I get a bit fed up people saying ffolkes was gay....lol. He puts it succinctly-he had been brought up by a maiden aunt, 5 elder sisters, forced to wear their hand-me-downs til the age of 10 and then when wed found he had 5 sisters in law all wanting him to support them. He just got fed up. I like the line 'both my parents died in childbirth!'
fuck me ! roger is like really like mad when he plays this character - he hates women and is really obssessed with cats :/ - still made me laugh even though i prefer the james bond films :)
@deusirae76 He was a repressed homosexual. Moore was badly miscast in this crap movie. In real life he had anal and oral sex with Brian Desmond Hurst many times.
I absolutley love this movie and I wish there would have been a sequel to it. Roger Moore played such a great character in this movie-so totally different from James Bond role. He made me laugh so many times with his arrogance and manner. Thanks for posting.
Felix Leiter? In Dr No: Jack Lord, in Goldfinger: Cec Linder, in Thunderball: Rik Van Nutter, in Diamonds Are Forever: Norman Burton, in Live And Let Die and Licence To Kill: David Hedison, in Cacino Royale and Quantum Of Solace: Jeffrey Wright. There you are :)
Off the top of my head I can remember 3 actors that played Felix. The one in goldfinger, this guy from the Moore and Dalton movies, and then the one in Casino Royale and Quantom of Solice
No, I didn't say he was the only one. There are 7 actors who played Felix.
I can't believe I have to explain this... But, you said 'Felix Lieter, M and Moneypenny' - only one person to have played one of these characters in this - David Hedison.
were both wrong. the lady on the phone looked like lois maxwell for the second she was on screen. idk what i was smoking 2 months ago.
and when i said Bernard Lee, i didnt bother watching this again since i was on break, but i knew M was in this. and the guy im talking about is Robert Brown. he played M after Lee left.
Ok I don't know what crawled up your ass, but Robert Brown has been in 5 James bond movies. Four of them which he played M. He is the guy in the helicopter around 2:33.
Now if you could take a picture of your face when you realize I'm right about that, I would like to add it to my kodak moment collection
Wow ok my bad, but I'm not the only person that thinks that looks like Robert Brown. But instead of you saying from the beginning "the man you think is M isn't, he just looks like him" you had to go and make a big deal. I'll fix my comment
With felix lighter, someone who can pass as M, and Roger Moore, it might as well be a bond movie.
@qwertdr -Have you seen the first 007-film Casino Royale? I haven`t. I wonder if Felix Leiter is in that one? I count six actors in the EON-007 or the official ones (doesn`t matter much thoug) I want to see the first 007-film from 1954. I have heard that it is very bad, but as an old fan, you know :)
This Movie remember me totally on Metal Gear Solid Sons of Liberty.
When i played MGS Sons of Liberty the first time i must think all the time on this Movie.

Great movie of an eccentric man who hated women but loved pussy like the end when he doesn't want medals so they present him with kittens purrfect!

From what I've heard, this role actually was Moore's personal favorite as well.
In any way, this performance was his greatest!

@captain2ahab, @chrismc410, @cheyennefan223, @paulcutlip, @2koranteng Probably the only movie with the main character an overt misogynist-as-hero. And that's aside from his other eccentricities.
Further development of the ffolkes character and a sequel with a bigger budget might be interesting.

This movie is absolutely great. My favourite !

One of my favs of all time.
His arrogance is superbly played. Unlike 007 movies, this one is almost truly believable, and without a single special effect.

Hilarious seeing Roger Moore in a very atypical role. "You really don't like women, do you?" "I DO NOT."

Moore seems to play the character brilliantly, making him instantly likable despite his arrogance, thanks for sharing, loved the clips

ffolkes was NOT homosexual- just had HAD IT with women. Also, the producer's
wife was my fiance's best friend. back in the 1980's. I know more about this movie than most
viewers. Roger Moore was a VP of Faberge-Europe and had a G-3 or G-4 at
his disposal.

An awful movie with Moore badly miscast as the homosexual Ffolkes.

@deusirae76 It was a boring movie with hardly any action scenes.

@JuanMacready I'm not only interested in action movies. This one was suspenseful enough with a heck of a cast yet not really the best in the genre.

Facepalm moment.
Read carefully.
The only actor in this film to have starred in a Bond film other than Roger Moore is David Hedison, who played Felix on 2 occasions.
Prove to me - and I mean REALLY prove to me otherwise. You'll find you can't do it.
Lois, Bernard, Robert - I don't care about that as it is irrelevant.
You are wrong - I've been right all along.

It looks a tiny bit like him - BUT IT OBVIOUSLY ISN'T ROBERT BLOODY BROWN.
I don't need to be told how many films Robert Brown plays M in or whatever - I know that and it is irrelevant.
Look at the damn cast list - look at a picture of this man and Brown together.
That's what's 'crawled up my arse' - YOU just being an egit.
