  • Any other voice when saying this is simply the greatest strategy game ever

    -no.

    Slight British voice

    -indeed, mate

  • Can you play the American Civil War and win the war with the CSA and then continue the game as CSA in Doomsday? If I can do that, I am already sold. Also, cant wait to end my Grand Campaign in EU2 with the Ottomans to play with them on Vicky and then on DD :P

  • dude i never knew u played paradox games =O

  • great game but the only criticism i have is that when you conquer an area the enemy can show up out of now where and appear again. specially if your army is small and you dont have enough divisions to hold the area.

  • is there supply routes in this game? can you blow up bridges? if you cant i do not see this realistic

  • i am not getting warm with this game however i finished europa universalis III several times and hearts of iron 2.

but this is so hard to get into that i am only getting frustrated.

  • This is also definately one of my favorite games, its not as sandbox as victoria 2 and it relies more on historically driven even like HOI2, but still open enough to let you choose your own path. WW1 starts in this game unlike Victoria 2, even starting at 1836.

  • can you play this game on windows vista?xp

  • @leemanu94 i'm play on vista without problems

  • @leemanu94 yea, all Paradox games run great on Vista. I have EU2 and HoI2DD and I will get Vicky and Arma soon.

  • you can get rid of the messages you dont want to read

  • I was a little disappointed in this game rebellions were springing up every time i played i couldnt build factories when i wanted and it was so unfriendly to new users that it made the game very poor in my eyes.

Not as good as EU or HOI.

  • You're absolutely right, I come back to this game over and over. It is by far the best strategy game I've played. I'm surprised you didn't give it a ten.

Have you played it multiplayer? And if so, how is it? How does it work when you can't pause or slow the time down. I would go insane without that in this game. Normal speed without the pause button is extremely stressful.

  • so this is a WW1 version of Hearts of Iron? Is it better? Just I loved Hearts of Iron but I am looking for another scenario

  • most used word: aaaaaahhhmmnn

  • Is this a good game?

  • I love how you can take a nation from Victoria ot Hearts of Iron, it is wonderful. I fought about 5 world wars, the last one probably ending the world with nukes, lol

  • i'm a fan of Hearts of Iron but will i like this game?

  • @arwing20 WHO KNOWS???????

  • I just suck badly at this game. Actually, at every single paradox game I played I sucked... But still like them, I don't know why.

  • this game is very hard to begin with.

i got started in EU3 after a few hours but i have no idea what to do in victoria.

  • i don't know if you've played EU3 but, if you have, would you say that this game is more indepth than EU? I've just purchased EU3 but after finding out about this, i'm wonder if i made the right choice.

  • @magorianworld Max the budget on crime rate and maybe enlisting the outsiders would help a little, I have revolts as well, but I always maintain a land unit within the radius of higher revolt. Upgrade your province so to decrease unemployment rate.

  • @magorianworld calvary fit for this job. Make sure to develop up the economy better, so you won't have too much revolts.

  • @magorianworld it is one transport ship per land unit, so make one transport ship and the rest is self-explanatory.

  • does this work on Vista

  • @MrAlexanderXII it works

  • @36utube ok already got it

  • This game is indeed detailed oriented and is harder to play an uncivilized nation than the one in Europa Universalis. I just responded one video of me playing as China and accidentally responded another irrelevant video...

  • For veteran players like me playing on single mode, China is pretty much the most broken country in the game if you know how to play with it. Once you get to civilization status you can easily achieve an industrial score of 34000 and higher with a government with "Residence" status and exponentially higher with a government with "Full Citizenship" status. Basically if you can civilize China then you basically win the game.

  • Can you use load the Save Data on Victoria Revolutions and continue on hearts of Iron Arsenal of Democracy!?

  • Can u help me ? where I can to download the game "Victoria: Revolution" In my country (ARMENIA) doesn't exist this game !

  • @starboygarik buy it via Steam (Download steam and buy via credit/paypal card

  • @franbatista123 No thanks! I have already downloaded for free

  • Didn't feel like cutting the 2 minutes of loading off the front?

  • Should I get this or hearts of iron 2??

  • This game is way ahead of its time !!

    F'IN LOVE IT

  • and there is a great and open community that will help you out with the problems.

  • Watching you do some things in this video, such as putting all taxes at 50% and tariffs at full makes my eyes hurt.

Doing that means that your people will have no money thus making them revolt constantly, and also mean that you can't get immigration! As Germany, after defeating France, their economy must have tanked because I started getting loads of French immigrants filling up crappy factories such as wineries and paper mills.

  • This game is incredible. The way that you can change history by the decisions you make is such a thrill. I remember I was Austria for a game and I managed to delay the unification of Germany for a bit by declaring war against some of the German states. I eventually won the war and took a large portion of Prussia and other small city states. When the time for the unification occured, some of the states formed their own federation and as a result, Germany was tiny!

  • I wish you could say the same thing about the HOI3 AI... =/

  • im trying to get into the game but i keep starting wars and getting my ass kicked ill give it some more goes tho hahaha

  • There are options at the beginning to turn down AI hostility and difficulty. Also mobilising all the time will piss neighbours off no end - just so you know.

  • @scottishterrierdude Hey man, I have a question... the first time I got Vicky, the soldier population in my country didn't deplete for every new division I created. The second time I downloaded it (virus in between) my soldier pop was directly connected to my reinforcing etc. Now I'm getting it again but I just want to know... ;)

  • Ok before going into the game change the A.I. settings to weak or something. The reason why you probably start wars is b/c you somehow, left click and it say got to war and you click it. Try no to left clic k on other countries. Also turn the fog of war off, maybe that would help.

  • Best. game. ever. Well... tied for first ADOM and Nethack anyhow.

  • hi there.

anyone here know how to permit full citizenship?

if it forcefully has to be one policy of the ruling party, how do I make the ruling party change the crap that is lim. citizenship to full citizenship?

    thanks in advance.

  • as far as I'm aware the parties maintain their platforms however if you change their stance (open db/parties/ "whatever country") in the excel type folders then save it, you can have all the parties promote full citizenship as you want. Be careful when making the change of course and hope that helps.

  • Maybe is you allow all political parties into your country or right to ban. Find a party that has full citizenship then set as ruling party. Well with some countries you can do that. To me its not a hige issue b/c i always play Prussia/Germany.

  • thanks for the tips ive got the hang of it just i cant colonize it wont let me build any of the colony buildings ive built my ports up to a small harber thats as far as my tech will let me go any ideas?

  • @vw22bmw I had problems colonising as well playing as Sweden. I found when I expanded the port in Stavanger (rather than Stockholm), I could start colonising West Africa. Once you have colonised (eg Rookstown) , expand the port there to go further into southern Africa. Another thing you can do is invade uncivilised countries like Egypt, get some land and build ports or invade further away (Oman/Dubai/Brunei are good because you get oil later).

  • lol socialist? no thanks.

  • This really is a fantastic game. You can do anything in it. I created a grand coalition as Spain, which included France, some Italian factions, Sweden, the US and Russia, and together we destroyed the United Kingdom's naval power and divided its Empire. That was perhaps the best game I've ever played.

  • @LordClaremorris If you don't mind, I have a question about manpower/soldiers. The first time I had the game, the amount of soldier pops in my nation didn't decrease permanently when I built new divisions or reinforced old ones. The second time, it did. Does this only happen on harder difficulty? I'd be very grateful to find out.

  • @DrStrangebomb1993 Well it shouldn't decrease at all. When you form divisions you need the necessary number of soldier pops. If they're dying though you lose the soldier pops, as far as I remember.

  • @LordClaremorris Yes but I mean, assume I have x amount of soldiers and y as maximum manpower. The first time I had the game, the manpower pool did decrease when I reinforced/recruited but it always increased back to the max. The second time the maximum went down when I recruited/reinforced, and the soldier pop began to dwindle.

  • Yeehaw! I'm going to try this game and see if I can get Denmark to be good friends with Sweden for once. Haha.

  • you try that

  • This is one of the best games ever :)

  • can i play with albania in this game ?

  • Yes you can depending on which scienario it is.

  • @leoalbania Not immediately, the Ottoman Empire starts in control of Albania, unless you play 1914 scenario. You can however, create it in game, or you can edit the files so it's immediately playable. I do warn you though, Albania will be extremely poor, and if you get into it, alone, with any medium sized power, they will destroy you.

  • ok thnx i will buy this game.

  • any multiplayer?

  • I couldn't agree more with you. Having played this game for nearly four years, I could never get enough of its geo-political and economic complexities. I can't wait for Victoria II!

  • Victoria 2 is coming out later this year!

  • Whenever I tried this, my PoPs always seemed to disappear for some reason. When I promoted farmers to clerks/craftsmen, the clerks/craftsmen already working in my factories would diminish. Does anyone know why this happens?

  • Probably my favorite strategy game.

  • how would you compare this game to europa universallisIII?

  • *maxes shitty tiny country's education spending*

*makes 75% of the population clerks*

*trades techs to Russia for Alaska*

*gets 20 million immigrants by 1930*

  • play china its one of the most exciting country ive played jeje... france will be helpless without their french indochina colony haha

  • hello its my first time to play the game... ive got problems i cant buy machine parts even if there was 1 at the market? anyone help?

  • The machine parts usually become more readily available on the world market from the 1850s and 1860s onwards. You can also research industrial technologies which give you +5 machine parts each time.

  • thnx

  • patch or expansion

  • it depends on the player because for me i play china or brazil it has more excitement

  • @djordjemilovanovic95 why not.everyone plays what he chose

  • Victoria Revolutions have a bug I just discovered, the Radio Factory is displayed as unknown parameter, not sure if I can edit the bug. There are spelling mistakes e.g. Factory is spelled Factroy.

  • Please shut up Supermerdileiro, he was referring to the fact that nearly all of Africa can be colonized while there are relatively few places outside the continent that can also be colonized. This is unfortunate for valid reasons such as the exploitations of their populace, with negative ramifications that can still be seen to this day. Spare us your stupid comments.

  • the messages arent that a big nuisance. just right click and disable it and this kind of message wont pop up anymore.

  • i still play it. its just great. a shame fans are scarce.

  • I just bought this 2 days ago, and although im pro at Hearts of Iron 2 I'm finding this one damn difficult. Any tips of websites or something where i could learn?

  • see my Vicky video walkthroughs, they should help with learning the ropes.

  • plus how do u go online every time i go online no 1s on in evry game i got from paradox

  • when will victoria 2 come out

  • Comment removed

  • Great review!

I think I'm gonna buy it.

  • Thanks, hope you enjoy it. Just remember it's a VERY deep game and it'll take you some time to understand all the dimensions of it so patience is a must.

  • Victoria 2 will be nice!!!

  • When, How and Why would you use the various pie-charts found in the Report-Screen? It's obvioiusly there to help the player make intelligent decisions when managing the political, economic & military affairs of his nation. The question is - In what way? give specific examples. Question: Have you ever played Capitalism 2? Caesar III?

  • That's a lot of questions. On the pie-charts they're just a snapshot of your nation and most of them aren't stats you can radically alter. More of an interesting aside. Although if you convert your entire workforce to soldiers expect to see that show up on your pie-chart but other things such as ethnic make up isn't much under your control.

  • how do ya get the life rating in a provence higher?

  • I don't think you can, although you can mod the excel files manually very simply (but to do that for more than a few territories takes a long time)

  • aw thanks was just wondering because i want more people to move to me country and didnt no how

  • on a scale from one to ten, ten being as fast as a walrus and 1 being as slow as a turtle. How complicated is the game?

  • It is only slow and complex if you do not want to learn how to play it which you will have to do. It places a lot of emphasis on economic power rather than military or diplomatic power. Not great to some as EU 2 or 3 but if you love history, you'll love this one. Oh, If you are into graphics, don't buy it.

  • well i downloaded it and its so confusing

  • IT bored me!, I'll stick with HOI series.

  • Does anyone know how to delete saved games???

  • In windows, go to my computer, click C drive, click program files folder, click Strategy First folder, click Victoria folder, click scenarios folder, click save games folder, delete the files you don't want.

  • Reading the "Viki Wiki" and following the "New-players guide : Brazil" can lower the learning curve dramatically. I've been playing for 3 days and have gotten my head around every feature.

I feel sorry for those without the internet who bought this game though!

  • How do you play as Brazil? The only nations I see are the main powerful ones...

  • right click on a flag and you can select any of the dozens of other nations.

  • Thanks

  • After years of playing EU3 and HOI2 I finally tried Victoria. Played a game as Brazil and finished 2nd overall. Then exported my game in Hoi2 and realized Brazil could rival USA in IC.

    I love Paradox sometimes.

  • @manwaring hey how do u export.I was Prussia and I conquered all of central Europe but I ran into 1934 and I know it ends next year.I quickly played a nation and went 2 1936 and export but I cant find the save in HOI2

  • i prefer hearts of iron 2 with the '34 mod

    god,how awesome!!!

  • *" how can i put my units into the ships "*

  • how can i transport ubits in to ships ?

  • Build either transports or later steamer transports, place them in a sea space next to land where your land units are. Select your regiments, then right click on the ships and your units will move on to the ships. Trying to move too many on to too few ships will result in none of them moving.

  • hmmm i dont understand how u cant think hoi2 is the best one^^ i think i have to try this..

btw i saw u made double click in the hoi2 video at the production bars to freeze them... perhaps u didnt know: right click freeze it too. immediatly. if u do double click u waste some ic cause it switch around most times...

    greetz

  • can you be Moldova or Moldavia or Bessarbia on this game?

  • no you can't

  • Yes you can. You can play as Moldavia and even go for the Unification of Romania event. The Modern Moldova was considered part of Romania during the time frame of the game.

  • i already know that now.i discovered it

  • Yeah you can play it online.

This is my favorite game btw

  • The "Grand Paradox Campaign" must kind of come to a stand-still at this point, right?

  • can i play this online

  • Dunno, never play games online. You can play LAN for sure.

  • wow m8 you shud be online.makes stragety games realy fun.

  • paradox is the only game studio i really like anymore. i still play games by other developers, but most seem to sacrifice gameplay for graphics

  • i want this game

  • how can i play whit other countries

  • click on flag and u get list

  • Comment removed

  • Ok so after like 3 minutes I found out about VIP mod, and it looks/sounds promising. Other than that is there anything else or other mods that makes the game more realistic? I dont care much about graphic improvements, I really just like Realism tweaks and mods.

    Thanks!

  • I LOVE these kind of games, it looks a little bit like HoI2 and that is my favorite game, so this game looks awesome. I love that it focuses on the economy as well.

I just have a question: Are there/is there a relaly good mod for this game? I love realism mods, for example I use TRP with HoI2 and it was great..

If there is a mod overhaul like that let me know because im getting this game! Thanks for uploading!

  • sweden!!

  • I got this one too. The expansion fixes a lot of the problems in the original Victoria. Really deep game.

  • very cool but idk where to find it but thanks

  • I liked this game, but it has a very steep learning curve; not recommended for people who just want some shooty shooty! You have to use your brain I'm afraid. Hearts of Iron I would recommended as a slightly easier game series to grasp.

  • haha, very true.

  • where can i download this?

  • Gamersgate. The game doesn't cost much, and is worth buying.

  • Yeah i believe it can be changed. Dont ask me how though, I still haven't worked out how to build a division!

  • will it work on vista?

  • Yeah should work on vista. Download it off the Paradox Website or order it from ebay or something.

  • I hope Paradox make the 2nd version.they already doing rge 3rd installation for HOI and I got tired with WW2 game and I just wish more VAge Of Industrial era game

  • great game but just to hard to play espacially the economy

  • Just one question: what is the earliest starting date in this game?

  • 1836

  • Can you play as Finland after 1917? (The year we became independent)

  • One of the best games I've ever played. Awesome review.

  • can you battle???

  • @ patriotme: Yep.

  • Im a big EU3 fan personally - cant find a demo for this game anywhere.

  • Victoria revolutions rules,

By the way if you want to play as african countries, there are mods that allow that (only one really: Victoria Improvement Project; check paradox forums)

  • Thanks, will do. I'll probably also upload a vid about the one I was working on a few months back soon, just to give people an idea of it and to get advice on getting it working better.

  • but crusader kings deus vult is paradox's best

  • love this game, love the economic componet best. hope they make a second one
