Does Krishna teach how to use soap and water? I remember that it was pretty odiferous when I would pass the Krishnas. They'd swarm you like wasps. I'd swear there are probably Krishnas on the moon.

Because this mantra is the essence of spirituality. Krsna is the name for God in sanskrit and God and his name are non different. So when you chant the names of Krsna you directly associate with Krsna or God. This mantra helps you understand that you are not this body but rather and eternel spirit soul.
