  • Is there ever a time that steam goes past Lahaska? They did have a photo freight to Ivyland a few years ago, which I was on, but they should have more runs to Buckingham Valley and Wycombe with steam. Oh, is #40 running yet? Will it be running at all this year even on the December trains?

  • BTW do you know how much a cabride is on 40?

  • @indie1361 Offhand I'm not sure, but go to NH&I's website, go to contact us, then click where it says "click here" under join our mailing list then send them an email about cab rides. In fact there's a box on that page where it says "locomotive cab rides". Make sure you put a check next to that.

  • @indie1361 A cabride in 40 ironically costs $40.

  • Thank god she's got her rebuild. Does it have to be over that long period, or can it be sped up?

  • @indie1361 Nothing can really be rushed on a steam locomotive, otherwise it's just cause for unnecessary headaches. The amount of time it takes will depend on whatever necessary repairs she may need, which hopefully won't be too much.

  • @srr7312 Oh ok so they strip her down and see what needs fixing.

  • @indie1361 Yup they strip her down to nothing and do any needed repairs.

  • @srr7312 I remember last year she was back on the line a little late, but now it's even later!

  • what whistle was she wearing???

  • Perfect calender shot at 9:58!

  • Wasnt that just repairs??

  • @trainfann1 Honestly I have no idea.

  • @trainfann1

40 only has about 19 or 20 days left on hers tubes then she will be back out for awhile to get them replaced.

  • When is #40 due for a rebuild plz respond??

  • @trainfann1 I thought she just got rebuilt....

  • @srr7312 she was down for nessecary maintinance in early 2010. She is now down for her 1472 day rebuild, but this is progressing rapidly, and #40 is due back this fall.

  • @tropicalfishswim Thanks for the info!

  • Very nice video!!! 5*

  • @jordimikado Thanks!

  • Great vid. Just a question is the open air car new on the nh&i because i was there last summer and they didn't have it, just wondering.

  • @modeltrainman12345 I'm not really sure because I don't go there often.

  • wonderful scenery and photography--you should be very proud of this video.& others..i have to see them all--thx

  • @simonmoves Thanks!

  • Excellent video!!! I have to get there maybe some day.Does any know about the 6 or 7 LIRR coaches on a siding? I was just curious if any has their former or current car #s. Thanks.

  • @Rts4108 Thanks! As for the coaches, I have no idea. Maybe someone who goes to NH&I more frequently can answer.

  • How do you make the intro. I like it a lot.

  • @rgerhardtembarq Thanks! I made it in Final Cut Pro by putting random clips together, added music, and then the logo coming together was done with special effects in that program.

  • @srr7312 What program is it?

  • @rgerhardtembarq The program that I said in the other comment....Final Cut Express (my bad I said Final Cut Pro in the other comment but it's actually the Express version).

  • Comment removed

  • @srr7312 Ok thanks a lot!

  • @rgerhardtembarq No problem!

  • srr7312 yo bro - sorry if a 9 year old offended u by asking u to PLEASE RESPOND - guess he is 2 polite

  • @trainfann1 No I'm not saying you were being that way, I'm just saying that there's no reason to say "please respond" because I always respond to everyone's comments. ;)

  • One more thing is 7087 working or not please respond?

  • @trainfann1 You don't have to say please respond....again I don't know. I don't go the NH&I that much.

  • @trainfann1 Hey buddy, 7087 is in service, however it is sparingly used. 2198 is the main passenger diesel, but if problems arise with it 7087 will fill in.

  • When is railfan weekend 2010 please respond

  • @trainfann1 I'm not sure, check the NH&I website.

  • @trainfann1 They haven't done it in the past years because there is not a big turnout.

  • Nice shots! I was chasing her about 2 weeks ago and to my surprise she was going probably 30 miles an hour!

  • @rgerhardtembarq Thanks, I have a feeling that was close to the speed she was doing this day. I was blown away by how fast she was going.

  • @srr7312 Same with me! My hat almost fell off!

  • @rgerhardtembarq Track speed is only 20mph at it's max point.

  • Dude...why do you not have more subscribers? EXCELLENT video, man! 40 looks and sounds better than ever! Love that SP 6 chime and I'm glad they finally installed an air rocker on the bell. I have to go and see her next month

  • @boberttrain831 Thanks man! Yea make sure you get out there, she definitely put on a great show.

  • boy does her bell sound better now that it moves back and fourth.

  • Looks like the engineer really had NH&I #40 flying that day. Really wanna go back there.

    -Max

  • Awesome video! #40 is such a beautiful locomotive, and I'm really happy that it is back in action. I'm a bit surprised that its bell actually swings now.

  • @GenesisSanctuary Thanks! I've been waiting a while for #40 to come out, my dad found out on a forum (I think Railway Preservation News) that 40 was back out and running so we knew we had to get out there.

  • Love air rocker!

  • Nice video! The intro was amazing and the shots that you got were really sweet! I love that whistle 40 had on that day! What kind of video editing software do you use?

  • @Bassfanatic94 Thanks! I use Final Cut Express which is a pro editing software for macs.

  • @srr7312 Nice do they have it for PC's or laptops?

  • @Bassfanatic94 Nah Final Cut only works for macs, but it can work for laptops as long as they are macbooks, or something similar.

  • not many people on the train

  • @hallcert Yea there weren't a lot lol.

  • @hallcert - Ridership can be pretty eratic on the NH&I... some trains will be full, others will have only one car filled... But, they do a very nice job, no matter how many passengers they have :)

  • Awesome video! Lovin that whistle!!

  • @TNtrainboy15 Thanks!

  • Nice work. I see they finally got one of the ex. NS units into the shop area. Have to go down there and see those things before they are moved out.

  • @Espee9180 Thanks! Do you happen to know what the NS units are for?

  • @srr7312

They are for a new luxury passenger train run for the Greenbrier Hotel. There are 3 units and they will be serviced in New Hope, then moved to Pottstown, PA for final painting. Pottstown is also where the passenger cars are being built and painted.

  • @Espee9180 Ah I see...I heard about the Greenbrier Express before. Sounds cool that they are using NS units for that.

  • i absolutely love the whistle - what type is it??

  • @bigjim4life My guess is it's either a Southern 3 or 6 Chime, I'm no expert so maybe someone who knows can give a better answer.

  • @srr7312 thats their southern pacific 6 chime step top

  • @Engineer5344 Thanks for the info!

  • @srr7312 no prob

  • Great video, and it's nice to see 40 finally out again

  • @joneau261 Thanks! I've been waiting this whole year for 40 to come out, and man does she sound and run great!
