Zakk is a huge southern rock fan and grew up playing Skynyrd and Allman Brothers. Some of that influence will show up in his playing sometimes. Have you ever heard his "Pride and Glory" album ? that is all southern based stuff. Hell ,the Allman Brothers had him sit in for Dicket Betts in the early 90's because they knew he loved their stuff. I missed that show by one night :-( and saw the Brothers the following night.

Just to clarify something, this riff is vastly different from simple man. I'm not trying in any way to toot my own horn, but I've played guitar most of my life (15 outta 19 years), and this isn't Simple Man, close though.
