesterday and today). Those words, phrases, quotations to remember. It touches me infinitely - moment of hapiness turns to sadness and the other way. The power of independent life and living in this society, cant stop thinking about it... I like the end, which finally meets the real life. Sean Penn is the man (never know he is also a director!) and Emille Hirsch is brilliant.

  • Great Sound!!

  • this movie made me really think about life and hapiness and the only way to gain true hapiness is to share it with other people

  • @finnyboy994 happiness isnt gained, its a default state for people. this movie is about realizing theres nothing to achieve life is already beautiful

  • @jfontana88 i guess so but life isn't beautiful for everybody some people live in fear, it's gonna be hard to convince them that life is beautiful

  • @finnyboy994

If only it was easier to find the right people to "share" with!!

But no-one will measure up to Eddie!!

  • @finnyboy994

Very well said.. Hapiness has to be shared if you wanna know it

  • new 68 is coming

  • chris or "alex" you are like my idol and your so fasinating to learn about.someday me and my older sister are going to vist your bus.we all miss you :D have a happy love in the air

  • Nicely Done! 24 people hate it cause they are deaf and can't enjoy it.

  • Nicely Done!

  • happiness only real when shared.

  • wow

  • good work, possibly my fave song from the album and what an album/movie/story.... inspirational to say the least.

  • 10/10 for adventure,0/10 for common sense ...what a waste!!!!!!

  • @thesaint230 Maybe it's the other way around? Maybe he did not lack common sense. Maybe 95% of the people in the western world today lack common sense.

  • Makes me want to cry every time I hear this. Just beautiful

  • @AntzTunez Me too friend!

  • What a beautiful film..

  • The part where he shakes his hair is soooooo profound. (rolls eyes)

  • I liked it very much....

  • "I now walk,"

This movie is just perfect, so moving and so true..

  • If he only would've taken a map or anything, he would have survived.

  • My favourite song of all time..i want to drown in this song.

  • @suedehead38

    I am already drowning

  • any chance of a sequel...

  • @Chewyblanketsam hahha i hope that was a joke

  • my dad just passed away from a major heart attack when he was 56 im 24 2 weeks ago, im going into the wild too good luck society

  • @HatesStupidPeople194 good luck mate, wish you the best

  • happines is only real if shared

  • Tru dat

  • God this movie was terrible, that kid needed a smack in th mouth. The only good thing was the soundtrack.

  • @Devilock79

Brain is not an option to understand movies.

  • @Devilock79

God this guy Devilock was terrible, That dickhead needed a smack in th [sic] mouth.

    You're a fucking retard..

  • One of the most inspiring movies I've ever seen.Everyone should take a page from this book.

  • eddie veddar wrote one of the most brillient sound tracks ever for this movie...he nailed it

  • i want this song at my funeral

  • Isolation is the source of loneliness and loneliness is the mouth of depression

  • @Beetroots19 not totally true, the most social person can be lonely, loneliness is a state of mind, not just the result of basic isolation.

  • “I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, To put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die Discover that I had not lived.”

  • this movie is gonna do some serious harm to me........

  • Can someone recommend more movies this good for me to watch?

  • @USBCABLEGUY You should check out Touching the Void. It's a great true story. Kinda done in a documentary sort of way.

  • @USBCABLEGUY gran torino :d

  • @USBCABLEGUY 127 HOURS

  • Good stuff. Try fading some of the videos into each other and increasing the brightness on some. Good luck and thanks for the cool video. Peaces

  • Good stuff. Try fading some of the videos into each other and increasing the brightness on some. Good luck and thanks for the cool video. Peace

  • I love this movie and soundtrack...I completely understand...

  • 23 dislikes those people should a razor stuck up their ass then twisted

  • Chris found the answer he was looking for toward the end. He wrote it in his journal. The cruel irony is that unfortunate circumstances took his life shortly there after.

  • Have no fear For when I'm alone I'll be better off than I was before I've got this life I'll be around to grow Who I was before I cannot recall Long nights allow me to feel I'm falling I am falling The lights go out Let me feel T'm falling I am falling safely to the ground
  • It's really funny though i'm really not a social person i enjoy the presance of nature more then people.

  • thumbs up!

  • Have no fear for when I'm alone. I'll be better off than I was before. I've got this life, I'll be around to grow. Who I was before I cannot recall. I'll take this soul that's inside me now like a brand new friend I'll forever know. Long nights allow me to feel I'm falling safely to the ground.

  • As if to prove a point I see that Chris is still attracting attention and making people look at themselves and if that brings about the remotest of changes in us then surely thats what makes Chris inspirational ??....am I wrong?

  • This is...beautiful.

  • I love all the music he has done for this movie i couldn't think of any other word that would do jutice in the way i like the into the the wild sound track then LOVE!

  • i love this movie!

not only it's really really damn great movie! (good cinematography, great soundtrack, great performance, great directing, and anything!)

and it's really inspirational movie! I love it so much!

    like really!

i cant describe in a word! here! it's just amazing!

  • I have no words for this..

This is more than just beautiful, it reflects exact the way Chris felt, and I did when I saw the movie, and every time I look at this world and see how idiot people are. We created this whole system of living nothing is really free anymore. Love Eddie and great movie!

  • without words.......great song fora a great film......thanks Eddie,thanks Christopher...

  • You know....what chris did was amazing, what he did was not selfish!

Just because he lived for himself and not everyone else doesn't make him selfish it just makes him different from most.

  • i'm crying inside, ,

  • I think you did a remarkable job with the editing! I like how at 1:30ish area, you cut into where he was writing 'supertramp'...works really great with the song! Great job!

  • @johnjuanunited.... I don't think he expected food on a plate. He went there for the challenge. He wanted solitude from concrete and steel.

  • MY FAVOURITE MOVIE EVUUUR! <3

  • ive always appreciated the video,i think its the best long nights video ive seen, its the first that i saw when i first learned of chris and i still play the same version til this day.

  • il est trop mimi je l'aime

  • I think the cuts are great!

  • wow! this song goes perfectly with Into the Wild...the video's awesome!!

  • "Have no fear

    For when I'm alone

I'll be better off than I was before"

  • the last shot is really powerful

  • awesome movie and great sound track

  • man.. this story, this movie, and the way eddie expressed it in music have moved me in a way i can't really describe.

  • great man that his soul may rest in peace.

  • Hey dudes! You can prepare better is all.Learn some things first and don't cry about killing a moose when you starve.

  • woteva fu7.......so i use a comp..... do you have a point or was it?

  • doing the app trail in 2012 and watching this movie for the first time makes one realize what an amazing adventure it would be to do something just out of curiosity and spontanaiety. into the woods i go and fear not when im alone ill be better off- AEB

  • @BorrisAlmight goodluck with that, i want to do walk the trail too someday. i hope you have a really amazing time

  • Chris escaped the asylum. He climbed over the wall. If we all had such courage life might actually make sense.

  • @oneleggedspider More like he died from being naive. He should have just gotten a map O NO WAIT THAT COSTS MONEY. When someone purports this so to be such a profound/amazing movie I really roll my eyes.. like it's lovely and I do enjoy it but the kid was undeniably young and naive. Escaping the "asylum" is more about beating the system rather than running away from it..

  • I used to think the same thing. And yes it may seem naive but he lived more free than any of us ever will or even dare try. And i think he realized how tough it would be. Not sure if he had the thought " I may die " However i believe in his time alone he was exactly where he wanted to be to find the answers he wanted. So yes with that it was an incredible movie/song/album.

  • @kinikie From your point of view, perhaps. I agree with the original statement. He chose not to be part of the system and not to give in to what people expect from you.

  • @kinikie kinf of agree with you. but still, he was only 22-23 when he "escaped" , that´s way it is said many time in the movie. so yes - he could afford to be naive. anyway, there is a pretty nice discussion about it - and maybe, that´s the director´s point.

anyway - i wish I have a liitle from his courage....I am tired of this consuming world

  • @oneleggedspider the movie was awesome. The kid was courageous. But he was a moron. The message of life is not to jump over that wall and kill yourself. Yes, this world is fucked. But surely there is more to it than running into the wild and withering away.

  • @oneleggedspider who says life is supposed to make sense.

  • love it...... think about it.....strong survive

  • Have no fear For when I'm alone I'll be better off than I was before I've got this life I'll be around to grow Who I was before I cannot recall Long nights allow me to feel... I'm falling...I am falling The lights go out Let me feel I'm falling I am falling safely to the ground Ah... I'll take this soul that's inside me now Like a brand new friend I'll forever know I've got this life And the will to show I will always be better than before ...
  • @GardenOfStone77 thanks , this is deep shit song

  • if i ever commit suicide. this will be the song i do it to.

  • @duhhh676 please dont commit suicide, there are so many enjoyable things you can do. life is for the living live it

  • if only i can leave all my things and into the wild.

Fabuleux!

  • i truly respect chris and he and i are a lot a like i spent 5 years hitchhiking canada and have spent 3 months in the wild aka no mans land ultimate freedom i made some travel videos check em out on my page

  • One of my favorite movies but what people forget, its hard alot of times, if you dont have money its hard to get water and food everyday, sleeping outside etc everybody at one point in their life want to pack their bags and go, but in the end wont do it cause it is a big decision. I know, i will be leaving very soon leaving everything behind myself, without money and on foot but my mind is playing tricks on me everyday because society made brain to think logicly.Check my profile if you like

  • I don't know how much i love this film !! I love chris and his life:) I hope to have a life like him *__*

  • La mia colonna sonora di questo 2010....

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I had the guts to give up my life and live it like Christopher. Inspired by Ghandi? No. Inspired by Jesus? No. Inspired by Christopher? Absolutely.. I bet he's still walking in Alaska..

  • I can honestly say that no movie has ever moved me or inspired me to do anything quite like Into The Wild just amazing. What we believe to be life is not what we believe to be happiness is not what we believe to be beauty is not. We can never understand that unless we are FREE.

  • Movie goes 142 minutes, like the no. of the bus...

  • <3 beautiful.

  • Alexander Supertramp:)

  • Chris proved that we prefer the to have the image of happiness rather than actually be happy.

  • This song is too short.

  • Well done ±'

  • PSH. i pity for those who think what chris did was stupid for they do not know how to truly live their lives like he did.

  • @chelsiibelzi some people live more in one day then others do in a lifetime

  • this is such a beautiful video and film, thank you for making it. This song speaks volumes to me

  • If we do not know if there is an afterlife or what the end holds, then surley we should make the differences in this life we have now.

Utimately if we all concentrate on our own affairs instead of others then we might actually begin to love and become satisfied. Who are we trying to please with our social characteristics, other people, why, who are they? Why so much effort because the companies/bankswho feed off consumerists are the real winners! We are just insignificant victims.

  • he lived his life which is more than most can say.he's with jesus now..
