I'm trying to learn more about my Jewish heritage because my mom converted and raised me Christian. My question is, what is the Talmud, who is it written by and does it explicitly say Jesus is bad (that's what I'm getting from the lecture so far?)

I don't understand that you believe in the messiah and he's coming... then when he comes because he isn't all big and tall and killing all of your enemies your like..he's not my messiah?..well what's going to happen when he does start to do that? then he's your messiah, hmm?

@ChildofYeshua777 + In Acts 11:26 St. Luke relates that in Antioch the followers of Jesus were first called Christians; this preceeded St. Ignatius by about a generation.

@RPenta Luke was written in about 85-90 A.D. Depends on the translation, too. KJV was 1611. Kristos is Greek for Moshiach. Kind of a language barrier.

Its clear with deeper study that Pauls message compared to that of Jesus were strongly at odds with one another. One may venture to say that it could be discerned that Jesus' reference to the false prophet that would come in his name could be strongly accomodated by the teachings of Paul. Think about it, at least as a possibility. It would not be fair to say that Jesus was not a man of understanding or prediction. The idea that J was Torah observant is hogwash (so to speak). For example, in Mark 7:19 Jesus “declared all foods clean." Somehow he overrules God. Opening the door for the polytheism and idolatry of Xianity. Including worshiping the "lamb" (a.k.a. golden calf in Exodus), blood drinking, flesh eating. Pure paganism.

@dvkuth The Lamb a title symbolizing Jesus sacrificial role as a Priest who offers himself up to God as the Lamb, spotless. It doesn't have anything to do with paganism. Jesus and the disciples were all Jewish monotheists.

The arguement against Paul is useless. He was a Torah observant Jew, we know that he persecuted Christians. It's early 2000 years ago basically, and its gonna take some transformative power to convert a zealous Jew, don't you think?
