To me, Micaiah is just a rip-off of someone's fanfic story starring their Mary-Sues.
I mean, seriously, Micaiah IS a Mary-Sue!
She possesses the ability of farsight, she ends up being the supreme general by the end of Part 1 WAY too soon, we later find out that she has a bird whom is the goddess of chaos, she had silver hair, she's pretty, and everybody likes her.
@ruingirl6 : I like her as well but she had one BIG problem for me. Her low speed! It made it difficult to double attack AND she often gets attacked twice. >_> I know she does not belong in the front line but you know that sometimes, enemies make their way around my defense. She is a decent unit but not the best though.
Micaiah has horrible speed? How come when I play her speed increases as much as ler luck does. I never really had a problem with her. Edward is my favorite unit mainly because I like to start fresh (low base stats. Too bad he disappears about half of the game (and mostly the fun parts..).
And Meg is actually really good; yeah, I went there...
I'm sure you get tired of using Gatrie after your third playthrough... you HAVE to be tired of him by then...
Shes not that good of a unit if you ask me. Low def and hp is normal for a mage, but her speed sucks too so basicaly she can pretty much die in 1 shot from most strong physical enemies. If she had more speed, she would be awesome combined with her kick ass luck.
Actually, that's Zihark. Edward has bad offense and defense in part 1, while Zihark has good offense and average defense for part 1. Edward requires massive amounts of babying, Zihark does not. By Part 3, assuming both have been used, Edward is still 2HKO's by everything and defense is still terrible. Zihark still remains good. Then Part 4, Zihark gets the best defense from any Trueblade, still good offense, while Edward is finally DECENT. But you get Naesala and Tibarn who rape him anyway
well true that compare him to a laguz royale he sucks and he requires lots of babying, but stat-wise he really ends up superior if you train him to trueblade lvl20 without using promotion items. although every trueblade in radiant dawn ends up fairly close stat-wise to each others, having more level to grow and a very good growth rate, edward ends up SLIGHTLY better.
Edward doesn't end up SLIGHTLY better. Zihark ends up better than most. Mia and Zihark has more STR than Edward and Zihark has higher DEF than either of them. Zihark is just so much easier to train; he's pretty much Eddie's replacement once you get him. Mia's base STR and DEF are laughable, tied with ROLF'S, and Edward requires the third-most amount of babying in the game to be usable. She really depends on supports to thrive. Zihark requires nothing. Edward requires all your BEXP to use.
@youtuguru Zihark is a great SM that you get early in the game, but his growths aren't as good as Edward's. Edward is a fair dodge-machine against other enemies (especially axe users if you aren't in Hard Mode) and doubles nearly anyone. Get him to 20/2 and Zihark can't match his strength and luck even with data transfer. The Dawn Brigade has some of the best characters in the game (Edward, Micaiah, Nolan, Jill) while others just SUCK (lolFiona and lolTauroneo)
Edward is just a terrible earlygame character since enemies in Part 1 actually have a HIT percentage to be feared. And since most of those guys are axe-users early on, and that goddamn laguz chapter, Edward usually walls enemies with his face and gets 1HKO'd on hard mode, which is the only mode to argue really. Sure, those GROWTHS are nice, but lolLight, terrible bases, and stuck in the hardest part with other, more awesome units is bad for him. And Micaiah is forever confined as the healbot.
Zihark's good for a speedthrough where you don't have the time to level up the units with low bases but great growths. But even with data transfer his stats fall behind Mia, who, like all of Greil's Mercs, kicks the shit out of everyone is their path, and Edward, who can combo with Micaiah to take out enemies 1-by-1
Play through Path of Radiance. How many times did you use Titania?
There ARE people who appreciate low bases but incredible potential.
Too bad those characters with low bases have a hole to climb out of. Now, it depends on what they already have going for them that makes them good, not growths. Because what good are those growths if there aren't any good tricks getting around them, since PATIENCE isn't really an effective argument; I could say that about Elincia in FE9 and Sofiya in FE6. But they SUCK. So what does Edward have? Godawful bases, stuck to swords, in a part where enemies have HIT; worse he has 5 DEF. PROBLEM.
Also, Zihark and Mia are pretty much even; Mia has offense while Zihark has defense. Zihark has better support range while Mia has more availability. Their bases, outside of SPD and SKL which are both awesome anyway, are also rather close, despite Mia being four levels higher. And I used Titania a lot in PoR because she is hands down THE best character in the game, bar NONE. And Micaiah is too weak to kill enemies so she is physic spamming and Edward is getting benched for Zi, Mia, even Stef
Titania is a classic Oifey who, at the beginning of the game, just plain robs your units of EXP. She turns out great at the end but at the beginning but you need to level up other units, like Oscar and Mia.
It isn't robbing them of EXP if she gets the EXP. Besides, I'm not saying Titania is the ONLY ONE getting EXP. There are enough enemies for Ike/Oscar/Jill/Marcia/Kieran/Boyd to go around, because last I checked, every enemy wasn't clamoring after Titania. You have plenty of others opportunities to let the rest of your team have some EXP. Titania CAN get some, but she isn't "stealing" it. It's more like syphoning it from the characters who do not need EXP, or suck anyway.
@youtuguru I believe the whole "Edward is too weak and Micaiah is too weak" problem is easily remedied by the first tutorial in FE10 that you see. I take it you missed it? Watch it again. I believe it's called "Tactics: Cooperation"
loltutorial. It also forgets to mention how depressingly AVERAGE Edward can reach during Part 3 and how bad he is in Part 1. If you need an in-game mechanic that tells you stuff you already know as a defense, you fail at debating.
I do not need an "in-game mechanic" to tell me defenses. But it is a solution to the problem that you've been rambling about. Why don't you WATCH it? If you can't even bring yourself to watch it, then yeah, dude, your Edward will be doomed to be shitty, meanwhile mine kicks ass as a Lv10 Trueblade.
I want to end this trolling session ASAP, so... I use Jill, Ranulf, Edward, Micaiah, Lethe, Mordecai, Sanaki, Leonardo, Meg, and (almost never) Fiona, you obviously don't, that's ok with me.
Mordecai is actually the best non-royal non-heron laguz in the game, mostly because he has WTF defense. Let me put it this way; his base DEF is only matched or beaten by the Black Knight, Gareth, and a few royals. That is damn impressive. Jill is no slouch either, but Haar just RAAAAAAAAPES the game. And you can use those characters if you want as long as you don't overrate them by calling them better than they actually are. Like calling Edward the best TB, which is just bullshit.

omg i really hate micaiah. shes a pretty good mage and watever but she gets killed by everyone. people call her clever but she tries to fight the greil merceneries and the laguz alliance...that doesnt sound very clever to me.
She cares about Daein and nothing else. She doesn't care about any other countries only care about a country that she isn't even her birth place (since she is Sanaki's older sister, that means she is from Begionon not Daein). At least Ike shows some understanding. I also dislike how other characters joined her side when they aren't from Daein. I know they are indebted to her, but that is totally wrong. One of the heron joined her and yet Daein is with Beginion that destroyed their race.
Every character seems to have a sense for righteousness and fairness. But she does not ask for reasons if she has to do something. For example when Pelleas asks her to fight against the Laguz.
Many lives had to wither away because she is the typical "I don't know what to do but in fact I HAVE TO do something"-character.
Micaiah is one of the hardest for me to level up, but her magic is really the highest I've seen(other than Sephiran)., but she can get killed by almost anything. -_-
Micaiah is not sucks if u train her seriously she can be a beast in the tower of guidance, her cap stat is the best out of the mages

@uzimakishadow I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out to ruingirl6 that yes, she does have flaws. For a mage, she's pretty good.

@uzimakishadow I know. It's because she's a mage. That's the mage's weakness, but she could be a bit faster, and it is a weakness, which is a flaw.
