  • would you recommend this bike fro beginner?

  • Thanks for making this vid. I am a new rider with a 2010 ninja 250 and the vid helps a ton.

  • You teaching him will make u a better rider as well. I agree having known how to drive a clutch since I was like 12 it was easy at 27 to jump in and tackle a bike. But good looking out for your buddy ! Ride safe and with gear. Us Kawasaki guys don't like to be grouped with squids

  • I have been driving an old Stick Shift Ford truck for 4 years, but what is a Engine break ? Ive never heared anyone say that

  • I know how to drive a manual and I've ridden dirtbikes, how would I do with this? My friend is gonna let me ride his :)

  • @SiiKxKiiLLer Similar but different. Just remember if you fall, it's not going to be on dirt anymore.

  • @we5leyz pretty much yea, similar, but the handling will feel allot different on a street bike then a dirt bike, but being fimilier with the controls already will put you miles ahead of most new riders.

  • ok this is how you up shift! now go try it! when you get back i'll tell you how to down shift!! ... woah wait crap! lol

good exercises to get more comfortable you seem to be doing a good job teaching

  • @VanquishedWolf lmao

  • hahahah i never drove manual when i took the test i was the one holding up 2 day course stalling out every take off . I didnt get the bike yet looking for a nice 250r or 500r

  • Lol at the bj sign. Why do people go ahead and name there shops that. I've seen more "dicks taverns" then any other name. Do they do it for fun. :)

  • Wow, you actually do a good job teaching him. Most people on Youtube are like, "here's my R1, have a good time!" Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd we see how that works out.

  • @Dogfacerawr Thank you. I tried.

  • have u heard of something called ZOOMING ?

  • of course ur not MSF teacher bcz they dont allow cameras

  • Ny were? I taught myself to drive a bike a 13. I had a 110cc manual pocket bike. I learned in about a hour. Now I'm 17 and have a cbr929 (2002). It's so much fun.

  • Target Blow Jobs (BJ's) 2:46 on the right hahah

  • engine braking doesnt hurt the trans tho. its better and safer that way... stay in gear so you could also quickly accelerate if you have to. i always keep it in gear until revs drop to like 1000rpm in my car (while braking ofcourse)

  • HOLY SHIT! 2 for 1 lobsters!!!

  • @CrispyGFX inorite!!! :D

  • yes you can kill the engine it has a killswitch. i reccomend not killing it though unless needed i hear the killswitch breaks easily

  • 2 for 1 "LOBSTERS"! :)))

  • I drive a manual car, but turning on bikes scares the hell out of me. I rode my buddys the other day, and really want one just gotta learn.

  • How long does it usually take to learn to drive a motorcyle because i really want one.

  • so im curious can you kill the engine on a motorcycle? Like is it similar to a manual vehicle? If its not similar is there still a way to kill the motorcycle to where you would have to start the motorcycle again?

  • @specificlyvague i think you can kill it like a manual. Some dude said it on another vid i watched

  • @Blackdude48 ah kk thx

  • Dude theres a store called BJ's on that sign lol

  • omg i wanna get one so bad

  • I want 2 for 1 lobsters!

  • do they have automatics!

  • im gonna pull the throttle like 3/4 back, and just drop the clutch! ill be fine ... nothin will happen.......well... except a few injuries..............maybe death who knows hahaha

  • I have a question man. I have been riding dirtbikes my whole life and I am really good at riding them but would it be a bad ideo to start riding a Ninja ZX6R because I want to ride fast and have that ability but at the same time I want the best for me. Thanks and GREAT video!!!!

  • @xYoungWill I've never rode dirt bikes, but it's a different riding style and the rules of the road vs dirt are 2 different worlds.

  • Look at thoes oakley pilot gloves :D

  • Does anyone else realize the BJ's sign under the target sign in the background?

  • 2 for 1 Lobsters!!!!

  • out of 126 people...1 person didnt get how to ride a bike lolzzz

  • @KerryDoan lmao

  • my dirtbike always dies when im trying to start from first. I have to get the perfect amount of throttle going or it'll just shut off. Are sportbikes like the ninja anything like that? Cuz im thinking of getting one soon and I don't wanna worry about it shutting off right at a green light

  • @TheRealFuzzySalsaa You can be over generous with the throttle, just be easy on the clutch and you'll get going.

  • @we5leyz okay. thank you.

  • @TheRealFuzzySalsaa Your clutch plates are probably going out... Mine was like that, too until I changed them.

  • @TheRealFuzzySalsaa When the engine shuts off like that it's called a "stall". (The engine dies.) What that means is that you just let the clutch out too fast.

  • @TheRealFuzzySalsaa Street bike clutches engage a lot smoother then dirtbikes. On a street bike you don't need to give any gas to get moving.

  • What is he talking about at the end? "it's better to put it into neutral rather than engine brake because..."

That will wear the brakes out really quickly.

  • @GeorgeHurst08 He's talking about cars

  • @GeorgeHurst08 So you rather wear down your transmission instead of brake pads? Hmm

  • @we5leyz i usually do coast anyway, unless im going above 40, if im doing above 40 ill engine brake down to around 25-30 then coast.

  • @we5leyz oh, and i forgot to say, coasting uses more fuel than being in gear when not on the accelerator.

  • @GeorgeHurst08 So you rather save gas and wear down your transmission faster? The tranny will cost more in the long run.

  • @we5leyz I wont have the car long enough to worry about having to replace the gearbox by changing down gears. also, you only shift down at lower speeds, so it doesnt over rev or anything, its hardly any pressure.

so slowing down with engine then changing down > coasting.

  • @we5leyz Tell me about it, Tranny's always cost me heaps.. Just for an hour or 2 of pleasure.. Haha couldn't resist

  • @we5leyz no wonder most US driving licenses are not valid in the EU. Coasting any big distance will fail your test as you're not considered in control of the car, especially downhill. When stopping, you want to push the clutch in as late as possible and when coming down from higher speeds, a little engine braking helps.

You'll only wear out the tranny if you drop the clutch and engine brake hard. Also, coasting saves fuel as the engine is not in the higher revs.

  • HAHA true that dude. I had to learn how to drive a manual because that was the only vehicle I had at that point lol.

  • it's FUCKIN loud as shit , 250cc engine is good for a teaching bike, GET a 600cc as a second choice OR R1 is sick too

  • i want to buy RAPTOR 450r and i don t know how to drive manual ATV, now i have Chinese ATV 107 cc

  • When he said "I'm not THAT comfortable with a manual yet," it clarified a lot lol I'm trying to teach my friend how to ride, who has little to no experience with a manual transmission, and he looked (and sounded) very similar to her haha thanks for the vid though, it gave me a few tips to help explain to my friend better haha

  • What brand clutch lever do you have?

  • LOL this is in college point!!!

  • Just got my bike =)

going to go for training in a month!!

    Can;t wait!!

  • what kind of helmet did he have on??? i love how its all black, i want that asap lol

  • @ADudeNamedCharlie That's my Icon Domain II

  • @we5leyz ah gotcha. im still saving up for my bike. so ive watched like all ur bike vids along with rebelyell and m13's vids. i think ill just get a gloss black bell arrow helmet with the darkest black tint possible. lol and an 08 or 09 ninja250 to start off. man im ready!

  • @ADudeNamedCharlie wow, didn't know my videos were that popular

  • @we5leyz well ive only seen the teaching danny how to ride videos lol

  • @ADudeNamedCharlie i have done the exact same. over the past few days thats what i do haha. and i am saving for my bike before i get to college.

  • @twitchkillin hell yah dude. ive been obsessed with getting a bike. but im moving back to cali over the summer so ill just wait to buy mine there

  • @ADudeNamedCharlie right on, what are you looking at getting?

  • @twitchkillin It was the ninja 250. but im not sure if im gunna get a bike down here in cali. just drivin on the roads as a passenger is scary enough!

  • how tall is he? and weight?

  • You gave a couple of nice pointers in this video, man. Appreciate it.

Learning not to stall is best fun on an old bike with just the kick start!

  • hey great good on the video man i have never ridin a bike before and just from watching this video i see its not that easy but i will practice like he did

  • what kind of yoshimura exhaust is that?

  • @zleake000 just a full yoshi

  • Thanks for the video man, I just bought a 250R and I've never been on a bike. I'll have somebody help me like this, but the video is a great plus - Thanks again!

  • @l1e2s3t4e5r No problem ;)

  • hey look it's me. funny thing is i ride a 1 now. haha

  • I WANT 2 FOR 1 LOBSTER!

  • College Point, 20th ave

  • I learned manual shifting on the bike first too. It didn't carry over very well to a car. Now I know both. :)

  • I'd be worried for the clutch.

  • @Daehawk The clutch plates will be okay when you're working the friction zone in first gear at low RPM. The plates are bathed in engine oil.

  • i want 2 for 1 lobsters

  • did anyone else notice the S4 at 1:50

  • @DerMoerder1 No, is it yours?

  • i have that shirt

  • at 5:02 that resturaunt has 2 for 1 lobsters, what a deal ;)

  • there is NO WAY i would jump on a crotch rocket to learn. i bought a dirt bike to play with, because you will, and i did, drop it. often.

  • awesome video dude

  • oh my gosh 2 for 1 lobsters

  • Its funny how a 250 can scare* the shit out of a new rider

  • its funny how a 250 can scary the shit out of a new rider...

  • Great learning bike. I got mine about a month ago, stock 2011. It's my first bike and never previously rode before, and riding it came naturally. It took me about an hour to get the hang of it. It's all about respecting the bike, and respecting the danger it wields, wether it's 250cc's or 1000cc's.

  • Sound young to be a dad of a kid that old :P

  • im about 6ft 160 would this bike look bad on me?

  • @NebraskaBlakshirts Every rider has told me the same thing, Go to a shop and sit on some bikes, if the 250 feels small then maybe try a 500 or 600 to start, the 250 should be fine but the only way you will know for sure is to go sit on one. Most bikers I have talked to have said always start on a 250 to get all the basics down as they are much more forgiving and you become a better rider working your way up than starting with something you won't feel as comfortable on.

  • Mirrors??

  • Hahaha 2:45 Target BJ's hahaha

  • I am getting a Kawasaki 250r in a couple weeks, but i'm not really sure how to down shift. I do drive a manual, but no one has taught me to down shift.

  • @Fasterthangravity you break untill your in the rpm range of the gear lower, then you downshift, then break until in the lower gear range then downshift. Etc...

  • @we5leyz I was wondering why your bike sounded so great. Yoshimira exhaust correct?

  • Comment removed

  • hahahhahahahah when u said "ahh shit i forgot to tell him he shifts up not to lock the rear wheels" that craked me up hahaha nice vid btw

  • hurray for a new rider!!

but you should NEVER have your feet dragging or down when the bike is moving

  • omg in 3yrs ima get the ninja 250r in all black woot i cant wait when i turn 16

  • @AustonFlow in exacly a year from now ama be 16 hello 250r

  • hey...what model motorcycle jacket is that? i love ICON. ^_^

thanks for the video. i just got my license and rode my cousins 600cc ninja. it was amazing, but i think i should start with a 250r. can you explain how to make the turns. i was having a hard time with a sports bike. =/ thanks again

  • @l8er It's the Icon Merc Leather.

  • awesome video, this really gives me an isight on exactly what to expect for my ninja250r. =D

  • great tips . see kids this is how you should learn in a parking lot not on a city street

  • Yeah good video, thanks.

  • hey buddy if im 6'2 190 pounds, would i be able to ride a bike like this? or would i just look stupid lol. thanks

  • @USFCARTWRIGHT If you are concerned about how you will look, you probably shouldn't be getting into motorcycling. That's just not the right reason to ride a bike...not at all.

  • 20ave ... lol. nice.. im planning on getting this bike nxt winter, but in blue.

  • useful video, im just starting my savings for a ninja 250r as a first bike myself, will have to watch the series. :P

  • haha crazy man he learned fast.. and i cant wait for someone to teach me... : / haha great video man.. dont want to sound like a.. well you know.. but in 2:56 is it me or does it say "BJ's"? haha im sorry couldnt stop laughing once i saw it.. :) but great vid man i think for me for not knowing much i think i am learning from this thanks! :)

  • @hades250r yes BJ's is actually a store lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Where did you get your levers from?

  • @ShwigShwag Not sure, they came with the bike.

  • @we5leyz how tall is danny? im asking because im 5"2 and they say that this bike has a lower seat for shorter riders like myself. and it looked like he was tip toeing.

  • @MrFrankenstein92 i'm 5'3 and i'm pretty comfy in it

  • Yeah, I'm 6'4, would that look ridiculous?

  • @sevinfold Yeah, pretty much lol

  • @sevinfold height doesnt really matter

  • @sevinfold on a 250? Oh yeah!! Unless someone lets you just practice on it. Not much for us tall people (im 6ft 5 inch). I purchased a Kawasaki Mean Streak for my first bike and I felt cramped, but it was enough for two years to get practice on. Then I purchased a Yamaha Raider. If you want a sport bike I understand that the 1000 and 1300 bikes have more room, but THEY ARE NOT FOR BEGINNER RIDERS!!

  • Would this be good for a 6 foot 2 inches guy

  • This video is getting me so excited!!!! I plan on learning to ride very very soon. and I also plan on getting a ninja 250r for my first bike.

I was taking notes while watching this. :]

    Thanks for this.

  • so this would be a good bike to start on? and how hard is it to learn without much help, like any classes or somthing that you could take if you dont have any friends to teach you?

  • @Vahsoo I highly recommend the MSF course. Everything I learned is from MSF books, manuals and MSF videos. I would of took the course but I couldn't afford it at the time, so instead I just studied my ass off.

  • Very good video, i learn very much from your video thnks!!, and i have a question...how much cost your bike?..cause i´m from Colombia and i´m gonna be in u.s.a. and i really want to know how much money i got to make jeje. again thnks!!!

  • @dnaniel94 You can get the new style ones 2008 and up for under $3,000 USD

  • @we5leyz all right thanks, is more cheap that i thought, here the 2008 250r cost $6.500 USD

  • i'm glad to see him wearing protective gear. at least he is smart in that sense.

  • ive been on both ends of this but when your starting out i would have told him to not even wory about the front brake becuse thats how i wrecked my first ninja i went to pull in the brake and i accelerated and freaked out and went down but i was only 15 and dumb hes smarter than that

  • nice vid bro getting my 250r next week very excited

  • Its soooo eeaaassyyy driiiivveee

  • can ne1 help me and my friend were goin bak and fourth arguing bcuz he's lookin to get a bike and he's 6'0 about 280lbs and he's sayin that he's gonna start off with a 250 now im like ur gonna look stupid on that but he wants it should he get that or just go and get a 600??? ( and he's quite capable of learning how to ride a 600 )

  • @vicp1990 I say he goes with the ninja 500r, cuz hes way to big for a 250 and a 600 just might be a little much for a beginner.

  • @vicp1990 I say he goes with the ninja 500r, cuz hes way to big for a 250 and a 600 just might be a little much for a beginner.

  • @vicp1990 the max weight on a ninjka 250 is i think 360lbs ....i am 6'0 260lb and i was thinking about ninja 250, but i say go with a 500cc...the suzuki gs500f is a sport bike that is 500cc can take his weight and size is more upright position and the handle bars are more like straight and comfortable. thats what im leaning towards

  • So you do have to use the clutch for shifting up?

  • @Coltsfan18291 I personally do it

  • Ohhh god" lol

  • Dude, this video is awesome ! thx a lot :-) if stars system was still used on youtube, i would give you 5 stars ;-)

  • wow thanks alot man this helped big time lol

  • Would that exhaust system (sounds epic btw) slow down the bike or decrease the max speed?

  • what kinda exhaust do you have on your 250? it sounds great!!

  • LOL @ the nervous "Oh god..." at about 1:38. You're a good bud loaning your bike to your friend to learn on.

  • @projekt89130

I thought the same thing. Good friend right there. He really should take the MSF course to get alot of the basics down under open safe conditions, but good job instructing him.

  • @projekt89130 Lol, I made him buy his own 250, not use mine

  • @we5leyz Am I going to be comfortable on this bike if I am 5 foot 7 tall ?

  • @madedd02 Yes, I am 5'7 with boots. People like us look perfectly proportional on this bike.

  • @we5leyz hehe :) Thanks! I am getting it for my first bike then !

  • @we5leyz what about 6'0' tall people? i am 16, 200lbs and 6 foot tall.....I've never driven a motorcycle, but only once on a dirt bike. i know they are 2 entirely different machines bt perform the same basic concept of it. Idk anything about bikes and was wondering if you or anyone else could help me out, some tips, hints, and what would be a good beginner bike.

  • @thawere You might want to try a bigger bike like the 650r. The 250r looks very tiny with someone of your height riding. I'm 5'6 and I'm more proportioned on the 250, almost perfect.

Although, it's not a bad idea to start on the 250 and upgrade once you have mastered it. The resale value is almost the same.

  • @we5leyz Alright, thanks man appreciate you tip. have safe riding.

  • Great vids man. I'm planning on getting this bike as well, for a beginner it looks fun.

  • cool vid :) i'm saving up to buy that same bike... and this is actually quite helpful :D thnx ;)

  • Its a very nice bike :)

  • very informative vids man..im just bout to learn to ride this exact bike :)

  • very informative vids man..im just bout to learn to ride this exact bike :)

  • looks a lot easier to ride then a cbr250 at low speed

  • Damn cool of you to teach your friend how to ride!

  • i am getting a similar bike in a week with no1 to teach me.i guess i gotta learn from here..:-)

  • @androwi97 ive watched so many how to videos on youtube from starting the bike to shifting to changing oil and brake pads that i feel i could ride it home from the dealer.

  • @androwi97 Check and see if there are any Motorcycle Safety Foundation classes in your area.

  • lol no one ever taught me how to ride a bike, i just took the opportunity when my friend asked me to ride his cr230 and learned as i went

  • Simple, pleasant interesting video.

    Keep it like this.

  • hey man, I agree 100% with the description, quick question, recomended height/weight/age for this bike?

  • dude, what kind of clutch lever is that? i need something similar for my ninja (clutch level that is adjustible)

  • how much it costs a ninja 1000cc or 650cc in euro?
