My vent works when I have windows up, but the second I pull up my game client, my PTT key doesnt work (I use this because it sounds like im in a hurricane no matter what my setttings are if i dont have ptt set) I can still hear my teammates, but i cannot talk ingame. but the second i return back to windows and minimize the game it works?

@velvetrevolver60 you have to go to your set up on ventrilo then look for hot key when you connect to some one you press the key it shows in "hot key"

hwo do you turn yourself up cuz im not sure and my friends on vent are always telling me "We can't hear you!" and yeah i turned up my mic and my outbound but it still wont turn up i have a headset

yes you want to use push-to-talk, because there are times when your fan is blowing next to you and if your using speakers and are listening to music you dont want that to annoy whoever is in the channel.

I always use push-to-talk, since its ...better meaning you have full control over your voice

good tutorial, but I think you could have been more brief. Getting the user to have top three options (outgoing, directinput, push to talk hotkey + hotkey) and Use DirectSound is really all you need for a new user aside from Connection info. Try giving a tutorial for general ventrilo not just regarding your guild. You have a good way of helping and explaining...kudos!
