have You looked at the world lately?? I sure cant see any oppsite imagery to what artists like Giger creates.. The world is filled with violence, depraved beings(humans who acts like a empty shell of their self) and a deep sense of lacking morale. Its not about being blinded by talent as you so elegantly put it, its about appriciation for artists who depict what the see.. Further, don't you think one of the reason's people choose Giger's art for tattoos and album covers is for its creative genius. I'm sorry I forgot, good artist don't get world fame until they are dead...or maybe it's that rule about egalitarian types being the only one's who can judge artists.
i would like to see you exhibit a FRACTION of his perfection and creativity, especially during the 70's, he is a pioneer to say the least,he spawned an entire generation of perfection and has influenced millions around the globe, I could never understand how someone who is nowhere near that level, judge his status

"Dystopian"? Flummoxed. Giger's art (as well as his countless imitators) looks awfully silly. You just see this kinda stuff everywhere: tattooes, SciFi Channel monster crap, video games, Anime, album covers. Giger is a mediocre artist who one day happened to fall in with a talented young film director named Ridley Scott. Since then, G has been ripped off and/or worked on terrible films like Species,PoltergeistII.
