  • I want one so bad

  • jut put a litter box in each corner and you shouldn,t have an heating in that room because ferret room are suposed to be same temprature then outdoors.

  • i shit in corners so thats not so concerning u should be concerned about that steelers shit that is questionable.......hope that helped!

  • "I had to tape up, becuase the lil son of a bitch could get in the airconditioner!" oh god thats priceless

  • Same with me I didn't use any soap at all

  • like...how duz it smell?

  • @ilovedamusic1000 kind of good

  • Did you finally get her litter trained?

How are you managing the strong smell?

  • @catherineistoocool Impossible. cleaning cleaning cleaning. the smell is potent even with glands removed and after awhile its just impossible to cover up. reccomend tile floors for easy cleaning and to reduce the smell absorbing into carpet. high maintenance pets. a frend of mine now has them. she has about 13 in total now and is a huge ferret freak. they are in good hands.

  • your a grub.. get a girlfriend, eg- strange noises? and the burp? and dude just look at your house :|

  • @mizlovermizanin your a moron, they were confined to the seccond bedroom, and i wonder what my wife would think about me having a girlfriend. My house is quite clean and orderly.............Go project your insecurities on someone else fatty!

  • put the pans in the corners because as you said, ferrrets tend to poop in corners..

so if a ferret puts its behind near the walls, then hold it and put it in the litter pan and as ssoon as it is finished, praise it and give her some treats RIGHT away :)

  • getting her scent gland removed doesnt do anything about her natural odor. And it doesnt get its scent gland removed, it simply takes the ability to produce an odor when scared, much like a skunk, you cant remove a scent gland, there are simply too many of them.

  • yeah i have 2 feerets.. 1 theres no problem with him he goes in the box all the time, i dont have a room for them just a big cage but my other ferrets is a subborn piece of shit.. she has this certian corner she always shits so i put big rocks there so she moves them and manages to shit there. she still doesnt get it.. dumb fucking animals

  • Instead of a whole room, get a Ferret Cage and put litter on each level of cage... It'll save a lot of space, and also good for animal.

  • I wanted to get a ferret as pet but this type of shit about them makes me not...

  • Try looking for ferret forums online- you'll probably find some people who currently have ferrets and can give you better "from experience" advice than I can. lol.

    - Good luck! -

  • I suggest you read what it says in that book- I can't recall exactly, but they require certain things in their diet: so read the label of any food you buy.

I don't yet have ferrets- I'm still researching. I have looked at some of the foods out there though, and I've noticed that just because it says it's for ferrets or has a picture on the front, that doesn't mean it has everything they need in it. :-(

I'm not sure about Marshall's specifically- where I haven't noticed it in stores.

  • As far as chewing goes, I really don't know. I have heard mixed things about Ferrets and chewing. Some of the people I've met who have ferrets say that they will chew through anything, and some people say their ferrets don't chew at all.

I'd say if you do what people with pet rats do - cover your wires with duct tape or those plastic wire covers - that should help. I would still watch and check the wires every so often anyway - ferrets have stronger teeth than rats!

  • You should read up a bit!

One of the best ways to get them to go in the litter pan is to put the pans in the corners - you'll probably need to put one in each corner.

Bathe her as infrequently as possible- if you do it too often it will cause her to produce more scent. Once a month is the most often you should, less is better.

A good book to read about ferret care is "Ferrets for Dummies" - I think it has the most up-to-date information available at the moment.

    Hope that helps!

  • yeah i didnt really use any soap... just a rinse off.. She has had her scent glands removed so she is not bad at all. I am picking up the book you reccomended. i am also worried about power cords and food. i saw her starting to chew a cord but it was only a nibble real fast. but i am curious if i can get regular ferret food or if the Marshalls brand is really worth it.
