  • Great song, thanks. you sing it really well!

  • Very beautiful.

  • beautiful, thanks.

  • Its beautiful....its really a beautiful voice....Liliana !! I luv u......!!

  • At first, I thought, "This is too lyrical! He wrote it in a march rhythm!"--but then it occurred to me that this interpretation might suit the meaning better :)

  • love it,glad to see phil lives on in the memory of th enlightened...

  • Joan Baez is that you?

  • LILIANA FOR PRESIDENT 2012

  • theres a song i think you should sing is called "and the band played waltsing matilda"

please let me know if you can do it

  • Lovely girl and marvellouse voice. Mmmm !

  • also, this video makes me wonder.... where the hell did i put my capo????

  • oh my goodness i love you

  • Bautiful voice. I was cryin' after i heard it.

  • beautiful voice. i love you Rose

  • you have a very beautiful and pure voice..!! good guitar too.:)

    good song to!!

  • Stunning! What a cover of a great song. One of the best performances on Yutube!.

  • How did you find Phil Ochs? I almost forgot about him and yet I loved his music; his lyrics; his voice. BTW, the lyrics are still valid.

  • You should be on American Idol

  • Stumbled upon your videos, your great!! You remind me of a young Joan Baez, keep on singing those folk-songs! Good luck on all your future endeavors!

  • Very nice voice

  • thank you for the emotion that just flooded from me.that was truely beautiful

  • Thanks for making it end on the tonic!

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • you have great style and voice and i could listen to you all day.brilliant video. CARL

  • I lvoe your cover of this song LiliAna. Just beautiful and quite appropriate for today too.

  • Amazingly beautiful.

  • damn you´re my favorit... you singing zevon and ochs songs... freaking good

  • beautiful voice. not like i'm in any position to critique, as i haven't done anything better, but the slight lyrical variants aren't necessary to make the song your own; if anything, i feel as though it slightly detracts from it. inflecting the song with your own melody is enough, and it's great to keep something, and someone, that should be so prominent nowadays as such. cheers.

  • @nutopia1213 I like the variants and paraphraseing the melody it gives the song a country flavor

  • Nice voice on PO classic.

  • beautiful voice and excellent choice of song. Good work!

  • Nice clear voice and presentation - Are you playing anywhere?

  • This sounds really good. Also, it's a great choice of song, with a good message.

  • Beautiful voice. Great song. Kind of haunting coming from a voice like hers.

May Ochs rest in peace. He may have died, but his music never will.

  • Bravo, great job on a great song.

  • I'd love to hear her do Dylan's "Lay Down Your Weary Head" (or whatever it's called!)

  • awesome

  • glorious version. do you have any more Ochs?

  • a crystalline voice.

  • Great job covering one of my favourite Phil Ochs songs- well done

  • Thank You

    Love to all

  • This is really nice played a little slower like this. I think you are doing great justice to these songs.

  • Great performance of a timeless song.

  • Nice job! I love to hear ones own take on a song, especially Phil Ochs-thats why they call it art!!!

  • It's beautiful, the arrangement is fabulous and you have a gorgeous voice. I think you have plenty of great raw emotion and it just comes out differently. This version comes out more like a version of Danny Boy, I heard sung by Anne Byronne which is the most gorgeous version of that song I've ever heard, and this version of Phil's makes me feel the same way as Anne's Danny Boy, keep going you're one of the few people who post on Youtube who actually should.

  • I like it but damn it wheres the fire you hear it a little in your voice on the last I aint marching anymore but when Phil sings this I cry when you sing it I think thats a pretty arrangement and voice and it is but I guess I like raw emotion that only Phil could give this song but way to put ur stamp on a Great song

  • nice lady, :)

  • You're amazing. Kind of Joan Baezish.

  • Your good!

  • Great song, impressive performance!

Have you considered doing Dylan's "With God on our side"?

I love your selection of songs...

  • I aint marchin anymore.... Never again

  • I think you have alot of talent.....but to do a Phil Ochs song you have to remember that he didn't care to be famous....he had a mission and bled for his music....do you bleed for your message?

  • I really like your version of this. I'm a big fan of Phil Ochs and, even where your own arrangement departs from his, it's still great. Very folk...

  • You are brilliant! I love Phil Ochs and your version was so beautiful. Great job! <3

  • just curious is that a yamaha guitar?

  • Yeah different, but nice cover. Good to see that Phil is as relevant as ever.

  • im sorry to say this but i like this but phil ochs is much better because hes faster and he done it with more passion. He did this song before veitnam was a big issue and still hated the "conflict". Phil just had the fire and anger in him all directed to racsim and big business and the lies of government. Him, Pete Seeger, and woddy guthrie are the greatist anti-establishment singers ever. But this is a good cover

  • I really like her version, but I must admit Zappa8705 has a point.

  • Wow, just beautiful.

  • Truly amazing...and such a wonderful take on phil...

  • Folk at its best. And yes you remind me of Baez. Which in my case is a compliment.

  • very nice, go to see young people singing phil

  • Very pretty, makes me think of Joan Baez

  • Injuns is not the preferred nomenclature. American Indians, please.

  • @RickyJ108 it's called SATIRE, you moron!

  • I aint marching anymore. Its time for a new era, go forward together, or not at all.

  • Will you marry me?

  • Now THAT's something Phil would be damn proud of, as many of us are. ;-)

    Overwhelming, really.

    Thanks for the wonderful time.

    Cheers!

  • You have a lot of talent and a beautiful voice and looks.

  • Nice. Well done.

  • When you sing "topical" contents like the last verse, you'd better make some change adding new words to them. Nice voice though.

  • beautiful voice!

  • wow amazing voice what an epic cover

  • you've got such a beautiful voice. amazing cover!

  • Yes, I heard Phil do it also. He will always be near and dear to me. But, this is a beautiful expression of the power of the song.LiliAna keep up the good work with your fine voice.

  • Very impressive. Nicely done. You have a lot of talent.

  • Great singing sweatheart. I have been trying to find this song for many years.

    Thank you.

  • great cover, and lovely voice...

  • Great voice singing a great song, thanks

  • I'm sure you're talented, but this wasn't a good idea.

  • Beautiful. I love your voice and this song. Phil Ochs is a wonderful choice to cover.

  • You're good and you're authentic. But one suggestion. This song, which I heard live in Chicago in '68 is not a lament. It's a protest song. It's about stupid policies killing boys your age. Your brother. Your boyfriend. Sing like you hurt and like you're mad. If you don't, if you aren't, why would you bother to sing these words? Put your guts into it. It'll flow.

  • I'm an admirer. I watched the fun on tv. Did you get bashed or gassed by Mayor Daley's finest? Is the streets where you heard Phil do this song? I agree Liliana doesn't sound very pissed off.

  • I heard Ochs sing the song inside in an auditorium of some sort, filled with protesters, many of whom burned their draft cards during the song. I only got hit once, just innocently crossing the street. The tension was high and the police were at the end of their rope. Of course, we weren't exactly feeling relaxed either. Everyone there got gassed. There was no way to avoid that.

  • u need a stages...n some fans

  • beautiful, you look like Joan Byaz

  • amazing.

  • Beautiful voice. One of my favorite songs by Phil Ochs.

Although, I gotta admit I'm still marching, one day I dream I won't have to march anymore.

  • Thanks

  • nice voice but youre way too safe with this cover

  • I think I agree with tophue here. You have a beautiful voice but this song really needs the irony that Phil brought to it.

  • Nice rendition of Phil Ochs song. Keep playing and singing. I'd like to hear more!

  • That was lovely. I'm a Phil Ochs fan and you did this song proud - thanks :)

  • Beautiful! And the song wasn't bad either. ;)

  • i'm still sticking with the original, but that is not to say you don't have a beautiful voice. great job

  • mi cancion favorita!!! muchas gracias! eres una cantanta muy bello =D

  • Beautiful. And the cover wasn't bad either.

  • Call me for a duett, if you ever come to Germany ;-) Thank you for brilliant 3m30s! FREEdom 4ever!!

  • You remind me of me of my sis (a great singer by swedish measures)... but I have too admit that your voice is outstanding by comparison. And the choice of tune is really great! Thumbs up and good luck in all you future endeavors (had too google that last word =) )

  • Excellent

  • Wow- You are very pretty but what is even sexier is that you have the taste to play such a good folk song....If you ever need a drummer in PA!

  • that was fantastic

  • sei proprio un amore

  • sei un amore

  • you are just joan baez

  • From Sweden... You're great! Given any toughts too a version of Joe Hill? P.S. Divine voice and as far as I can tell outstanding guitaring. If you you ever try too make it big in scandinavia count me in as a fan =)

  • THANX YOU'RE A BABE & THAT WAS GREAT!!

  • nice! keep singing, the fight is far from won.

  • Great stuff

  • Thank you for that. Keep Phil Ochs music alive.

  • Joan Baez's spirit is definately inside you!

  • This is a really nice version of a great song. I'm not used to the mellowness at the beginning, but I like the way you built the song up in energy.

  • Keep up the good work!!!x5

  • You did a wonderful job in honouring Phil Ochs. This was sung so beautiful and with passion. Thank you!

    GJ

  • Young lady, you have a lot of talent. And you chose one of Phil Och's best songs. It's good to see his songs live on in the younger generations. After all these years his songs are more relevant now than ever.

  • wow this chics voice is angelic brings it back to old school were it was still ok to hit the kids with rulers... well you know what i mean lol

  • AWESOME COVER

  • Great great cover of one of my all-tiome favourite songs. Back then songs meant something

  • i love this song. great version too

  • Amazing Cover

  • Tis always nice to share Phil's Music.....May I ask how old you are.....It's alway's nice to share good music with those that are unfamiliar or of younger generation....Phil wrote many songs...tis nice to see a pretty girl pay tribute to him... :) I know most of his songs, even the obscure ones...Take Care and keep enjoying Phil's music...he was one of a kind... Dylan can't do him justice :)

  • Beautiful.

  • Very moving and sadly, just as relevant as it was the first time I heard it 39 years ago.

  • i'm working on some extended lyrics to include some of the 'more important' battles and wars and hopefully more about the CAUSES of war. namely, deception, greed, and mind kontrol.

    beautiful and unique rendition!

  • What a freaking terrific version.

    Phil Ochs lives on.

  • How wonderful.. I would love to see you do Crucifixion by Phil Ochs!

  • wow, such a pretty voice and a pretty face to go with it

  • Wonderful job!!!!

  • I've never heard Joan Baez's version of this, but I'd be very interested to! Did she ever record it? If so, is it on any live albums or anything? I tried to research it, but I'm not finding anything!

  • Fantastic job! I love this song. Phil Ochs was awesome.

  • United Fruit screams at the Cuban shore,

Call it "Peace" or call it "Treason,"

Call it "Love" or call it "Reason,"

    Charming Iam2130,

Learn about the economic exploitation by United Fruit and you will begin to understand the Cuban Revolution of Che and Fidel.

  • she's beautiful and talented, I see a star in the making :P best of luck 2 ya, peace out

  • Nice job on a great song, so relevant today.

  • OK, here's my wish list:

    1. Farewell Angelina. I have Bob & Joan back to back on my playlist, Bob with Covers (p. 4). Both are great.

    2. Mail Order Annie, by Harry Chapin. I have it on The Past, Part 1 (p. 5).

    3. Lizzie Lindsay. On Silly Love Songs (p. 10). This one is actually a request from my wife.

    Anything you play, we like.

  • Hey, your music is terrific. Great repertoire, great influences. Seems you get lots of requests. I'll post mine on my next comment (not enough characters left on this one). I think these songs will nicely reflect your style, yet expand your skills. Meanwhile, keep the songs toolin, but don't forget the schoolin.
