i dont get y evry1 shits their pants over mac all the time. it tries 2 do evrythin 4 u wich is a pain in the ass (for me at least, cuz it always thinks i wanna do exactly wat i dont want to), way less software available, and as for the 'apple has no virus' argument. because apple thinks no1 makes viruses 4 their computers, they hav no protection so wen u actually do get a virus BOOM! thats it, ur computer may as well not exist anymore. also, 4 sum reason internet craps out evry once in a wile

Do they do gigs (not like this; have a real band set up) at the 5th Avenue store like they do in London? They've done about 15 high profile gigs at the store, and another 30 at a separate venue under the iTunes name. Pretty cool if you can get in; free and it's very intimate.

I have had my emac on since x-mas 24/7 and i have had not problems but it turns off the hard disk after like an hour with no use!, and i tend to play a video randomly when i am not using it, cause i dont want my screen to burn in!

You probably know this already, but I will still mention it for anyone who does not: you can disable the auto disk sleep mode by unchecking the option in your Energy Saver preference pane. I do suggest keeping it checked, though. The only disk I have to go to sleep automatically is my external.

Well, Yes you can, I always left my old imac G3 on all the time and it still works and it's been 5 years. I just Got a new Mac Mini dual Core and I plan on leaving it on all the time. The only time these computers are turned off is if the power goes out. :) Apple is jut that good!

Bobby is indeed correct. Unlike most Windows computers, Macs can stay on... literally forever. My PowerBook is on 24/7 and I have had no problems. I still do the occassional restart to obtain all my RAM back, though.

acctually leaving a mac on all the time is better because when its turned on it automatically defrags the hard disk and does other things so it will still run like its brand new. but these tasks happen at certain times a day so if its off when a task is due it wont happen. Macs acctually look after themselves while on windows you have to defrag the disks every month manually

Now I finally know what that noise is every couple of days, when the HD make little sound like I'm looking for something on the HD when I'm not. I had a feeling it was doing something like that, but I was exactly sure what. It last about 2 minutes usually. Mac's even sweep the floor when you're not around, so to speak. I don't leave mine on 24/7, but I do work late into the night.
