@matiseq Bullshit. Coldsteel=Crapsteel. Chris reeve uses the best A2 and heat treating. Owned many Crapsteel and when you use them for real they get dull fast.

To be fair to Chris Reeves knives Noss of jnife test fame doesn't test each knife like for like. Becasue you have a lumbering man pound away at the back fo the blade with a 3 pound club hammer the strikes are always variable and can differ from knife to knife so in now way can you really compare each knife against others from Noss's test.

You would have to use machines to pound the knifes with the same force and angle to really compare them to each other.

I own three Chris Reeve knives . I bought my first one in 1987 its marked South Africa . Im very happy with mine....sorry you arnt . Mine cuts butcher paper and hair just fine . My only complaint is I cant get a replacement butt-cap for the knife I bought in 1987 . They threaded a batch to an oddball thread pattern and now Im stuck . This was pretty cheesy on Chris Reeves part . For customer satisfaction they should make a few butt-caps for this odd thread pitch to have on hand for customers .

Don't let the looks fool you. These knives are not rugged, outdoor blades. You may only cut things with these. You can't depend on CRK for chopping, or other wilderness tasks. Only cutting. Butter. Preferably warm butter.

i use a CRK since one year , a Mountaineer 2, and i chop, batton, and pry with. i never had a problem. even the coating hold well on the blade.
