  • After the MSA the price of Marlies jumped to about $70 a carton. That's when I switched to the American Natives brand for a time. At about $12 - $18 a carton these were a pretty good substitute for Marlboro.

Shortly after that, I stopped buying untaxed cigarettes.... my conscience got the better of me.... I thought of Frederick Douglas - "I stole this head, these arms, this body... and ran off with them." How dare I steal these lungs of mine from the voters of Ontario.

  • Back before the MSA it was party time here in Ontario. I could go up to the Six Nations Indian Reserve and get damn fine tasting Marlboro Cigarettes for as low as $12 bucks (Canadian) a carton. For a year or two it was like being on a "Freedom Holiday," right here at home, without having to go to Vegas or Cuba(!)

  • I read some of the Master Settlement agreement.

And one of the most frightening issues is that new domistic cigarette and foreign companies have to pay money into an escrow account if they wish to sell cigarettes in the US.

  • Yah, that's what I've been trying to say!

  • Sick, man , Sick.
