I attend Brescia which is an all girls collage that is part of western and it to is our version of Alma and if it got set on fire and burnt down I'd feel the way most of you do I wish I had got the chance to see Alma before it went to ruins and it's crazy tht the google earth image is from the day of the fire it's really creepy

Alma was completely falling apart -- looks at the bricks in the video during the walk-through. It would have cost more the restore the place than to build three new identical ones. The protesters had their hearts -- but not their heads -- in the right place.
Alma College was a historic landmark of st. thomas. It held memories of all sort. If you cannot respect your local history, then why do you live here? And those people who set it on fire should have their keep-sakes and memories set on fire. St. Thomas is a wonderful city, and people like that shouldn't live here.
It truly was a sad day for St Thomas. A sad day for myself as well. I love that building. It was like watching a loved one die in a horrific way. I feel so angre at this city for not protecting her. I feel even more angry at the owner for destroying something so beautiful and so loved. I hope that this city has learned to protect everything in st thomas that makes this place unique and great and beautiful.
it is sad...unfortunately if they learned a lesson it was too late. Alma college was the BEST architectural beauty in St. Thomas. Other buildings pale in comparison. I think it has made me depressed about living here now. I want to move.

man i live 15 minutes away from alma and i hate seeing something like this happen to a historic building... kids always ask why others dont trust them... they do things like this to be cool but its not cool its ignorent.. i have been on many petitions to get this building up and running and i have even made a facebook group... but it cant be done now.... my opinion is that a new school should be built on that land soo the education lives on... may it be a public school or high school

i've been in there myself. i saw the fire happen. it was so sad.....the roofs caved in, and yet the church beside it was left unharmed
